    OMG Plate - chicken kabob
    Samuel A.

Ordered OMG through my corporate delivery service. Food came hot and fresh. Portions were a bit small but plenty of variety of items to fill you up. I loved the cucumber yogurt dip. Made some pita pockets with the ingredients for a tasty combo. Be forewarned - the chicken kabob I ordered is pretty spicy. If you're not a spice lover like me, you may be in for a rough time. Pro tip - putting the yogurt over the chicken definitely toned down the spice to a more tolerable level. Thanks OMG!

I have ordered from Olive Mediterranean Grill several times for my staff at work and each time it was a hit, so I decided to order again for a large group we were feeding in another department before a meeting. I ordered a large package for 50 people which included Mediterranean salad, hummus and pita bread, chicken shawarma, steak shawarma, chicken kabobs, yellow rice, falafel and a variety of 3 different sauces, It was a nice spread. The food was as good as always, except we had 2 issues: 1) My requested delivery time was 11:30. At 11 am, the delivery driver called me to say he had arrived, but I was in a meeting and could not answer my phone. I then received a text that he had left my order in the lobby. I specifically stated in the instructions NOT to leave my food in the lobby, because we had issues with theft before. 2) On the order, my special instructions stated nothing spicy. The chicken kabobs are spicy, thus the request to make them mild as not everyone in this group can tolerate spicy food and this was their request to me. The chicken kabobs were spicy!! They completely disregarded what I asked for. And if they couldn't accommodate me, they should have contacted me before fulfilling the order. For a $1,000 order, I expect better!!

If you live / work anywhere near the South Loop,I would highly recommend Olive Mediterranean Grill as a quick, delicious (and bonus: healthy) option for lunch. It has definitely become my Work From Home staple. You cannot go wrong with the OMG platter which comes with your choice of meat and two sides + a pita. Everything tastes fresh and the portions are big enough to last you through the work time grind. I love their beef shawarma and hummus. The meat is wonderfully spiced and the hummus is creamy and flavorful. I've gotten the Mediterranean salad before (which I would recommend skipping), but the other sides are worth it. Overall, give this place a definite try for a lunch you won't feel bad about eating. And they also have a business lunch special as well for $9 which is a great deal!!

I actually eat at the location inside Chicago French Market at Ogilvie train station. It is always so delicious, reasonably -priced, friendly, healthy, and what I order comes in sustainable packaging. Their location within French Market is on northeast side, near the largest sitting area of the market. I highly recommend the baba ganoush, labneh, tabouli, salmon... but everything I've had has been wonderful.

First time trying this location for lunch, with no real expectations. At this particular location service is fast & prompt. I went ahead and tried the Chicken Shawarma in which the chicken was seasoned nicely, the naan bread was fresh but I would've liked the other ingredients to pop more. I like the concept, & do feel that it's not necessarily worth the price. I've tried other Mediterranean restaurants/dishes and this location doesn't hit it on the nail for me personally. Although, my personal experience was mediocre I would still say if you're feeling the itch to try it go ahead.

Discovered Olive Mediterranean Grill through the Ritual App and have been hooked since. I work in a dead area in the Loop where the food options aren't that great especially in the winter year when you don't want to leave your office. Was craving food with lots of flavor and Olive Mediterranean Grill or just Mediterranean food in general was on my list of things I wanted to eat. I was a bit skeptical because of the reviews on Yelp (the power of Yelp). However Olive is pretty solid. It's a bit pricey for lunch as you're going to spend over $10 with tax on lunch here but I felt like the food was fresh. The hummus is extremely fresh, the salad (I always get chickpea), is very fresh, and I thought the chicken was very well made and seasoned. I really have no complaints when I get lunch here. Can they lower the price? Sure. Can they give you more chicken? Yeah but when it comes to taste, the freshness of the food, it's a solid lunch option. Make sure to get your free points through Ritual if you have it, and also there's 7% cash back through Yelp so make sure you activate that!

Actually just visited NEW location on 161 W Van Buren . Authentic middle eastern fast food. Great hummus, chicken and beef shawarma plate. Fresh baked bread!!!! Clean and friendly. Falafel is baked not fried so it's healthy and tasty!!! Reasonable prices Bravo OMG

This is a very small place but the food is very tasty and fresh. The Chicken Shawarma and rice was excellent. The picture that I posted is the meal (plus 1/2 Pita) for $11.00. Good portions and good food fast.

Chicken Kabob plate. Solid portion of protein and rice/couscous are on point.

