Overnight, not only did they eliminate the lunch special, they raised prices by 33%. A plate is now nearly $18 after tax and a salad with chicken is $19! I have ordered from Olive Mediterranean Grill several times for my staff at work and each time it was a hit, so I decided to order again for a large group we were feeding in another department before a meeting. I ordered a large package for 50 people which included Mediterranean salad, hummus and pita bread, chicken shawarma, steak shawarma, chicken kabobs, yellow rice, falafel and a variety of 3 different sauces, It was a nice spread. The food was as good as always, except we had 2 issues: 1) My requested delivery time was 11:30. At 11 am, the delivery driver called me to say he had arrived, but I was in a meeting and could not answer my phone. I then received a text that he had left my order in the lobby. I specifically stated in the instructions NOT to leave my food in the lobby, because we had issues with theft before. 2) On the order, my special instructions stated nothing spicy. The chicken kabobs are spicy, thus the request to make them mild as not everyone in this group can tolerate spicy food and this was their request to me. The chicken kabobs were spicy!! They completely disregarded what I asked for. And if they couldn't accommodate me, they should have contacted me before fulfilling the order. For a $1,000 order, I expect better!! read more

If you live / work anywhere near the South Loop,I would highly recommend Olive Mediterranean Grill as a quick, delicious (and bonus: healthy) option for lunch. It has definitely become my Work From Home staple. You cannot go wrong with the OMG platter which comes with your choice of meat and two sides + a pita. Everything tastes fresh and the portions are big enough to last you through the work time grind. I love their beef shawarma and hummus. The meat is wonderfully spiced and the hummus is creamy and flavorful. I've gotten the Mediterranean salad before (which I would recommend skipping), but the other sides are worth it. I actually eat at the location inside Chicago French Market at Ogilvie train station. It is always so delicious, reasonably -priced, friendly, healthy, and what I order comes in sustainable packaging. Their location within French Market is on northeast side, near the largest sitting area of the market. First time trying this location for lunch, with no real expectations. At this particular location service is fast & prompt. I went ahead and tried the Chicken Shawarma in which the chicken was seasoned nicely, the naan bread was fresh but I would've liked the other ingredients to pop more. I like the concept, & do feel that it's not necessarily worth the price. I've tried other Mediterranean restaurants/dishes and this location doesn't hit it on the nail for me personally. Discovered Olive Mediterranean Grill through the Ritual App and have been hooked since. I work in a dead area in the Loop where the food options aren't that great especially in the winter year when you don't want to leave your office. Was craving food with lots of flavor and Olive Mediterranean Grill or just Mediterranean food in general was on my list of things I wanted to eat. I was a bit skeptical because of the reviews on Yelp (the power of Yelp). However Olive is pretty solid. It's a bit pricey for lunch as you're going to spend over $10 with tax on lunch here but I felt like the food was fresh. The hummus is extremely fresh, the salad (I always get chickpea), is very fresh, and I thought the chicken was very well made and seasoned. I really have no complaints when I get lunch here. Can they lower the price? Sure. Can they give you more chicken? Yeah but when it comes to taste, the freshness of the food, it's a solid lunch option. Today I ordered lunch from Olive Mediterranean Grill, a mini-chain of restaurants that recently opened a location on Van Buren near Wells. Its exterior front door facing Van Buren has a small sign directing customers to enter through its interior entrance connected to the lobby of the office building. I ordered an "OMG Plate" (initials of the place - get it?) featuring spicy chunks of chicken kabob. Actually the kind server offered me a small bite of the chicken to taste and it was really not that spicy, so I went with it. You go down the menu and order various sides. The chicken was served on a bed of farro (wheat grain), and I also chose chick pea salad. I thought I ordered baba ghanouj, but received something green (I think this was Persian yogurt), which went well with the half circle of pita bread. Overall the meal was fine and fresh-tasting, though nothing really sang to my taste buds. Also the price point seems a tad higher than similar Mediterranean restaurants in the area. read more

Omg! So good! This place is conveniently located near my home, so it's my go to place for lunch. I think I pretty much tried everything from plates to sandwiches which are delicious! So, glad that they are open back up after being shutdown for a couple of months due to COVID. It's super clean and spotless inside. This review is specifically for their lentil soup. It was delicious. I'm Indian and love my lentils. This didn't have the Indian spice that i like but wasn't expecting it from a Mediterranean place. I am dying to update my review to a 5 star rating but it's infuriating how inconsistent this place is! Their food can be fantastic, I dream about the spicy chicken! But the store is messy, they're often out of things, their pop machine is practically empty, and the cooler where they keep canned drinks must be broken because everything is lukewarm. Today my meal was less than stellar. The hummus was such a strange consistency it felt like I was eating play doh and the veggies in the Mediterranean salad looked sad and wilted. I want to give them another shot because I love their food and the staff is wonderfully nice and helpful. First time my friend and I tried this place out. Not a good experience. The food was okay. Maybe a 6 or 7 out of ten. But when you walked through the door, BOOM! 90 degrees! We got two drinks with our order and we went to the machine to get our drinks and no ice. We asked for ice and they gave us four ice cubes.
