3.5 of of 5 It has been a few years since I have visited Old Time Pottery but I did not find the front porch h plant stand in the other store I visited. I decided to go here and noticed how the abundance of items on the outer walls of the store were empty. I wandered to the garden center which was in the side, in a smallish room area and found the perfect table for all of $16. It will hold the small batch of plant pots with the flowers I am working to keep alive (I don't have a green thumb so it really isn't easy for me). read more

Old time pottery is going through some big changes for next year. They were saved from going out of business by a clothing store named Gabe's. I had never ever heard of Gabe's so when I looked up other locations I was not surprised the only other Gabe's in existence in Florida was by St. Pete. I was surprised to walk in and find the familiar Old Time Pottery nick nacks but had an entire section of clothes that were very cheap in price. Brands I have seen and brands I have never heard of mixed together. But it's nice to know if I need an emergency party dress for Christmas print I can snag one here for less than $12. I'll head back after the renovation and see what changed have been made when Gabe's is finally moved in. read more

Not sure why they haven't closed yet. Had a closing sale a couple years ago and never got anything else worth buying after. I enjoy going to At Home (Formerly Garden Ridge). This one is no different than the other At Home stores I've been to in various cities, including Orlando. They have lots for the outdoors (lawn furniture, decor, etc.), seasonal items (Christmas, Halloween, Easter, national taco day), and plenty of other items for the house. Hold on, my cat is telling me something... What? I wasn't at At Home? I was at Old Time Pottery? If someone knocked me out and put me in the middle of this store, I would have bet thousands I was in an At Home store. Hmmm... could be a new game show! Stay away Pat Sajak (does he ever age?). The best thing about this store is buying stuff that's out of season! Buying outdoor furniture and halloween skull items in November is such a bargain. The store is huge, so plan on spending a good 6-8 hours here if you want to look at everything and you're shopping with a snail. If you're targetted in what your looking for, you can probably do it in 1 or 2 hours. I had though all of the Old Time Pottery stores have closed, but this one in Casselbury remains open. Ok, I've got to admit - I kind of love this place. If you're looking for something specific, it might be a pain to wade through all the stuff on every isle, but this was a great place to grab a few things for my new house. Prices are excellent. This would be great for someone throwing a party or someone who plans a lot of events. It's kind of like a cross between a Michaels and HomeGoods. Old Time Pottery is a cornucopia of everything you could possibly imagine for the home. Be forewarned though, there's a lot of tacky stuff here to sift through. A LOT OF STUFF. The place is a massive warehouse, so plan on spending some time delving into their merchandise to find something you really like. The prices are fabulous. For about 7 bucks I got a cute little welcome plaque for the front of my door and two storage organizers for my closet. Good times! Right now, the highlight of Old Time is their Christmas items. They have EVERYTHING you could possibly fathom to complete your holiday decor. There's Christmas trees galore, ornaments aplenty, and even lawn decor/lighting. The best part is all of it is affordable. You can get in the spirit without going broke! The store itself is fairly organized which is a feat considering how busy it gets. LOVE this store! HUGE Selection of holiday items, GREAT prices. My first stop before I shop anywhere else.

The store is huge and I always have found it to be clean. Never seen dust, etc. as you walk in the area to the right is reserved for seasonal items, such as spring, yard items, Easter decorations, Christmas, Fall and Halloween. At times that area is fairly empty between seasons. The main isle is usually filled alway the to the way back of the store but yesterday, August 15th it was almost empty. As the seasonal items sell out, the store does a great job in consolidating the merchandise so there can be rows of empty shelves For a nice and neat appearance. It's a great place if your looking for seasonal decorating items, plenty of wall art, lamps, even pots and pans. Right now a few Christmas items are out but by October, the Christmas seasonal side will be filled to the brim. I picked up a yard item, a 24" lighthouse with a solar light for 50% off. I adore this store. I admit it's pretty random but you can find sooo many things here and they are inexpensive! I go here when I need something cool for my apt or when I am searching for a cool present. Things I love at this store are the candles, art, frames and decorations. I love coming here, even if I mentally tell myself I'm not going to buy anything, I usually always do because they have great prices and really amazing house hold wares. If you're looking for gardening supplies, definitely check out their supplies. I was able to buy garden trellises on sale for only 9.99 which is a total bargain seeing as how my local home improvement store had a very similar one for double the price. Whatcha need? Posters? Frames? Mirrors in all sizes for much, MUCH cheaper than you would pay at a Kirklands or Pier One? How about Christmas/holiday decorations? Floral arrangements? Baskets in any shape or size? Old Time Pottery is your answer to all of these questions and many, MANY more! I'm personally a fan of the rugs, picture frames and mirrors. I can spend $20 here and walk out with bags and bags of frames and mirrors. Oh and lighting - can't forget lighting because they have ever lamp in every shape and size you could want. Candles, wrought iron decorative items for indoor or outdoor, garden/patio items and furniture, stainless steel pots and pans and a plethora of kitchen wares - all there, all cheaper than anywhere you've ever seen, and it will be difficult for anyone to tell if you got your awesome decor at Pier One, Ikea, or Old Time Pottery. So why only four stars? *sighs* They have HORRIBLE music. It makes me want to run screaming from the building and I feel bad for the employees. It's also a warehouse and can be too warm, in fact the last time I was there the air conditioning was dead (thankfully I just had to run in and out for a $9.99 back-of-door-mirror). And the bedding section is pretty questionable on the quality side. But everything else MORE than makes up for these things. I've gone into Old Time Pottery....lost track of time, and come out 5 hours later. And most likely I could have stayed longer. They have everything you could possibly need to decorate your home, plus lots lots more. It's very inexpensive, but most of the stuff doesn't look cheap. I always tell friends that this store is like "the back of TJMAXX or Ross, on steriods." It's a lot more organized, however, but you never quite know what you'll find. Ever since I realized that they also sell upholstery fabric here, I find myself coming here at least once (sometimes twice) a month! I love that they have a great selection of dishes, glasses, bedding, linens, etc. There is also a lot of junk, but if you look past that, you'll find some really great deals. This is a well organized, clean store with lots of selection. I wish it would expand further north and come to Virginia! There's lots to look at, and I almost always find something interesting for the house. If you're looking for bargains double check-- some prices obviously loss leaders but others aren't so great. A lot of the glassware and dishware is priced well. For example, you can get 16 oz glasses for $1 each, or large hurricane candle glasses for $3. Other things are not priced as aggressively- for example the holiday cookie tins were priced from $2-4 depending on the size. You can go to Dollar Tree and get medium and small tins for $1. read more

