Called for a quote early Tuesday and Olivares came that day for a free quote. The quote was lower then the other local companies we received quotes from. We decided to go with Olivares company and we are thrilled at the job they completed . They trimmed 3 large Eucalyptus trees in our back yard. They where very thorough and did an excellent job protecting our statues and cleaned up afterwards. Will definitely use them again and highly recommend them. read more

I spoke to 4 tree services and my own gardener. Efran gave me equivalent price but throw in removing an oak shrub that others charge 80 on. We did need to reschedule my job because of conflict, but Efran gave me a good heads up. I was not in a hurry with my trim also. Then when his crew came, lead by Victor, they trim to exactly what I wanted. They trimmed/cut away more than 50% of the 3 trees and a tall hedge foliage/branches that some were touching the wires. They also did a good cleaning up. I would recommend them and go with them again next time I need a trim. My trim is in San Mateo. read more

They came to my house in time and did a great job! They trimmed a big tree, removed a mid sized tree for us and cleaned up the work places including my neighbors' backyard. Thanks Victor, juan, monir for your wonderful services. Definitely would recommend you to others whenever I get a chance. read more

A large tree limb fell on a vehicle in our parking lot and Olivares Tree Service answered the call right away and did a fast professional job. They are coming back to trim these trees next week, which are overdue. Friendly service at a fair price. I'll be using them regularly going forward. read more

Efran and his team are great to work with. Prompt, professional, and highly affordable. Been using him for a few years now and am happy to recommend them. read more

Olivares Tree Service did work for me today. They were prompt, friendly, cleaned up after the job and even took care of a couple of extra items I asked for at no extra charge. They were also polite to my neighbor, who can be a bit opinionated. My job took about 4.5 hours for a crew of 5 men. They trimmed about 12 trees and shaped them, including my very old and gorgeous olive tree. Everything was done thoroughly and they checked with me whenever there was a question. Their price wasn't the cheapest but they weren't the most expensive either- mid range prices but high end service! I'd highly recommend them and will absolutely use Olivares Tree Service again. read more

Just awesome! I called a couple of arborists before finding Efren and his team and I'm so glad I went with them! Efren came out promptly to share a bid which and started the work 2 days later. He was professional, friendly, came when he said he would (priceless in our area!!!). Most of all for me as a tree lover, he has an aesthetic and doesn't just hack away at your tree, but truly leaves your garden better. I cannot suggest him and his team more, he is our new go-to for all tree work in our home! read more

A huge oak tree in my back yard fell after the series of storms this year. I called Olivares Tree Service and explained this was an emergency situation. Efrain came to help right away in the stormy weather. They spent 2 days to chopped down the huge tree and clean up the whole yard, right before another windy storm hit bay area. It was very easy and pleasant to work with them. I would definitely recommend them for any tree removal job. read more

A 50+ foot Monterey Pine (1 of 4), split in half during this latest Atmospheric River event. The monster of a tree was endangering three houses. The team at Olivares Tree Service came out same day and took down the tree with such precision. I am amazed at how efficient, organized and hard-working this team is at their skill. The team on the ground were as if they were in the Olympics, non-stop running back and forth! 100% recommend the team at Olivares. read more

Highly recommend! Very prompt with response & quote, excellent price, crew did a great job - efficient, precise & great clean up.

An excellent, responsive and professional team. I needed a quick turn around Tree trimmer and pruning job because our neighbor complained my tree is over grown and over his side. Efrain of Olivares Tree Service answered my call immediately and made a quick on site assessment of the job. In an hour I had a quote. Efrain was straight forward and provided a week timeframe schedule. I gave him the job over other quotes because he had the best quote and most of all he was very responsive. He got the job done three days earlier. He over delivered on the scope of work and the team of 3 were professional and cleaned after the job. I will recommend Efrain and team of Olivares Tree Services anytime. I will not waste anytime getting other competitive quotes again. read more

Again, Olivares Tree Service arrived promptly, quickly & efficiently trimmed and shaped trees and were thoroughly professional and courteous throughout the job. This is my go-to tree trimmer and I am more than pleased to recommend Efron and his crew. read more

Quick, safe, reasonably priced! Prompt returned calls. Met and surpassed all expectations! Great job! Thanks

I'm extremely pleased with the excellent work this crew did for my backyard. I got a quote from Efrain to remove 2 (8ft Yucca trees) and 3 tree stumps. Total of 5 tree stump grinds, for $700. I had gotten quotes from many other places ranging from $700 - $3000 for the same amount of work. Efrain and his crew appear to be a family business. They have a hard work ethic, and ridiculously reasonable prices. The work 2 men and 1 female did for me was extremely hard labor. They spent well over 5 hrs at my place, chainsawing, grinding, shoveling, and hacking at the tree stumps. I felt this work was well worth the money spent! I would call up Efrain and his crew again in a heartbeat! read more

