Pleasant service. We got steaks. They were well seasoned, the broccoli was tasty. No real complaints.

The food was great, but the service and atmosphere even better. I can't wait to go back.

When you go in, it looks like a total dive but when you see the menu and you taste the food, you'll forget all about how the place looks. You walk in and you're confronted with the bar which Shih Tzu about maybe 6 to 7 people. Looks like an old saloon. You walk in a little bit more and the two bathrooms are right there right in front of you. And to the left is the dining area. There's ample seating for about 50 people and the seating is wide open. There's also outdoor seating on their deck as well. The food fair is American food. They have good things like the Reuben. They're sweet potato fries to die for and a whole sleeve of other things. You can't miss trying this place out if you're in the area.

There's saloon doors to the dining room!!! These alone are worth visiting. Super cool. The service here was absolutely hands down amazing. Our server was super friendly and attentive. She was waiting on all the tables and one was a large party! She never once dropped the ball. Just a nice environment and relaxing space. The food is also great! We ordered mozzarella sticks, burger with fries, a Philadelphia cheesesteak with onions and sweet peppers (highly recommend), and a Rueben. Get the sweet potato fries!!! They are waffle fries and they are delicious. Ask for honey mustard for dipping. Everything was good and we didn't wait long at all for the food to come out. The menu is extensive and offers a great variety. We stopped here as we were traveling along the PA turnpike. It seems like it's a little far off, but you can jump right back in without going out of your way. This place is worth the drive. Plenty of parking and don't forget the saloon doors!!

I ordered the French dip which was amazing (beef sandwich with Au Jus dip). Trust me- get this! The surf and turf burger was alright- though we may be tough critics because we are from Maryland and love our lump crab cakes! The crab cake was a little extra fishy tasting but the burger and fries were good! Oreo cake was delicious and the Eggnog Martini was spectacular! We also tried the Hot Apple cider cocktail with spiced rum which was yum. Sadly women's bathroom soap dispenser was not working though. If you're there, check out the gift shop. I would come here again on our next roadtrip up north!

I had lobster ravioli and the oatmeal pie, which were delicious. They also have a little gift shop next to the tavern, which has some very nice gifts and decor for purchase. I purchased a couple Christmas ornaments. The gift shop building also has a big fireplace so it is very warm and cozy in there too!

The atmosphere was one of the best parts of the experience. The music was great, people were singing, and the whole place felt fun, relaxed, and like somewhere you genuinely want to spend time. The hostess was wonderful, and our server, Trinity, was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing, and that made the experience even better. We started with drinks at the table, and both were excellent. The Washington's Rebellion Cherry Bounce was memorable and very well done, and the house smoked old fashioned was also delicious. We then had the Roasted Brussels, and they were absolutely amazing. The combination of honey, balsamic glaze, candied pecans, and parmesan was outstanding. For the main course, I had the Powderhorn Chop, and the flavor was very good. My only critique is that it would have benefited from a stronger sear and a bit more crust on the outside. A little more Maillard reaction, that browning of proteins and sugars that creates deeper savory complexity, would have elevated it even further. We also had a salmon special that evening, and that was outstanding. Dessert was another highlight, especially the warm pecan bourbon pie with ice cream, which was absolutely delicious. Service was a major strength. In addition to Trinity being so warm and attentive, other staff members, including management, came by to make sure everything was going well. We also appreciated that they offer a military discount. This was our first time here, and so far it is the best restaurant we have tried in the Berkeley Springs area. We were told they are expanding, and we are already looking forward to coming back, especially if outdoor seating is added in the future. This feels like exactly the kind of place we will return to often, especially when friends come to visit.

Below the Union Hotel is a tavern called Mona's which is connected and an addition to The Union Hotel restaurant/12 room hotel. There's parking along the Main Street, as well as lots of spots in the back of the building. You can enter from the main entrance of the hotel and take the elevator down or you can head down the steps in the back to enter. Doesn't matter which way, just get here. We were absolutely blown away by the quality, portions, flavor profiles, and service in this little gem. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a super friendly bartender named Matt. He was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. He was always checking up on us and making sure that we were always good. Service was fabulous. There's a timeline of the history of this historic building on the back of the menu. We ordered two drinks. One was an apple cider margarita and the other was a strawberry gin fizz concoction that was amazing. Both of these drinks were delicious. If we weren't driving and staying in the actual hotel above this tavern, we would have tried several other ones on the menu. Lots of creative choices that looked to be tasty based on the mix of ingredients. For the food - the menu was enticing and extensive. Lots of creative things happening here. The app we decided on was the Parmesan crusted Brussels and boy did they not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. We opted for The French Dip with fries and some magical au jus and a Union Smash burger with fries for our meals. Both are highly recommended!!! The burger was served on this delicious cloud of brioche bun and stacked high with two patties (perfectly cooked), pickles, dijonaose, and cheese. The French Dip had the most magnificent crusty roll and tender meat. Then there are these amazing Parmesan parsley fries that are perfectly cooked and served hot! We could have eaten an entire plate of these. To go boxes were needed. Big portions. We couldn't fit dessert! The bill does come with some tasty Andes mints. Prices here are extremely reasonable! I can't stress enough about how absurd it is that this small town has such a hidden treasure of a place where the food is beyond amazing. This place is a full package. If you live anywhere within an hour or even two, come here!! You won't regret this decision. Scrumptious!!!!
