Dr. Kim was a great dentist and my mother felt very comfortable with his care. She was surprised at how quick and easy the procedure was. Highly recommended.

I asked well why am I early, I'm told they changed my appointment to 10.00; however I was not informed. I'm told they will get with me soon in the mean time X-rays are taken and payment is requested while I have to wait. I'm called about 11:00. Then I'm called in for the extraction. Dr. Scott Kim comes in numbs my mouth and begans procedure. He pulling and tugging, I understand that this is a deep rooted tooth and that he has to watch not to damage the nerve. I can feel every tug, so he numbs me again. Leaves out and return. Starts procedure again pulling and tugging, his instrument slips, hits me on my front teeth, I yell out. He says it a little difficult I'm going to have to break it into two piece. He gets it out, my face swollen and I'm just glad it's over. I was in pain by the time I got home so I just took my medication and went to sleep. When I awoke I went to look at my teeth because that instrument hit kinda hard. Why my front tooth cracked. The next day when they called to check on me I told them that when I was hit with the instrument my tooth was cracked. They brought me in the next day took xray again. Dr. Kim comes in never shows me the xray, but takes pics of my tooth with his cell phone. Then tells me it was probably already cracked. It's a noticeable crack I look in my mouth everyday it was not cracked. Did not offer a solution. This man tells me not to worry about that tooth, keep watch on the tooth that was pull and if there is a problem give them a call. Just the fact you did not compare the two X-rays is telling. Don't go here he does not take accountability and almost pull my jaw off; that's how any why the instrument slipped. No bedside manners, showed no compassion. He says that he doesn't believe he was responsible because he did not work in the front of my mouth but you hit me with that instrument when it slipped. Warning find another oral surgen. RUN, RUN, RUN.

I didn't realize at the time that this was an incredibly aggressive diagnosis: He didn't take the time to find out whether I had the actual symptoms associated with an infected tooth. Regardless, I went to this practice. When I mentioned to Dr. Majlessi what the dentist had written on the referral--that he couldn't get me numb--she said, "Oh, we don't need to do any tests. You definitely need a root canal." Like an idiot, I trusted her. Now that I've had this procedure, I truly understand what a devastating, last-ditch option it is (I've been told off-handedly by a few dentists that I could, whoops, lose my tooth and need an implant quite easily). I'm horrified that a trained professional would waive the testing required to know if an invasive, expensive, and potentially destructive surgery is necessary. I've suffered pain and discomfort in the years following and expect that I'll suffer more and be tens of thousands of dollars poorer down the road because of something I very well may not have needed. The kicker was when I got a bill for $150 more than a year later from a procedure they implied my insurance would cover. This practice has a sign in their office saying that they were rated highly by the community in the 1990s. They might want to think about how that looks more than 30 years later.

I ended up not having one but it was very possible at one point. Dr. Abdullah treated me with respect, but his poor assistants. I have never witnessed someone be such an a-hole to their assistants for no reason. Like, his assistant gave him the wrong cotton ball and he basically called her an idiot. That is not a good way to make your patients feel comfortable. I seriously felt like telling him to calm down. With the potential root canal, I was having severe tooth pain throughout the left side of my mouth... actually, more like face. I was fairly sure for a while that I would need a root canal since the pain was excruciating and ongoing for over a month and my dentist suspected the same. I was taking advil around the clock, setting my alarm so I could take the next dose every 6 hours before the previous dose wore off and I was in such pain that I couldn't open my eyes. I told this to Dr. Abdullah and made sure to take advil before my appointment so that he could work in my mouth without me crying tears of pain. BIG MISTAKE. Dr. Abdullah basically said "Well, you don't look like you're in much pain. I don't think you need a root canal... BUT you have an extra tooth showing in your x-ray so I'm going to refer you to an oral surgeon downstairs." I could not believe what I heard. I told him the reason I wasn't dying was because I took Advil before and he didn't seem to care. Not only did he dismiss my concerns, he was going to send me to an oral surgeon for something that was a unimportant given the painful situation I was in. He also would not give me anything for the pain, even after explaining to him how harsh the Advil was getting on my stomach. He said to try Tylenol... as if I hadn't tried that already! Dr. Abdullah made me feel like a drug-seeking hypochondriac. I would not recommend Dr. Abdullah. I think most people look for a doctor who will listen to them and be at least a tad empathetic. You won't get either. For all I know, this guy is the Picasso of root canals. But it's irrelevant when you do not listen to your patients.

I had bonding for 40 years and had gotten a small chip, so I had a small gap again, which I wish I would've just kept! Dentists don't want to do bonding, anymore, as I guess there's not enough money in that. I keep wishing I could go back because I HATE MY TEETH NOW!!! I am someone who smiles constantly; now, I keep my mouth closed as much as I can. I had a small overbite, which I discussed with Dr. Cooper asking how the veneers would affect that. Three dentists, including Dr. Cooper, had expressed that my two front teeth were "too big." I love my teeth and have had 40 years of compliments about my smile! Dr. Cooper said she would do four veneers and make the two front teeth a little smaller and the other two slightly larger. After almost 6 weeks of a comedy of errors (wrong veneers sent twice, one the color was too dark (but probably not), the fourth and final ones in my mouth--I have two HUGE front buck teeth, a HUGE overbite (I'm so uncomfortable when people can see my teeth from the side), and the veneers are a TOTALLY DIFFERENT COLOR from my natural teeth!!!!!!! Oh, my veneers were EVEN BIGGER than they are now--I had Dr. Cooper shave them down!! I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW I FEEL!!! I am having the veneers removed and ortho (Invisalign) because I can't even take a chance of another botched job! I paid $1500 for the ortho as that's what I was told at the other dentist office to get started. Turns out I need to pay another $3500 for a total of $5000 for them to do the gum surgery, temporary veneers, and ortho fitting. I just paid $7152 at Laurel Smiles, which brings me to $8,652 I've now spent. I can't afford to pay anymore right now, so I'm stuck with these HORRENDOUS things in my mouth until I can afford to get them removed and do the new treatment. On top of that, I will now be forced to wear a retainer in my mouth four nights a week for the rest of my life!!!!! If you're getting all veneers, maybe you'll be okay. If you're not, KEEP LOOKING FOR ANOTHER DENTIST!!!! I CAN'T EXPLAIN HOW I WISH I COULD TURN BACK TIME!!!! OH, THE REPAIR JOB--JUST UNDER $15,000 WITH A DISCOUNT!! Oh, I also do not bite into anything! My veneers are so thick, and my teeth don't meet like they should, and I'm afraid they'll pull off and split my gums!! Below are photos of what I used to look like and what I look now! I would also like to say it is embarrassing for me to post these photos!!!
