Gus continues to impress! We have used him 3 times now, we see him every 2 years or so for our tree in the front yard. He's friendly and professional. Gus is on time for both the estimate and the job. He and his team are quick, and leave the yard clean. And our tree always grows out very well. His rates are very competitive if not a bit better than other trimmers. Last thing, you can also text him at the phone number above too. I found him very responsive to both calls and texts. read more

I've worked with Gus and Cowboys Tree Service for about 10 years, and he has been to my property at least four times for different projects. Every experience has been excellent. Gus is reliable, professional, fairly priced, and genuinely pleasant to work with. He shows up when he says he will, completes the work on time, and leaves the property clean when the job is finished. Over the years, I've trusted him with multiple trees and have always been very happy with both the work and the experience. I noticed a few very negative reviews here, and I can only say that they don't reflect my experience with Gus at all. After working with him repeatedly over the course of a decade, I've found him to be dependable, straightforward, respectful, and easy to work with. It's increasingly hard to find contractors you can call years later and know you're going to get the same reliable service. Gus is one of those people. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to others. read more

Never use Gus and his crew He cut trees in our driveway (our property) without a permission , and he knew that those were our trees in our driveway and he still just went ahead and cut all the trees without our permission. Then, on a fencing project , His men started misbehaving with us, Using racial comments, threatening us, and saying you can't do anything about it . All this time while his car is parked in our driveway. Never use Gus - his men are threatening, physically violent, and will use disgusting comments without any regard whether you even have a child with you! read more

Horrible guys - completely unprofessional and disgusting attitude towards customers. Had multiple issues and had to call the cops - beware before you use them for anything. Gus and his crew are complete jerks and do not know how to talk and behave decently. read more

The first time we had our trees trimmed, they did an excellent job. The second time , 2 years later, they did a horrible hack job. Neighbors even commented on what a terrible job they did and how bad our trees looked. Will not be using this company again. read more

We were referred to Gus by our neighbor. He came and did our trees which was great. One tree looks wonky which is fine for us bc we didn't want it touching our house. We hired him for another property of which the neighbor's tree was totally blocking the pathway. We asked him to trim our side. He decided to go one u scheduled morning while we were on a flight. Then he went the neighbor's side and trimmed so much of the neighbor's tree unauthorized that he said it's our fault we didn't answer his text while he's trimming. We never asked him to trim the tree on the neighbor's side. Now the neighbor is mad and is asking for a 6 digit compensation. We asked Gus about it and he was so rude to my husband and started yelling at him. Please don't use him. He'll be nice to you until something he did wrong happens. Then he'll deny and say it's your fault. There are lots of other tree trimming services. Use others. Not him please. read more

Cowboys Tree Service - A job well done - Tree Services Near Me

We recently used their services to remove our old leaning pine tree and they were very responsive and cleaned up after. job well done for a very reasonable price. Thanks Gustavo!! read more

Professional, quick, clean. They were the cheapest estimate we received and after asking around they had a great reputation. The red cedar they cut down was near 2 fences and power lines. They managed to get all the branches in our yard and they stayed far away from any power lines. 6 stars read more

We've had several tree services at our home and Cowboys Tree Service is by far the best. Gus arrived promptly to give us an estimate, managed to squeeze us into his busy schedule, was accurate with his assessment of a large tree, answered all our questions and did an incredible job. His pricing is reasonable and they cleaned up all debris after the job was completed. Thank you for such great work. Gus and his crew are amazing. 5 stars! read more

Gus has been servicing our oak trees and 50+ feet tall palm trees since 2009. Once again he came through. Having trees trimmed is never an inexpensive endeavor, however Gus is always so reasonable I never mind paying him for his service. Many thanks Gus read more

These guys did a big tree-cutting job for us this week and I'm super happy with their work! - The team works fast and the results look great. I was impressed by how they managed to cut a bunch of big unruly trees on slopy land and end up with a perfectly straight top line as seen from our ground floor. - Gus is obviously knowledgeable and gives good advice on how to achieve what we need e.g. a good view without harming the trees. - They accommodated all our additional requests at no extra cost. - Great price: we got two estimates for this job and Gus's price was only 60% of what the other company was asking. - Great communication throughout the whole process. Will definitely use this company again in the future and recommend them to all my neighbors. read more

Came by for an estimate and agrees on the price to move forward however told Gus he needed to have a business license for city in order to do the work which did not have and said he could easily get one. Due to pandemic the city building dept is not allowing in person visits and forms needed to be mailed or emailed which I was happy to help him get. Gus seemed frustrated that he could not go in person on one call with me and basically stopped responding to my texts and calls about the job. Not very professional in my book, too bad because I actually wanted to give him my business. read more

