It is equal, or better than Mount Sinai, Mayo or Rush. Top doctors. Top tools. The care they offer is top-notch. We came away impressed. As my mother used to say... getting old, isn't for sissies.

I used to be very proud to be a volunteer at this particular hospital many years ago. I used to love it so much! I don't know what has happened to this place. It has become very weird and creepy. This hospital used to be one of the good ones. Not anymore! I want to remind everyone that you DO NOT have to answer all the questions they ask you. They act like you do, but you DO NOT have to violate your HIPAA rights. They don't get to pick and choose what information they put down. I would say one thing and they would say something different and that's what was put down. Everyone ignored that I told them my home has black mold in the air ducts and I am medically forced to use the AC 24/7. If you're going there for heart, lung, or kidney stone problems, you don't need to discuss and reevaluate ALL of your entire health history. You should not be forced to and DO NOT need to convince them of what you are already diagnosed with and are dealing with. You should NOT have to deal with their nurses and doctors trying to push you into doing things that would or could hurt you just so they can test you. I'm an electric wheelchair user with many health problems one of which is a Neuro degenerative condition that is going to kill me soon, if I don't obtain proper treatment. I can still transfer, drive short distances, use a walker for a few steps at home only when I am able and if absolutely needed. Everything I do every single day hurts me tremendously and I pay for it dearly every day. I don't even take pain meds or meds in general. I deserve respect! Regardless of my mentioning this, they still tried to get me to walk to the bathroom with a walker instead of using my electric wheelchair which was right next to me. I am already suffering enough and scared, why would I hurt myself more in a very large spacious hospital, just to go to the bathroom when I have my electric wheelchair right next to me? Or I could pee in a bag? Why would ER staff be trying to figure out if I actually need my electric wheelchair or not, by trying to force me to hurt myself? VERY WEIRD AND CREEPY! Being forced to take a few steps at my small and properly set up home is not the same as being forced to walk an entire hospital section just to get to a toilet. They don't even know that I actually have a toilet right next to my bed at home, but they sure were trying to get me to hurt myself. As if I need to prove to them that I need what I already have in my possession. I was there for 3 critical situations that were going on. I was instructed by my cardiologist and by my urologist to go to the ER. My heart, my lungs, and urinary blockage due to kidney stones need help. I was forced to choose only one of my emergencies. Since when?! In the first part of my visit, I don't know if one of them was a doctor, I think she was and the other one was a nurse for sure, but both of them ganged up on me and lied about my left leg. They both lied straight to my face and in front of my son and my friend. It was dark in my room. I told her I had one varicose vein on the back of my left leg and they asked to see it. I showed it to them and they said there was nothing there. Which I know is a damn lie because I see it every day. Scripps is known for their doctors using their nurses to gang up on patients to convince their patient of lies. I am speaking from several experiences and witnessing it being done to others. I have pictures to prove that I'm not lying and that they are the liars. The last time I went to a Scripps Hospital it was in Encinitas. I had a doctor and a nurse gang up on me and arguing with me that Vicodin and hydrocodone are not the same thing. Which was obviously a damn lie! I'm allergic to Vicodin and any form of it, and they risked my life and my family by lying to me and forcing me to test what they were saying. Again using their emergency room patients as guinea pigs and forcing them to prove what they are saying is true. I needed pain meds and it was the only pain medication they would give me regardless of my telling them I was allergic to it. They almost got themselves a very serious lawsuit. Had I been a lesser person, my family would own that hospital. This is Part 1, To be continued in pics...

I've had to go there twice over the past year on very short notice, and both times they went out of their way to accommodate me. On each occasion, I needed a vascular ultrasound of my legs to make sure I did not have a blood clot, and they were able to fit me in at the last minute. The entire staff is extremely friendly, kind, and professional. The ultrasound technologists are thorough, reassuring, and clearly take what they do very seriously. The facility itself is beautiful, modern, and high-end, and you immediately get the feeling that the people there genuinely care about their patients. If you have an issue involving your veins, circulation, varicose veins, or need vascular ultrasound testing, La Jolla Vein & Vascular is the only place I would consider in the La Jolla area. The level of care is exceptional. It is genuinely a pleasure to write this review. I can't thank the staff enough for accommodating me twice on such short notice and for treating me with such professionalism and kindness.

Dr. Worsey did not waste anytime and immediately got him into surgery, as his organs were starting to shut down. After multiple emergency surgeries and medications, Dr. Worsey saved his life. David was at Scripps La Jolla for over a month with a Wound Vac and an ileostomy which was reversed successfully by Dr. Worsey a few months later. After a month at Scripps, he was moved to another facility unrelated to Scripps, as his wounds were too complex for me or home health care to manage at home. Two years later, David had a stroke and was admitted to Scripps La Jolla once again. I informed Dr. Worsey that David was back in the hospital for an unrelated issue. Dr. Worsey made a point to check in and visit David every single day. This level of care and compassion was truly good medicine! In conclusion, based on our experiences, we whole heartedly believe that Dr. Worsey is an outstanding physician of unsurpassed integrity, talent, honesty and compassion. We are so grateful for Dr. Worsey and for his medical team at Scripps La Jolla.