From the food and ambiance to the consistently outstanding service, everything is truly top-tier. This visit was just as exceptional as every one before it. We shared the Sweet Corn Hummus, Spicy Whipped Feta, Brussels Sprouts, Crispy Wild Mushrooms, Crispy Potatoes, Grilled Chicken, and the Lamb & Beef Kefta. Every single dish was outstanding. I wish I had taken more photos, but we were too busy enjoying the food as it arrived at the table! For drinks, my sister loved the Strawberry Rose Paloma, and I enjoyed a glass of Kir-Yianni Sparkling Rosé, which paired beautifully with the meal. The warm, seasoned pita deserves its own recognition. It's soft, pillowy, and absolutely addictive. Honestly, it's hard not to fill up on the pita and spreads before the rest of the meal even arrives. Our server struck the perfect balance between friendly and attentive, without ever feeling intrusive. We usually make room for dessert, but we were completely stuffed this time. In the past, though, I've loved both the Warm Sticky Date Cake and the Frozen Greek Yogurt, and I'd recommend either without hesitation. I was secretly hoping for a tiny scoop of frozen yogurt as a birthday surprise, but my server didn't mention it and I didn't remind him of the celebration (and honestly, we were way too full anyway ). As a huge Top Chef fan, it's always special dining at Chef CJ Jacobson's restaurant. I had the opportunity to meet him during my very first visit to Ema, and he was incredibly gracious. His creativity and attention to flavor are evident in every dish. Ema continues to set the standard for what a great dining experience should be. It's the restaurant I recommend most often when people ask me where to eat in Chicago, and it remains my go-to place for special celebrations. I can't wait to come back again soon! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad PS: the hotel next door no longer provides parking validation.

The space is beautiful--open, bright, full of natural light, and stylish without feeling overdone. We ordered the Short Rib Shakshuka, which was flavorful with just a hint of spice and a generous portion size. The warm, soft pita served alongside was perfect for dipping. The Steak and Eggs was also excellent--the steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, and the fried potatoes were a standout: crispy on the outside while still moist and tender inside. Portion sizes were just right. We also tried both of the recommended brunch cocktails, and they were strong, flavorful, and well balanced. Service from Mike was great--friendly, efficient, and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, Aba delivered a polished and enjoyable brunch experience. First-Their free bread is served hot and fresh, and the sauces they come with are so flavorful! I will always get seconds because they're just that good. -Their Baba Ghanoush was one of the best Baba Ghanoush I have ever had (I don't say this lightly). It was very smokey and savory. The pomegranate on top perfectly complements it. -Arnibit (Cauliflower): People like this one a lot, but I personally think it's just the presentation that is appetizing. It tasted like a regular cauliflower, and I wished the sauce complemented and infiltrated the cauliflower more. It felt like I was eating two separate things. -Mixed Grill: the chicken and the beef were juicy and well made. The kefta was the star. It was soft and so well seasoned, and every time I order it I wish we could have more. My only comment would be that we wish the portions are bigger, considering the price was pretty expensive. This could only fill one person in my opinion. Nevertheless I love it. They also have very specific and unique dishes that you don't normally see at bigger restaurants. We have tried some before and they were not bad (but again just wished the portions were bigger) Overall we recommend this place. Baba Ghanoush and the Kefta are musts!

