Lovely location, kitchen with full stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and granite counter tops. Loft bedroom w/bathroom and back deck open to the grounds. Point Reyes park trails right next door. Lovely morning and evening walks - close to Tomales Bay Foods and Palace Grocery Store. Kristine gave us some tips about places to see. We loved Nick's Cove! Would stay here again. Pluses: Well stocked - kitchen included everything you could think of as far as dishes, pans, condiments, spices, paper products, Peet's coffee, teas and hot chocolate. Shampoo, conditioner, plenty of towels, you name it is stocked. Kristine even has pesto cubes in the freezer! Need to blow dry your hair, use the washer/dryer, pick some organic apples or wild blackberries? You've come to the right place. Clean and spacious, beautiful surroundings, close to town, just about everything you need is provided. One negative - Ceiling in the bathroom is low - my over 6 foot husband had to duck. But all in all - just a caution - not a reason to write this place off! Give it a try - you won't be disappointed!

There are plenty of bedrooms for all your friends. To get to them you take the spiral staircase up or down. On the bottom floor there are a couple of bedrooms, a bathroom and the apartment. Then up to the main floor, the next floor up is two more bedrooms and a bathroom. The next floor up is the octagon room and has amazing views. While not a bedroom it is spectacular to sit in, and if in the mood to sleep on the couches and fall asleep with those views. Across the bridge is the spa deck and sitting in the spa under the trees is so relaxing Staying here is really amazing. The owner and his family are the nicest people but you probably won't see the since they want you to enjoy yourselves and the tranquility of the area. Great little market on the way with and a tap room next door. Point Reyes is a quant town with good meat, awesome cheese and some great places to eat.

That is the most amazing rooms I've ever stayed in. You are up in the sky almost. After a certain hour, only you can use the deck with the oh yes, hot tub on it. I'd say the only minus to this place is you have to go outside to use the restroom. To reach this room from the inside you get to climb a spiral stair case and open the door like an attic style, or you can do the boring way and enter in from outside. Tony and Jan supply body wash, shampoo, and conditioner (Neutrogena Rainbath and Pantene at the time of my visit). Small wood-burning stove with logs and all the tools needed to keep a fire going. Wifi signal was great - I watched some Netflix and joined a Zoom meeting from my own computer and had no issues with either. Hot tub was great. Outdoor space to sit at a nice table with four chairs and a nice looking BBQ. I saw an elk roaming on the property, lots of quail and other birds (they have a pictorial guide of birds hanging by the front door right as you walk in). The yurt is on a gravel road. You pass the neighbor's sheep and horses as you drive in. Point Reyes Station is literally right around the corner - a 2-3 minute drive - with lots of food, great markets and shopping. Inverness is a 5-minute drive (if that). The yurt is very conveniently located. I passed Jan and Tony and Stella, their dog, on the way out one night - very friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. I will be thrilled when the opportunity comes to visit again!!

The yurt is charmingly rustic, clean, quiet, private, and the perfect location to access the many outdoor offerings of west Marin. We've only had one issue we had to contact them about over the years (no soap in the shower) and they took care of it very quickly.

That recently changed thanks to the recent overnight accommodations provided by the Black Heron Inn. Located in Point Reyes Station, about a 5-minute drive from downtown, it's the perfect place to stay when exploring Point Reyes. I had done quite a bit of research on accommodations in the area, but the options seemed to either be way too expensive or way too "patchouli" for my taste. The Black Heron Inn was the perfect fit for me and my wife. They have three guest rooms, and due to the lack of availability of the other rooms, I selected the Grand View Suite. And what a "Grand View" it was. My strong suggestion is not to plan too much during the late afternoon because you'll want to open a bottle of wine and enjoy the view from the outdoor deck or the dining room table before heading off to dinner for some oysters. The clean and well appointed rooms have a small refrigerator, a small microwave, and a toaster as well as dishes and silverware, so make sure to bring some ready to eat food with you to store in the room since food is not provided. We personally picked up some breakfast savories and sweets from Brickmaiden Breads, and our mornings were set. Coffee is provided along with a Cuisinart Coffee maker. If you don't like your coffee black or enjoy creamers, be sure to pack some milk for the fridge. The proprietors are pretty hands-off when it comes to guest interaction (which is just fine), but they are very responsive if necessary. One thing I did learn while talking to them briefly was that they have a lot of repeat customers. Based on our recent stay, I can see why!

Best place for you and your horse…read more.... Just got back from our mother daughter weekend, with my horse and my daughters pony. It was the best weekend I've ever had with my little girl. The drive there was a bit grooling, due to a bike race. When we finally got there, we put the horse away in their stalls and found some port in the living room, Nice! The room was nice and clean, breakfast was wonderful, good coffee, Tom was most helpful in giving me safe trails to take my daughter, great wifi, and he had some wonderful guests! To put it in a nut shell...I want gift certificates for my birthday, Christmas, Mothers Day, V-day, you get the picture!! Thank you Tom!

Absolutely wonderful stay here while we visited Point Reyes…read more I saw this spot on multiple instagram travel posts, and essentially planned a trip around staying here! They have numerous options for rooms, and I loved that the Market Flat had one bedroom with a king bed, another bedroom with a bunk bed, and a living room sleeper which was perfect for our group. Very friendly service- they emailed me multiple times before the trip with updates, and also readily accommodated requests (ie getting more space heaters) They have a beautiful backyard where people host weddings. Loved the river views, and the fire pits. They provide free smores kits at the front desk which is awesome! There are also blankets by the fire pits to stay warm at night. Also love the lounge room with free coffee/tea all day and the downstairs game room where they had an ample amount of board games and an old record player. Also thought it was nifty that they have tons of binoculars that you can rent out too, which came in handy for us at the Tule Elk Reserve! The Due West Market was also convenient to have- they mainly have drinks and some snacks; but I definitely appreciated the espresso drink options and a couple of fresh bakery goods from Due West We also ate at the on site restaurant Due West one night and enjoyed everything. Overall such a wonderful experience to stay here.

This is actually my first time writing a review for a hotel, so I'll try to be as helpful as I can. This was our second time staying here. I love the rooms. They are so comfortable and have wonderful, little touches added. The rooms have fireplaces, but instead of lighting a fire they give you a beautiful handmade, three wick candle that creates a beautiful display of flame. To help you sleep they give you a spray to scent your pillows with lavender. I love the high ceilings in the rooms I've stayed in, as well as the little balconies you can sit on. The hotel has a really good restaurant next door and has treats throughout the day. A very simple continental breakfast, some snacks and drinks in the afternoon, and in the evening the front desk had the makings of s'mores to bring out to the fire pit. The marshmallows were especially delicious! My only real complaint is the people who work the front desk were not the most helpful and seemed a bit awkward. One of them said they were new and didn't really know how to answer a few of my questions. I still love this place though despite the strange staff that works here.
