Never use Gus and his crew He cut trees in our driveway (our property) without a permission , and he knew that those were our trees in our driveway and he still just went ahead and cut all the trees without our permission. Then, on a fencing project , His men started misbehaving with us, Using racial comments, threatening us, and saying you can't do anything about it . All this time while his car is parked in our driveway. We were referred to Gus by our neighbor. He came and did our trees which was great. One tree looks wonky which is fine for us bc we didn't want it touching our house. We hired him for another property of which the neighbor's tree was totally blocking the pathway. We asked him to trim our side. He decided to go one u scheduled morning while we were on a flight. Then he went the neighbor's side and trimmed so much of the neighbor's tree unauthorized that he said it's our fault we didn't answer his text while he's trimming. We never asked him to trim the tree on the neighbor's side. Now the neighbor is mad and is asking for a 6 digit compensation. We asked Gus about it and he was so rude to my husband and started yelling at him. Please don't use him. He'll be nice to you until something he did wrong happens. Then he'll deny and say it's your fault. There are lots of other tree trimming services. Use others. Not him please. read more

Came by for an estimate and agrees on the price to move forward however told Gus he needed to have a business license for city in order to do the work which did not have and said he could easily get one. Due to pandemic the city building dept is not allowing in person visits and forms needed to be mailed or emailed which I was happy to help him get. Gus seemed frustrated that he could not go in person on one call with me and basically stopped responding to my texts and calls about the job. Cowboys Tree Service is great! They were recommended to my by a friend and I couldn't be happier. I was looking into getting some bushes removed from my back yard. I called them up to set up an appointment to get an estimate on the work to be done. Gus showed up ON TIME and listened to everything I had to say and was glad to answer any questions that I had. We signed a contract with the owner to have two trees removed with expenses itemized - I.e. certain service was listed as an additional charge. Our contractor needed some minor changes to the plan and we no longer needed One of the extra services. Cowboy Tree Removal initially agreed to the cancellation of that portion and told us he would complete the work in a few days. He and his crew did not show up as he promised. We contactEd him. Now he said he woukd get it done in one week citing his crew were not working during that week. We accidentally saw his crew working at other properties during that time! After more than one week delay, we suddenly received a notice from him telling us that he no longer wanted to finish the work or carry out the contract ! Now we had to scramble to find another company to finish the job resulted in huge delay! We feel that Gustavo is dishonest, difficult and unfriendly We would not recommend his service. during the consultation, gus was very informative. the price was competitive and wasnt the cheapest, but what convinced us to use him was that he seemed to know what he was doing and felt trustworthy. on the day he was suppose to come, he actually didnt show up and i tried texting and calling but no response. it turned out his wife was giving birth! so obviously that was totally excuseable. he actually got back to me in a few hours and said he could come the next day. i told him we can reschedule and it was perfectly fine but he insisted the next day was fine. he arrived with his guys earlier than expected and did a great job the day after his wife gave birth! they did a great job and i would definitely recommend him to anyone who needed their trees trimmed and would hire him again no question. read more

I ended up with a 50' of beautiful hedge turned into a hacked mess 3' shorter then I asked and upon complainining Guss, the owner, agreed to do what he can to fix and finsih other portions of the job after I walked him through it a second time. Gus (the owner) gave me a free estimate and advised me on how to save my ailing redwood tree. 2 days later his crew showed up when i was getting ready to leave for work. I came home at lunch to check on them, they were making great process and Gus even gave me a torta (mexican sandwich).