It has been a very good experience working with this company. They arrived on time for estimate, and were polite, professional, and honest. They told me that I can wait for another two years to trim my two big trees (saving more than $1000). They also arrived on time today to do the work. Everything is done as expected. Price-wise, I had three estimates, his is the best. I will recommend their services to my friends. read more

Cowboys Tree Service is great! They were recommended to my by a friend and I couldn't be happier. I was looking into getting some bushes removed from my back yard. I called them up to set up an appointment to get an estimate on the work to be done. Gus showed up ON TIME and listened to everything I had to say and was glad to answer any questions that I had. Oh and the estimate was FREE! On the day of removal Gus and his crew showed up once again ON TIME and got straight to work. Once the job was done they cleaned up the entire yard as if they weren't even there. Cowboys Tree Service did great work and they finished the job in good time. If you need yard work done Cowboys Tree Service is the company to call. The owner is a great person to work with. read more

My colleagues recommended Gus and Cowboys Tree Service to me for the removal of numerous huge tree stumps. Gus came out and looked at what was needed within a day or so of my calling him. The work that he and his crew did was perfect, the price was great and he's a very nice man. Totally pleasant experience and it didn't break the bank! I will refer friends and colleagues to Cowboys Tree Service and definitely use them again. read more

Absolute disaster, poor service! I ended up with a 50' of beautiful hedge turned into a hacked mess 3' shorter then I asked and upon complainining Guss, the owner, agreed to do what he can to fix and finsih other portions of the job after I walked him through it a second time. I walk inside and find out 20 minutes later that he decided to pack his tools and crew and leave withought notice with the job 1/2 done. read more

We signed a contract with the owner to have two trees removed with expenses itemized - I.e. certain service was listed as an additional charge. Our contractor needed some minor changes to the plan and we no longer needed One of the extra services. Cowboy Tree Removal initially agreed to the cancellation of that portion and told us he would complete the work in a few days. He and his crew did not show up as he promised. We contactEd him. Now he said he woukd get it done in one week citing his crew were not working during that week. We accidentally saw his crew working at other properties during that time! After more than one week delay, we suddenly received a notice from him telling us that he no longer wanted to finish the work or carry out the contract ! Now we had to scramble to find another company to finish the job resulted in huge delay! We feel that Gustavo is dishonest, difficult and unfriendly We would not recommend his service. He intentionally caused delay in our project. his customer service was terrible. read more

during the consultation, gus was very informative. the price was competitive and wasnt the cheapest, but what convinced us to use him was that he seemed to know what he was doing and felt trustworthy. on the day he was suppose to come, he actually didnt show up and i tried texting and calling but no response. it turned out his wife was giving birth! so obviously that was totally excuseable. he actually got back to me in a few hours and said he could come the next day. i told him we can reschedule and it was perfectly fine but he insisted the next day was fine. he arrived with his guys earlier than expected and did a great job the day after his wife gave birth! they did a great job and i would definitely recommend him to anyone who needed their trees trimmed and would hire him again no question. read more

Gus (the owner) gave me a free estimate and advised me on how to save my ailing redwood tree. 2 days later his crew showed up when i was getting ready to leave for work. I came home at lunch to check on them, they were making great process and Gus even gave me a torta (mexican sandwich). By the time I arrived back at 5:30 they were done and there was no trace of their ever being there. Now thats service. I referred a friend and Gus told me I could have a 20% discount on my spring clean up, if i so wanted it. Gus is a great guy, and the cowboys know their trees read more

Very happy to write a review for Gus and his crew with Cowboys Tree Service. I first met Gus back in 2014 when I needed someone to do some major clean up work on a large property I was developing in Oakland that had over 30 old oak trees on it. The trees had been neglected for many years and were in need of some major TLC. Gus provided a very reasonable quote, arrived on time each day of work, completed the job on time and left the entire area cleaner than when he had started. The trees looked amazing!! What more could I ask for? Since then, I have hired Gus and his crew remove a 4-story high avocado tree in San Francisco (they gave fresh avocados to all the neighbors) as well as many other tree trimming jobs up and down the Peninsula. I like working with Gus as he is easy to reach by phone or text and responds quickly after leaving a message. He does what he says he will do and stands by his quoted price. One of the best guys I've had the pleasure of working with. read more

We had two dead birch trees, pretty big ones in our front yard that needed to be cut a couple of months ago. We called a few tree services that came in and quoted exorbitant price for just cutting the tree not even stump removal. Gus and his team not only quoted very reasonable price they came and did a clean job in no time. Within couple hours our yard was clean as if there was no tree ever before! Very impressed with their quick and clean service. Highly recommend. read more

Gus has good prices, at first, i was a bit hesitant when he was recommended to me by a friend, he feels like a fast talker, but his prices beat my gardener hands down, after topping and trimming the trees, yes, they look raw, but they grow back, have to agree with other reviews about his punctuality and cleaning up after his work. read more
