Our server was absolutely fantastic, she kept our waters filled and checked in just frequently enough without hovering or having us feel deserted. I feel terrible for not getting her name, but she was amazing. The food itself is absolutely delicious, my steak was perfectly cooked as was my husband's salmon. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were divine and the Brussels sprout app was perfectly crispy. I had the Liberty Lavender Lemonade as well - it was delightful. It was strong (which I prefer - kudos!) but well balanced and not overpowering. We're already looking forward to our next visit and I'm excited for our kids to come - it's rare to see a restaurant offer a kids menu with real food on it (not just frozen chicken tenders, Mac and cheese or pizza). My 6 year old loves real food - steak, salmon, shrimp, etc) so I'm excited to see how he likes the kids steak on the menu.

We ordered a side salad which was the best part of my dinner tonight. The steak came and I anticipated a juicy steak...Well, It was obviously not a tender steak. I had to saw quite a bit to get a bite. The glaze on this was overly sweet, and there was no seasoning that had been done to it. I had to ask for salt and pepper. As I continued...it was obvious there was no more meat to be had! It was all tendons and fat!!! Mind you...this is just about half the steak! Just completely disappointed! We spent over 70 dollars ... I believe it was on these horrible pieces of meat! Not sure what the cook is thinking or where they procure their meats, but they need to address this issue! I voiced my complaint to the waitress. She replied, "oh I'm sorry, I'll tell the cook" Also on the plate, was a small ice cream scoop size of mashed potatoes mixed with what tasted like sour cream and a few green beans, those were good, just not much. The place is quaint. They have quite the selection of whiskey. Food needs work. And if I may add, your outside chairs could use some chair pads. Very uncomfortable and left groove impressions on my legs. When we arrived home, we were both looking for something to snack on...as we were still hungry! I personally wouldn't recommend coming here for their steak.

Our bartender was fantastic--friendly, attentive, incredibly welcoming, and even helped us get connected to Wi-Fi while we were there. Just genuinely excellent hospitality from beginning to end. The food was great too. I ordered the Hawaiian pulled pork sandwich, which had pulled pork, spicy pineapple coleslaw, chipotle aioli, and goat cheese. The goat cheese especially made the sandwich for me, and I would have happily taken even more of the slaw and sauce. My husband had the smashburger and said it was absolutely worth the $18 price tag. And the fries! Perfectly crispy, and the balsamic ketchup was ridiculously addictive. We finished with the cinnamon-sugar fried ice cream cannolis, and they disappeared in about five minutes. Crunchy cinnamon-sugar shell, cold ice cream, chocolate, whipped cream, and strawberries--and even the strawberries were delicious, not just decoration. We decided to eat downstairs in the bar area. It had ha nice cozy low key atmosphere. Which was nice. We also felt like we were well taken care of there. Great food, wonderful service, and the kind of hospitality that makes you genuinely want to come back. Definitely recommend stopping by.

We were absolutely blown away by the quality, portions, flavor profiles, and service in this little gem. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a super friendly bartender named Matt. He was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. He was always checking up on us and making sure that we were always good. Service was fabulous. There's a timeline of the history of this historic building on the back of the menu. We ordered two drinks. One was an apple cider margarita and the other was a strawberry gin fizz concoction that was amazing. Both of these drinks were delicious. If we weren't driving and staying in the actual hotel above this tavern, we would have tried several other ones on the menu. Lots of creative choices that looked to be tasty based on the mix of ingredients. For the food - the menu was enticing and extensive. Lots of creative things happening here. The app we decided on was the Parmesan crusted Brussels and boy did they not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. We opted for The French Dip with fries and some magical au jus and a Union Smash burger with fries for our meals. Both are highly recommended!!! The burger was served on this delicious cloud of brioche bun and stacked high with two patties (perfectly cooked), pickles, dijonaose, and cheese. The French Dip had the most magnificent crusty roll and tender meat. Then there are these amazing Parmesan parsley fries that are perfectly cooked and served hot! We could have eaten an entire plate of these. To go boxes were needed. Big portions. We couldn't fit dessert! The bill does come with some tasty Andes mints. Prices here are extremely reasonable! I can't stress enough about how absurd it is that this small town has such a hidden treasure of a place where the food is beyond amazing. This place is a full package. The Naked Olive Lounge in Berkeley Springs has a lot of character, which already puts it ahead of…read moremany places trying very hard to have character and mostly achieving exposed brick. The space has a cozy, slightly speakeasy feel, with plenty of seating at the bar and tables for dinner. The music area is separate from the bar and dining area where we sat, which makes the layout feel lively without having the music sit directly on top of your entrée. There is also a related shop next door, The Naked Olive, where you can buy olive oils, balsamics, tapenades, and other dangerous things you convince yourself are "for later." By the time we were leaving early Saturday evening, they were getting ready for live music, which added to the local, come-stay-awhile feel. We started with a classic martini, and it was excellent. Perfectly balanced, cold, briny, slightly sweet, and served with blue cheese olives. A proper martini is not just a drink, it is a small personality test. We also tried the monthly special, the Dirty Devil, which I believe had bourbon, Coke, and salted caramel. It was good, but the classic martini was the clear winner for me. Service was friendly and helpful. I believe our server was James, and he helped us work through the menu without making us feel like we were preparing for a graduate seminar in small plates. They also honored us with a military discount, which I sincerely appreciated. Food wise, we ordered the Truffled Mushroom Pizza, which was genuinely good, with mushrooms, onions, peppers, and mozzarella. My only note is that the truffle was very subtle, maybe attending more in spirit than in full costume, but the pizza itself worked and I enjoyed it. We also had the Chicken Chesapeake, a sous vide chicken breast topped with crab and Chesapeake sauce. It came with a house salad and house vinaigrette, which was standard but good. As chicken breast goes, the entrée was well cooked, tender, and nicely finished. The crab and seasoning gave it some personality, which chicken breast often desperately needs. The mashed potatoes were hearty and solid. The vegetable du jour was the one underwhelming part of the meal; I am still not entirely sure what it was, and I do not think it was sure either. Overall, I enjoyed The Naked Olive Lounge. It may not be in my top three Berkeley Springs restaurants thus far, but it is definitely a solid entry in the local rotation. The ambiance is warm, the layout is comfortable, the service is friendly, the martinis are legitimately excellent, and the food is good, even if a few details could be stronger. The price point was reasonable, and I would happily come back, especially for a classic martini and live music.

My boyfriend ordered the truffled mushroom pizza, which came out smaller than expected and also didn't taste much like truffle. Unfortunately, they were on a break most of the time we were there though.