I was absolutely pleased with the work that Efran and company did last Saturday. When I called my husband to wake him up before 9:00 for the service that was going to begin he told me that the workers were already in place taking down the first tree in front of the house. Next came the 75 + foot tree. His team worked strategically chain sawing limb by limb. Efran ran the crew so comfortably and always kept his eyes on the guy in the tree. The price was the best. I can now sleep very comfortably knowing that the huge pine tree limbs will not break off!!!!! His crew was courteous and very proffesional. I would definetly use this company again. Thanks again Efran for a wonderful job you and your crew did for my husband and I. read more

I have worked with Efran twice. We had 4 medium/large sized trees on our property. We asked Efran for a quote and got our answers very quickly. His pricing was very reasonable. It so happens that he lives a few blocks from us. Couldn't ask for better service! read more

I have used Olivares. Every year or so in the summer and they never disappoint. They always take care of the area in which they work and do a great job of tree removal or trimming every time. Ive recommended them to anyone who is in need of tree care and they are always happy as well. Thank you! read more

Getting ready for another dry summer and needing general clean up, Olivares & crew did a phenomenal job. We have a large lot with loads of oaks, Scotch broom, and other voluntary plants. What was supposed to take 1-1/2 days to prune and clean, they did in one day. My yard is clean, and my oaks are "window-paned." read more

We have several large trees on our property, and during a large rainstorm in early 2018 one of our large trees took up too much water and dropped a huge limb in our front yard. For just about every tree company we called, that meant an opportunity to try and gouge us. Not Olivares Tree Service. Yes,there was a small premium to pay for short notice, but the price was very reasonable. A few months later, we brought Olivares Tree Service back to remove a very tall, mature Monterey pine from our yard that unfortunately became infested with bark beetles. We were concerned that taking down such a large tree would cause damage to our other trees nearby, including a smaller tree underneath the pine. The other tree services that tried to price gouge us when we lost the limb told us that they would "never" be able to save the smaller tree, and would probably damage our mature apple and red cedar trees. Well, Olivares Tree Service was able to take down the Monterey pine without causing any damage to the other trees, and saved the smaller tree underneath the pine. Very professional and hardworking crew, highly recommend. Their price for taking down the pine was competitive with the other quotes received. read more

Highly recommended. Olivares was quick to respond. They showed up early and not only did what we requested but also cleaned up yard debris that was not related to their job. I will definitely use them regularly for tree work. read more

We needed a medium size orange tree and three smaller trees chopped down in our backyard. They came over right away and gave me a very reasonable and fair quote. The work is impeccable and I would never know that trees were ever there. They were quick and cleaned up the space really well. They were also very friendly. I would hire them again in a second! read more

It's my second time working with them. Great job and pleasure to work with. Thank you!

Efrain and the team are punctual and super efficient, they finished tree trimming (6 trees) and gutter cleaning with 2.5 hours and price is reasonable. I will not hesitate to hire them next time! read more

Olivares Tree Service promptly replied to our request for a quote to trim, shape, and strip ivy from an 80' redwood tree planted in our backyard in Burlingame by my wife's grandfather nearly 100 years ago. Olivares' quote, by Efrain, was the lowest we received, and the work was scheduled for the very next week. The team arrived right on time (even a little early), and set up for a long day of climbing, trimming, and removing tree limbs. What great teamwork they displayed. Everyone had a job to do. Not too different from a minor league Cirque de Soleil performance. They were very respectful of the backyard furniture and garden, and when cleaning up even added a little gutter cleaning to the job. I feel so much better for our redwood tree now that it's had a trim, and all the "poison" ivy has been stripped from her trunk. Her beautiful bark now stands unblemished. Highly recommend this team for your treasured trees. read more

We hired Olivares Tree Service to remove a large down oak tree on our sloping yard. They did a great job in removing all the branches/leaves and cut the main trunk into smaller length. My neighbor had a large tree that was leaning quite a bit and the trunk split and 1/3 of it grew on our side of the fence, so we decided for the safety of our houses, we needed to cut this tree down. Together, we got estimates from 5 different companies and Olivares Tree Service had the most competitive bid. They came the same day I called them for an estimate and got the job done (a few days later) within a little over 4 hours on Saturday, which was surprisingly fast considering one of the other companies said it would take them a day or two! Not only that, but for a little extra, they trimmed the branches off another tree, removed all the ivy on the trunk of that tree (which was slowly killing it), and removed a small tree in our yard. Afterwards, they cleaned up all the leaves and branches, even the ones that were there before they cut the tree down. I was amazed at how clean and professional everything was. I was impressed by this company's price, speed, and professionalism and would hire them again should any other trees need to be cut down someday. read more

