Old town temecula is always a great option to go for a walk, sight seeing or to any of its many restaurants. I have seen Goldberg (wwe) as well as Lupillo Rivera (musician) in Old Town Temecula...so you might even meet a famous person. They have many restaurants upscale as well as dive ins. Also, museums like the Temecula valley museum or pennypickles workshop. Many boutiques and shops. Even antique/old style photography. The best part is that it's all within walking distance. It can get busy especially on the weekends or around the holidays but again, it's always a nice place to go for a walk. read more

First time in Temecula and boy did I have a blast. While the BF is gambling at Pechanga Casino...no point for me to hang around the Casino.... besides I had our son with me. So I decided to go to here to Old Town Temecula. The BF was on a winning streak...cha ching $$$. Score! He gave me my spending allowance for our anniversary. Boy did I go shopping crazy.... This place is great. Nice little place to stroll around with your kid and shop shop shop, or window shop if you don't want to spend the money. This little village has a few restaurants and small antique stores where you can buy one of a kind items. It was a lot of fun browsing these stores. They also have little boutiques and clothing stores where I spent most of my allowance on :-) Overall, I would definitely come back here and shop the local shops or come back for dinner and grab a wine or two and stroll this quaint little town. read more

I love just about everything about Old Town, the restaurants, the shops and the old buildings. You really need to go down all the streets to see all the shops. There are so many great shops in the alley ways and behind other buildings. Some of my favorite restaurants are Blackbird, Havana Kitchen and Rosa's Cantina. I love visiting Old Town as a rest stop while traveling to San Diego. They have a great Starbucks at the beginning of town. From there I love walking the street looking at all the wonderful shops. My favorites are the Gardeners Gifts and The Viking Shop. I love stopping at Sobo Greek restaurant for their wonderful soups. I also love Taos, a shop filled with wonderful Indian artworks. Everything is authentic and they have some really high class items. read more

My husband and I love spending the day in Old a Town Temecula. We usually will check out the antique stores and boutique shops and then enjoy a nice lunch in Old a Town. There is a good variety of food choices and if you come on Saturday morning there is a nice farmers market with fresh produce, flowers, plants , and other goodies. If we have time we will check out a local winery for a wine tasting to finish off an enjoyable day in Temecula. read more

Old Town Temecula is a cute little tourist attraction that reminds me of Old Town San Diego, with the reminiscent western theme. My husband and I walked around old town last Sunday on Father's Day. We browsed the many stores that are all along Front St. Although this is definitely a touristy area, it seems like locals also come here as well (plenty of locals at 1909). There seem to be a few hideaway areas of stores and oil and cheese shops (some of which provide free tasting) around, which I thought was a nice surprise. Parking seems like it would pose a challenge, but we were fortunate to nab a spot. Overall, a nice little place to check out the next time you are in Temecula. read more

So pretty! The streets are lit with green and white lights right now... I love it! The main street does need a few more stop signs though, so people turning left onto it, can get out without it taking forever. Looks like a very quaint, cozy little area. Had 3 hours to spare before my next appointment, decided to see what kind of interesting things I can get myself into . Old Town Temecula is spectacular, I droll over the architectures, love the old western vibe feeling. It's a good thing I always have a pair of flat sandal to switch off from high heels. Old town Temecula has become a destination in itself. There are many restaurants, pubs, wineries and shops that are within easy walking distance of each other. The city hall building is very pretty and is lit up beautifully at night. There is so much going on in old town at night that they are attracting people who are staying at the Pachanga Casino to come down and enjoy themselves. This place seemed a little sketchy at first, because the first thing we saw driving through were a whole bunch of Harley riding motorcycle club members everywhere. But after walking through, it's a neat little town. It's very "old western-esque", everything from the architecture to store front signs. To me, it was like Knott's Berry Farm, but in real life. There are plenty of neat little stores to peruse around and plenty of places to grab a snack or a meal. We only ended up seeing maybe half of the little town, but the group we were with were very impressed with this little place. Kind of a hidden gem. Parking situation sucks. There's a few public parking lots in and around the area, but they're not very big. We were able to find a spot in the lot by luck. read more

When I moved out here over 28 years ago, Old Town was one hamburger joint and some antique shops. They rolled the sidewalks up at sunset. I was quite surprised when my kids (grown) kept telling me I needed to to back. Wow! All sorts of fun restaurants and cafes, nightlife, cool boutiques and some remaining antique stores. Such a hidden gem!!! I love love love this area. There's a lot of history here dating back to the 1800's and you can walk through these historic buildings that were once saloons and stables and you can not only see them but also feel it. There are several granite posts with metal loops all up and down the streets that were used to tie horses back in the day. And these little soap shops, candy stores, antique shops, diners, and the hip farm to table are so adorable and so fun. I wouldn't recommend going to this place on its own as it is just a couple of blocks of quaint shops, restaurants, and gift stores, but if you are in the area anyways visiting wineries or Pechanga, definitely worth stopping by to add a little diversity and color to your trip to Temecula. It isn't quite Western/Westworld if you are expecting it to be really themed. It is just a little bit more rustic and quaint more than anything else. The kind of stores you can expect are an olive oil store (with tasting), soap stores, jerky (all different kinds of exotic meat) stores, hemp product stores, the ubiquitous Christmas decoration stores, woodwork stores, sculpture store, dog clothes boutiques, and a lot of random clothing stores. There are several coffee shops (including a Starbucks) and a place that sells ice cream. The place is just nice to walk around for about an hour but that is about it. There is a lot of free parking and there is a visitor's center if you like picking up local maps. read more

