I had the chicken thigh kebob and honestly it tastes very similar to what you get at Raffi's, maybe even better. So juicy, flavorful and comes in huge portions. I love how they have a variety of basmati rices like raisin, cherry, apricot, or barberry. I got the orange one and the subtle sweetness was a great balance to all the savory flavors. We used to go there for very many years and it was always great, but something has changed the last couple of times. The service was great and the ambience quite pleasant, and we were told the owner was the same, but the food is not the same as before. The baba ganoush and the beef koobide were good as before. However, the lamb shank in tomato sauce is much smaller, the taste is great but you get much less meat for $25. The salad dressing used to taste great but it had no taste and the falafel has become very hard so we did not finish it. All in all, it was a sad and disappointing experience. read more

The dolma is among the best I've tasted. The way that the leaves are marinated and rice is seasoned it a nice full flavor and texture. Stay away from the falafel, little fried and dried out balls of flavorless dry garbanzo bean balls. Baba ghanouj a magnificent flavorful tasty paste with the consistency of snot. Now, if you mix the baba ghanouj with the falafel, add some hummus in a pita, throw in a scope or 2 of the orange rice, some mint and radish in to a wrap, a little yogurt dip and BAM, you have an amazing pita on the go. The consistency, textures, and flavors meld into a delicious good on the go sandwich that is filling and satisfying. Plain hummus is among the top best plain, plain hummus I've hummed, did I mention it was plain. Here is what I have tried: Olive Branch Combo Kebab - Combination of: chicken breast kebab, beef shish kebab, lamb kebab. I've been on a Mediterranean food binge as of late, I yelped until I was blue in the face trying to find a good Mediterranean restaurant to go to at my lunch hour. Coworker and I decided to go to this place, it had mixed reviews, but for the most part they were pretty good. Right off the bat, the waitress here (she's probably one of the owners or at least the owners wife) was very cold and unwelcoming. It almost looked as thought something traumatic happened to her and she was thinking about other things. I noticed that the lady that walked in right before us had actually gotten up and left, that probably should have been a red flag. We were served pita bread and onion, mint and radishes in a little bowel. You know, because we eat onions, radishes and mint together all the time on pita bread. I know, right? Pita bread was not warm either. Both my coworker and I ordered the chicken breast kebabs with rice. I also opted to get a side salad because I was that hungry. I was pleasantly surprised that the salad was indeed THAT good. The dressing tasted great and homemade. I love that good homemade taste :) So it pretty much took about 15 minutes for the waitress to even take our order after sitting down, then another 15 minutes for her to acknowledge that we wanted to order. I just thought I'd add that in there as it's not a good idea to dine here if you only have an hours worth of time. Chicken kebab was probably the best I've had in town, a little spritz of lemon and I was in heaven. The rice, tender, fluffy and that that salty zing to it. For a second I almost forgot about the horrible service until..... Can we please have some to go boxes and the check? ::no response:: Oh, thank you. Our friends took us to the Olive Branch in La Crescenta for dinner tonight. It was incredible!!! Seriously the best Mediterranean Food I have ever had! I had the Lamb Shank with the Lima Beans Rice. Their food is delicious! We have had the salmon, luleh, shish kabob, cherry rice, eggplant with beef, it's all so tasty! Serving portions are huge and we did it family style. Grilled veggies are also delicious, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, you can't go wrong with anything here. The lentil soup is also comforting. They also have live music on certain nights of the week. Time for an update. Ordered kabob takeout today and the food was very good. I ordered two orders of steak kabob and the yogurt and cucumber dip. The containers are full of basmati rice and the kabob portions are large and sit on top of the rice with their juices oozing onto the rice. I ordered the kabob to be done medium-well and they were done just as ordered. Our family comes here often for our fun gatherings! They have 2 vegetarian stews on their menu. Gheimeh bademjun and gormehsabzi ( sorry for the misspellings hehe) with tofu which is a total big plus! Unlike typical Persian restaurants, they don't give you a plateful of rice. I guess that's good and bad hehe. Each dish comes with soup or salad. Small parking lot in the back, but if you park there you have to climb up like twenty steep stairs, so if you have bad knees, try finding street parking in the front. read more

As for looks, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside looked nice clean and pretty much up to date. This looks like a nice place where you could go to for a nice evening date. It was big enough to split (or big enough to have by yourself and be full). Now the Cherry Rice with Chicken Kabob (we ordered white meat) looked and smelled great. A very nice presentation!