After another friendly greeting, we were seated and given a quick explanation of the options for our meal and for drinks, as well. One of us ordered the #7 cocktail, sa'baa, which we considered to be medium-sweet, as far as gin-based, fruit-forward cocktails are concerned. Perfectly balanced, in the opinion of the primary drinker. (Me!) My favorite gin cocktail in a while. (#7 SA'BAA COCKTAIL, 5/5) Another member of our party of 3 ordered the #0 N/A SIFR cocktail, which I felt was perhaps the only underwhelming flavor of the evening. However, the order-er of this cocktail thought it was good. (#0 N/A SIFR COCKTAIL 3.5/5) We debated the merits of a la carte versus tasting menu, and went with the tasting menu for all three of us, given our level of late-Friday hunger. Prepare the have ample left over if you opt for the tasting menu without an appetite to match. TASTING MENU OPENING COURSE: Hummus, 4.5/5 For the opening course, we were served the hummus and pita. If you prefer a sturdy amount of pita with every spoonful of hummus, do yourself a favor and order an extra pita per person. The hummus is beautifully seasoned, with just enough oil to provide a sumptuously-smooth texture that delivers the pepper and other flavors with perfect balance. Delicious. (HUMMUS w/ PITA, 4.5/5) TASTING MENU SMALL PLATES COURSE: Scallops (5/5), lamb kebab (4.5/5), maitaki roasted mushroom (5/5) The server and kitchen collaborated nicely to delivery each course perfectly-cooked and perfectly-timed. Despite our late seating, we never felt rushed. All three diners at our table, myself enthusiastically included, felt that this second course was the strongest out of the four courses offered with the tasting menu. Scallops are delightfully and delicately seasoned and briefly flame-kissed, served on top of a luscious, peppery orange sauce. Good lord, what a bite. We wanted five hundred of these. (SCALLOPS, 5/5) The lamb kebab can really only be faulted for how little we were given. I'd hope for a bigger portion. If you know you'll love it, which you will, just order a bonus order of this. (LAMB KEBAB, 4.5/5) Maitaki mushroom. Whew! Just getting started and hitting it out of the park with this one. I strongly felt that this was the strongest bite of the entire meal, though my companions landed firmly on the scallop for this title. A mushroom of this quality cooked with this skill is genuinely difficult to find in all but a few high-end spots, so consider this a rare opportunity and treat. ORDER THE MAITAKI! I will have words for this restaurant if this particular preparation of this particular mushroom ever departs their menu. (MAITAKI, 5/5) TASTING MENU ENTREE COURSE: Ravioli-type Manti-and-morel-mushroom thing (4.5/5), branzino (5/5), lamb shank (4/5) Not as much to say about this course. Obviously delicious, but the branzino was a standout. Maybe if we came again we'd order JUST the branzino from this list, especially if we weren't as hungry. It's so good. Not overly-salty like many fish dishes prepared in this manner. Wow. TASTING MENU DESSERT COURSE, toasted strawberries and cream (4.5/5) This is served cold. It is better that it is. It is very good. Quality berries and quality cream were used. SERVICE WAS SO GOOD! Whoever from the restaurant sees this, if anyone does, ought to track down whoever it was that was serving Nidhi, party of three, on Friday, 06/19 and give them a medal or something. Service like this is a class above what I'd even expect of a restaurant at this price point.

On a Monday night, my fiance & I spontaneously decided to go out for dinner on our way to grocery…read moreshop, so we were a bit underdressed compared to other patrons lol. In hindsight, it would've been a great opportunity to dress up & make a more formal date out of it but we had fun nonetheless. We called to ask if they were taking walk-ins but the person who answered seemed a bit unsure. We decided to check it out anyways and were able to be seated at the bar. The atmosphere was neat, modern, with sleek lines. Service was fine but nothing remarkable. It was our first time dining and I do wish they explained the menu to us. For example, we were unaware that the meat dishes did not come with rice until later. Additionally, it was difficult to ascertain how much food we were ordering and if we were ordering "correctly." Keep in mind some of the cocktails are pre-batched so you're unable to adjust certain aspects. For context, I am not a huge fan of Mediterranean food but my fiance is and we always enjoy exploring different dishes and cuisines. We spent about $120 and left full (take our fullness with a grain of salt because we did eat a few hrs before). For our spread, we got the Eggplant ($18, gf, nuts) which had Tahini Yogurt, Mint, Pine Nuts. It came with a single pita bread so we ordered an extra. The Eggplant spread had pomegranates which was surprising and added a refreshing tartness to the dish. I enjoyed it, but don't think I would order it again or find myself craving it. For our small plate, we ordered the Grilled Asparagus with Smoked Labneh, Hazelnuts, Urfa Chili Crunch ($22, dairy, nuts). Now THIS...is something to write home about. 10/10. Amazing. It was tender with a little crunch, perfectly smokey and sweet, and addicting. Vegetable dishes can be "just fine" but I would consider this comparable to the satisfaction you get from an entree. I WILL be craving this (my fiance also agrees). For our side, we got the Batata Harra ($12, gf, v) which were crispy fried potatoes tossed in a spicy sauce. Usually potatoes can be very plain but this was very well seasoned in the sauce, a little too much in my opinion. The sauce had seeped into the potatoes to the point it became very soggy and almost too salty despite the plain potato interior. Rice probably would have been a better option. From the grill, we got the Lamb Kebab ($26, gf, halal) with Tzatziki and Sumac Onions and Tiger Prawns ($26, gf) with Toum & Harissa Emulsion, Lemon, Dill. For the price of the lamb kebab, it came as a single skewer which was pretty steep for the price. Fortunately for us (and unfortunately for my fiance's wallet), it was some of the best lamb we have had. It was super tender, flavorful, not gamey, and you did not even need the tzatziki which is a big compliment in my book as a Sauce Girl. There were 2 Tiger prawns and although they were big, I wish we were aware it would only be 2. Once again...we loved it. The prawns were well cooked with a nice tenderness and subtle snap. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I am not sure if I would return, but it was a fun experience and I can definitely see myself ordering the grilled asparagus for take-out.