Because Old Town only consist of one main street, expect quit a few people walking and frequent stops. If your looking for a place to eat, this is the location to seek. Walkable and has some cute unique little shops. The locals are all very friendly and helpful. At night 'the strip' (main road thru town) is used for cruising cars and motorcycles... I love a drink/night cap but this wasn't my vibe. There seemed to be a lot of individuals hanging out in front of stores, wearing backpacks, begging for money and some folks camping out in their vehicles. Great Family Place! Walking around the shops was cool...it was fun to window shop though! I love walking around here. So much sights to see, nice people to watch (old and young), multitude of shop, there's a small Starbucks coffee shop, BBQ place, you can stop for snacks, ice cream or foods to eat in a nice sit down restaurants all around. Really neat place to hang out. Just lots of stuff! Good for all age groups. Parking space is quite hard to find. If the drive wasn't too far, We'd be here a lot. Don't come here. The noise pollution from loud, obnoxious motorcycles ruin the outdoor experience. The lazy sheriff deputies hanging around do not do their jobs to crack down on the bikes with after market loud mufflers. So EVERYONE visiting and working there are subjected to outrageous loud noise from the constant motorcycles. Really, the city council needs to ban these vehicles from Old Town. I won't return until they do so. read more

Under rated city in California that deserves attention. I Love this Old Town. I am fascinated with all the antiques shops and the fancy specialty shops. I can spend a whole day just going in and out in those shops coz you will see a lot of interesting buys. If you are a antique lover or love rustic place and things you should visit them. However, i was looking forward to go on a historic adventure. I thought i will be able to go in and out in the historical houses they put on their map guide. Kinda disappointed with that. I came here on a Sunday night a little after 8pm. The sun was already setting, but from what I saw - this place seems like a cool spot. Lots of history and a quaint little place you can stroll around to window shop, people watch and plenty of restaurants to pop into to grab a bite or guzzle down some drinks if you're feeling parched. Considering this place was established around 1859, it's in great condition (I'm sure with plenty of renovations to keep it up to par). It's cute. It's charming. There are a lot of different bars, restaurants and cool shops to check out. The nightlife is even pretty amazing. Maybe not for the young 20-somethings looking for a dance club...unless they like country music. But if your idea of a good time is some great live music, some drinks and a chill setting, Temecula's nightlife is fantastic. During the day, it's a good place to walk and check out all the shops - and there are all kinds of amazing little shops from antique stores to olive oil, wine tastings...If you're looking for quaint, this is it! This is a great weekend destination for anyone from Southern California looking for something different to do on the weekends. There is enough to do here to keep you busy for a day. The wineries nearby are also full of events and great live music and wine tastings. In fact, it's worth it just to drive through wine country to have a look and tour the beautiful wineries and spend your evening having dinner in downtown Temecula. We just moved here over the summer and so far, I LOVE it! There is always something going on, the weather is usually beautiful, it's a great community for music and the arts, the city is always planning wonderful events, it's a safe, walkable community and did I say...an up-and-coming wine market that is sure to be notable in coming years? I've been out there sampling the wines and they far exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend Temecula for many reasons...Old Town, however, is the crown jewel of this area. read more

Never really appreciated Old Town until I got...(wait for it)...older. I grew up in Temecula so I had a "boring ol' Temecula" complex until I had moved out and been living in Orange County for six years or so. Having been there since the late 1800s, the Old Town area has a lot of history and I appreciate that the city has tried to keep the integrity of the old buildings even though they have modernized the streets. There are lots of mom and pop stores that sell trinkets, souvenirs, antiques, and other random things like rubber stamps or flags. There are some great places to eat and lots of nooks and crannies to walk around in when you're exploring with family or on a date. Also, the nightlife in the area has actually come up in recent years, believe it or not. The holidays in Old Town are great - everything is festively decorated and it's as Christmassy as it gets in Southern California since snow is pretty much a mythical creature in these parts. I don't think I would travel for hours just to visit Old Town Temecula, but if you're in the area visiting family/friends, or hanging out at the wineries, it's a nice respite. read more

I love visiting Old town on my own and with friends and family visiting from out of town. Parking sucks like any popular destination but they have a parking structure or if you're able to parallel park on the street then you can park anywhere in Old Town. I never visited Old Town until it was revamped recently. It's pretty fun for 20-somethings whether it's for going out dancing and drinking to having a relaxing lunch with friends. I like all the little shops and restaurants they have scattered around.. it really embraces that "old town" feel.. I haven't eaten at all of the restaurants.. but I've gone to a few.. This is review is from just me personally. I think everybody has their different tastes so some might like this spot. When I think of old towns I think of Old Town Pasadena which I think is really cool. This old town is literally old town. They have saloons and reminds me of the cowboy movies. Not really my thing. We planned to spend a couple hours here but instead after driving through decided not to stop. There are restaurants and bars but a lot of small business offices as well, like dentists, and other random offices. I suppose people live around here so they need it. One of the smallest and quieter Old Towns I've been to. Not too many shops here and a few restaurants here and there. Definitely not as popping as Old Town San Diego or Old Town Pasadena in terms of crowd and the to-do's. However, its a good place to walk around and chill before or after you go to wineries.
