Love!!! Love!!! Love!!! This place. This is the embodiment of Beaufort. Their selection of olive oils and balsamic is unmatched. The unique gifts and culinary tools and gadgets can please any cook or chef. The staff is so insanely sweet. You just feel good being here. If you are in Beaufort, stop in and indulge.

Olive The Above on Bay Street in Beaufort is an awesome place for all things olive oils, balsamic vinegars, and many other tasty items. I really like that almost all of the items that are for sale are available to sample and try and taste. I like being able to taste all of the different flavors before making a purchase and even being able to combine different flavors to make even more flavors. The staff here is extremely helpful and patient in suggesting different flavors and combinations to meet your needs and goals. There are so many good items that it is hard to make a wrong choice, but there are definitely some flavors that really stand out and are a must to purchase. Overall this is a great store and I will be returning for refills.

A small bottle of coconut vinegar, $14.95.

Olive the Above is a fantastic specialty food store in beautiful downtown Beaufort. I have been in the store several times since being in town and each time I am greeted by very friendly employees. They offer amazing vinegars and olive oil, all that you can taste test before buying. They offer small bags of plain popcorn to help you decide on your favorite oil and/or vinegar. Although Olive the Above is mainly an olive oil and vinegar speciality store, they offer wonderfully looking honey, syrups and more, as well as unique mugs, kitchen wares and more. After sampling a fare share of both oil and vinegar, I was completely sold on the coconut balsamic vinegar. It was amazing!! I am sold on this store & the employees and I cannot wait to recommend Olive the Above to anyone I talk to!

Dirty rooms with mold. No privacy. FALSE advertising…read more The photos of the rooms are beyond misleading. Privacy is non-existent. You can hear through the walls. Almost all of rooms are just modified duplexes/apartment buildings with shared entryways and balconies. We booked one room for almost $500 a night for a romantic evening and they tried to put us in a cheaper room thinking we would not notice. It was damp, moldy and I found a bug in the room. Once I complained that it did not match our reservation, they suddenly told us about an alleged A/C issue and tried to put us in a "better room". The furniture was damaged and the shower was moldy in that room and in NO way was this comparable to the reservation we made a month prior. Park passes, breakfast and bicycle rentals are "complimentary" but yet they charge you $18 a day resort fee to have access. I do not recommend staying here at all.

Traditional inn in a pretty pink house with rooms decorated with old fashioned wardrobes and…read moreflowery wallpaper. Bed rather soft and bouncy which is always an issue with older lodgings. The place can use some updating and they seem to be doing that - part of the house is under construction looking like a new deck in the works and at night also work being done to the lobby. The room we booked is a "courtyard queen studio" which has the following description on the website - "Our Courtyard Queen Studio guest rooms are ideal for business or solo travelers. These rooms feature queen beds and stand-up showers. The upper-floor studios have private verandas that overlook the semi-private Lower Courtyard, and the ground studios have lovely front patios and gardens adjacent". However our room doesn't seem to match much of the description other than it has one queen bed, as the bathroom has a small tub, and we are on the second floor but no veranda (maybe second floor is not "upper floor"?). Anyway also not sure why they are called "studios" since it's just one standard room. Anyway other than that our overall stay is comfortable enough - the ceiling fan is a good feature. Breakfast is a bit of an issue however. The inn doesn't provide breakfast so you are given a voucher to have breakfast at one of two nearby cafes. Each voucher basically only subsidizes your breakfast by $7 or $10 respectively which is not enough to include coffee or tea and depending on what food you order will not cover the full amount of that either. That came as a surprise and is not what I'd expected when breakfast is supposed to be included. I don't mind going somewhere else for breakfast but the voucher should cover a set menu that includes at the very least breakfast food and beverages.

They have both prepared foods and foods that they make to order. I love that you can take food to go, sit inside or outside. It is in a strip with ample parking. Definitely follow their social media so you can see various specials they have going. I have yet to try something. I don't absolutely love. Do yourself a favor and try this place!

THIS IS MY FOOD WONDERLAND…read more My first time coming across a concept like this where there's ready-made food, cafe, pantry goods, catering options, and more. This is the second time I've been to The Kitchen and I don't even live in South Carolina. I bought around $200 worth of delicious pulled pork baked potatoes, toad pizza, pasta sauce, lasagna, oatmeal crème cookie, peanut butter pie, chicken spaghetti squash, wraps, salads, sides, meatloaf, and more! This is the perfect solution to not wanting to cook but still getting a delicious hot meal ready for the whole family. They have everything in their fridges and freezers, the only issue is trying to keep it all in-stock all the time because the food is just flying off the shelves. Prices may seem steep at first but one "full" container is easily a meal for two people and at around $20, that's a typical price. The convenience, quality, quantity, and variety of items prevails over the cost. I've tried a good number of items and everything has been delicious. Not salty, not too sweet, not heavy or greasy...just perfectly homemade and well-balanced. The cooking instructions are all exactly on point as well. The Kitchen is what every city needs, well-priced, nutritious food that is ready to grab and go. Everyone working inside is very nice, all items are clearly displayed, signs are easy to read, enough space that it doesn't get crowded everywhere. Don't leave without picking up an oatmeal crème pie.