Fast and efficient. Received same day service. Cut down 3 trees and removed all leaves and debris, including on neighbor's side. They were cheapest of three other businesses too. I recommend them. read more

Efrin and his team did a great job for us. Communication and time it took to set up an appointment was great, and he was very punctual - no wasted time. We had two large juniper trees trimmed down and thinned out to reduce weight, including several large limbs, a large yucca cleaned up and a neighbors's birch trimmed back. They seemed very skilled at climbing and took good precaution not to damage my existing plants, as well as managing their own safety. Efrin was there the entire time checking the angles so they knew exactly which branches to cut - loved that. Another arborist had recommended cutting down one of our trees entirely due to its slanted growth, but Efrin explained to me why he thought we should keep the tree (it was holding up the weight of a nearby tree) and I agreed with him after he explained. I was very happy with the aesthetics of how the tree turned out. When they were done, we thought a few branches could have been trimmed back more and they happily obliged without any complaint. It was important to them to make sure we were pleased. I would say that if you are a particular customer, you might want to be around to monitor the progress. Sometimes we had differing opinions of how much to cut something but they were great at either accommodating us or explaining why we shouldn't cut something. One problem we did have was they cut back our neighbors Birch Tree more then I had explained. This resulted in less privacy but I wasn't sure if I had just not communicated what I wanted properly and they happen to cut that part when I was out. The team did a great job cleaning up as best as they could. Unfortunately trimming juniper trees means a lot of shredded needles and it couldn't be removed from an area covered with bark. This made for a bigger mess than I hoped for, but I don't know what they could've done to prevent this. I would definitely use Oliveira's tree service again. Their quote was very competitive, their work was excellent, and mostly they were just a pleasure to work with. The crew were all extremely nice and accommodating and I enjoy working with people I like. It makes it a lot easier to spend so much money! read more

This company was amazing, my appointment was for 9am, they arrived at 8:30. They cut down a 40ft. Tree without damaging any of the trees around it. Removed the stump so well that the following weekend when we rototilled we didn't feel one single root. Amazing service! read more

We had a large number of trees on our half-acre property that were overgrown. I obtained four or five bids from highly-reviewed companies on Yelp, and this company had the most competitive bid by a significant margin. They removed (including grinding the stumps) and pruned a number of trees all around our property, and were very professional, careful and neat about it. We are very happy campers. They're also very responsive in their communications. read more

Can't ask for anything more. After the big, windy storm a tall, dead pine needed to go before falling over. Efrain Plascencia showed up the day I called, a few minutes early to give an estimate. His estimate was (by far) the best of 3. Efrain communicates well, has a nice smile and a friendly professional disposition. Today, the crew arrived a few minutes early, ready to work. He and his crew are finishing up now (as I write!) The tree came down, neat and clean. They are cleaning up after the work. Efrain and his crew (3 total) are courteous, accommodating, fast and are completing the job as promised, with a couple of other dead branches on other trees removed, no added cost. (Thank you!) Efrain showed me his documentation of insurance (I asked). Really, no complaints or suggestions for improvement. read more

Highly recommded! He took my job on short notice, cut down a tree very close to my garage without any damage, did extra work when I asked him. Most important he is very honest, when I counted my money wrong, gave him an extra bill, he promptly return it to me. Thank you! Great Job!! I had already referred him to my relatives. read more

I found Efrain and his crew to be excellent at their service. I recently called for a quote. Efrain showed up the next day and scheduled the job within 2 days. We had them come and trim our redwood tree primarily but they also included other trees on our property for a great price. Had to negotiate a bit, but he was very accommodating. His crew did an awesome job with the redwood, was very knowledgable on the health concerns of this beast and did a great cleanup job afterwards. Even got a little firewood out of the deal. Highly recommend his services on the peninsula. read more

(I don't write reviews, this is only the 3rd ever I've done for yelp, but felt Olivares was worth giving some praise.) When it comes to trimming trees, Efrain is an artist! He has a way of trimming a tree so that it looks natural and attractive afterwards. He has an eye for it. His crew was skillful and friendly. I could not have asked for better service! First class operation. We had a huge heritage oak tree that was dangerously hanging over onto the condos behind us. One half of it had already broken off and crashed onto our garage's roof. After fixing the garage, we knew we had to trim the other half or it would not also come crashing down on the parked cars of the condos. I watched most of the time (fascinated by the skills actually). When I gave change of instructions, Efrain always and courteously made the adjustments. His bid was tied for the lowest of the bids I got. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. read more