Bridget the cashier was SO rude I asked how she was doing she didn't respond & then I told her I didn't want an item if she wanted to take it or me go put it back she snatched it out of my hand & then the comforters that we're 75% off weren't ringing up so she had to do the math and wasn't very clear on saying if they were 75% off or not so I had a queen and grabbed a full because queens were the only ones not ringing up as 75% & she said the full wasn't either so I said maybe you should take the sign off of it then if they aren't marked as what it says they are. Love me some OTP. They have everything you need from home decor, outside decor, kitchenware, etc. I stopped in last week to get some Citronella candles. All of the other area stores stopped carrying them as they are "seasonal" items. We live in Florida people. We have mosquitoes through the end of November at least. I shopped in your store for the first time about a month ago, and I purchased $100 of merchandise. A couple of the silk flowers I bought didn't work out, so I brought them back to exchange for something else. Since I live a distance away, I don't get over to your part of town very often, but I made a special trip to your store last weekend. I selected a full cart of items to buy, but after I waited in line at the customer service counter, I was surprised when the cashier rolled her eyes at my full cart. I gave her my $12 of returns to be credited toward my cart of new purchases (about $200 of new stuff). A smile came over the cashier's face when she announced that I was 2 days overdue from your 30-day policy get a refund. I told her to just credit the return toward my purchases. No big deal, right? The cashier was nasty to me and said there's absolutely no refund or exchange on a 32-day-old purchase. I was shocked!!! No other store has such an inflexible return policy. I had my receipt and a cart full of new purchases. When I nicely questioned this policy the cashier was rude, not polite, and she obviously DELIGHTED in telling me I was stuck with my unwanted merchandise. I felt as if I'd been slapped in the face!!! I left without buying anything. Instead, I went over to HOBBY LOBBY and spent $238. The prices are better & it doesn't look like a warehouse. I was a new customer, unfamiliar with your ridiculously strict return policy that no other store follows! Even with a 30-day policy, was it necessary to try and humiliate me over 2 days? The cashier's behavior was totally unprofessional; as a consumer, I was shocked. It's not like your prices are so cheap that this is necessary, because your prices are quite high compared to your competitors. I know this because I shop weekly for household furnishings like you sell, and you are obviously not a discount store. Yet I was willing to buy items anyway. You should be ashamed of your customer service. In this economy, do you really want to treat paying customers this way? Your cashiers apparently feel free to behave discourteously and I was extremely offended. Do you even train employees in customer service? It's evident that you do NOT care if customers are satisfied! Don't worry, I will never return, and I'll make sure ALL my friends, co-workers, and family know how terribly you treat customers. "Old Time" Pottery is accurate. Feels outdated and tacky. Several isles have items with a thick coating of dust. I explored 85% of the store and reeeaaally tried to find some goodies but I left with nothing. Maybe it's just not my style? I prefer Ross, Marshalls, and especially Home Goods/TJ Maxx. read more

This place is HUGE and smells a bit like my grandmother's house but it's packed to the ceiling with good deals. If you need any kind of home décor, they probably have it here and for cheap. I found out about this place when I managed a restaurant; we would buy all of our glassware here because it was cheaper than the wholesale stuff we could get anywhere else. The only negative I can think of is that the store is so big it's sometimes hard to find exactly what you're looking for.
