I had a $5 rewards which I was eager to use upon my return to WM. It has been a few days after the Holidays so their stuff was 60% off and so many treats were ready for the taking. I actually went looking for a Dubai chocolate which my best friend picked up the last time but it looks like it sold out. I did however find caramel stroopwafels for just $4 and Hana Awaka sparkling yuzu ($10) which is tasted in a sushi restaurant and it is delicious! They have so many lovely artworks, home goods and international snacks that it is fun to wander around. read more

Selection has totally missed the mark. I don't know who is making the decision as to what to carry on the shelves BUT ... your doors will close if you don't get better. Example: went in today to find (as I have in the past) the grape vine leaves in brine. None. Then moved over to find the base for my German potato pancakes. None. Then, moved on to find clotted cream for scones. None. But ... I did find MANY choices of some foods - far too many choices - for example, olives, popcorn, candies, sardines, etc. Where has the WORLD in World Market gone??? What a wasted trip. The staff is great and shelves are well stocked with a variety of products. My biggest problem is with their rewards program. They will send an email saying you have rewards to spend, but when you try and use them they are no where to be found. The registers are so old they don't interface with the internet. It's been literally years since the last time I went to world market; shame on me. This is such an awesome place to shop for home goods and kitchen items. I found some really great things in their clearance isle but even regular priced items are great. Things you don't normally find elsewhere like goodies and snacks from different places around the world. I had also been looking for items to decorate my craft room and found really cool but elegant items here that I had not been able to find elsewhere. We enjoyed this location. There isn't one of these super close to our house, so it's fun to stop in them whenever we get the chance. They have a large parking lot and it's easy to get in / out of overall. Once inside it's nice and open. They have easy to view sections and items are organized. We really love looking through their food and beverage area, there is always something fun. Plus we always love to get Pocky when we see it. They have a good variety of things you'll be hard pressed to find elsewhere. The furniture is excellent, but always a little pricier than I want to spend. World Market is a five-star place! They have so many unusual items, I love this store. Coming here is an all-in-one shopping experience. If you're looking for a gift they have a great selection of small items including soaps, incense, jewelry, frames, and scarves. They also have gift bags and cards so you don't have to go anywhere else to assemble your gift. The real reason I'm giving this place a five star review -- I absolutely love the food and drink section. They have many selections of exotic little snacks; things like olives, cheese, coffees, tea, candies, chocolates, nuts, and small label soda brands. There are so many choices of international food items. Let me talk about the international food items for moment. You would have to go to several different stores to find the selection of international foods that World Market carries in one place. The international food isles are not enormous, but their selection is representative of the popular foods in many of these different cultures. You can pick up Indian, European, Asian, and sometimes even Hawaiian food there. There are so many snacks here it's ridiculous, but fabulous! World Market has a wide collection of coffees, teas, wines, cider, and beer. I find the wine section outstanding! The staff in the beer & wine area are always very willing to help pick out the best beverage for the occasion. The store frequently holds free wine tastings too. Check their online calendar in advance for event times. If you're there looking for furniture and home decor items they have that too. Store is a little smaller than other World Markets I've been to, but it's well-stocked and well-organized. Can't say the same for staff, though. I had both ends of the spectrum in customer service. The girl working the till was friendly, tried her best to help, but then I got pawned off to a young man with a ponytail and light brown hair who didn't seem to think polite communication mattered. Straight up said that maybe I was mistaken about my order or that I was at the wrong store. So when I asked if that meant my order wasn't ready after showing I got the "Your Order is Ready" text, he just ignored me, told me nothing and just walked off towards the back. I waited another 20 minutes before my order was found, at which time he kept repeating the item, although bulky, was "not heavy. It was very light, manageable." So I took this to mean he didn't want to bring it out for me and decided to maneuver it myself with my short little arms. There was no greeting from him at the beginning, no apology for the wait, no explanation or clarification that there was a delay, he just turned his back on me again immediately after I signed for it. So much for customer service. TLDR; I drove two hours here for an in-store only item. Order wasn't ready. Rude, lazy, disorganized customer service. read more

This is a really neat little store. They have really cool decor items as well as an amazing variety of foreign food items I can only buy locally here, such as Szechuan peppercorns. If you join their rewards program they send you emails with discounts including a welcome 15% off email. I like to wander around the food section and see what's new for various cuisines such as Italian and Asian. They also have a super large beverage selection which is really interesting. There are employees scattered around to assist you or answer questions but they are in no way overbearing salespeople. I was looking for a red one once, something i am very educated in, and the lovely lady in the wine section walked me around and explained a bunch of different ones so I could make an educated decision. The person I purchased the bottle of wine for as a house warming gift adored it! They have a ton of cool sushi dining wear to mix and match as well. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Wife and I have been shopping for out door furniture for our backyard u-haul and we came across a couple of pieces we liked. They were able to put the items on hold while we made the arrangements to get it to our home. Upon taking the outdoor table out of the box we noticed a couple of blemishes. Okay, so I haven't actually been into the store yet however I called this morning and received superior customer care. Last night while searching the Internet for a dining set (which could be delivered or picked up by Christmas...I know, who am I kidding), I ran across the World Market site and found one of interest. Bright and early this morning, I decided to call the Sanford location in an attempt to locate this particular table. Zak answered the phone and was very friendly and helpful. He immediately started on a quest to hunt down this table and 6 chairs in 2 different styles. Zak never put me on hold, never seemed bothered to assist or annoyed with my questions AND even attempted to make small talk by asking what I thought about our cold Florida weather (hate it)! Thanks to Zak, I already have a positive impression of this World Market location and I haven't even been there. Kudos Zak!! To be continued... Went in later in the evening to get the table and was again given exceptional customer care from the ladies helping me out. We changed our minds and decided to go with different chairs however this location had only 2 of the ones we wanted in inventory. They called and had the other store hold additional chairs for us and all was good. Store was clean and staff members cheerful. Will go back! read more

The ultimate place to wander around aimlessly for a few hours. The candy section alone is worth the trip. Chocolate covered in sea salt? Yes please! A lot of the worldly goods come from places like India, and at these prices you can't help but wonder if a 4-year-old churned out that $5 bracelet. Everything is cheap! You can really do a good do-over of your kitchen for less than $100 and convince your friends that you went to Pier 1. I loooove this place!!! I used to go to the one near Florida Mall before it closed down so I've been going through WM withdrawals for years!! When I found myself in the Sanford area, I made a point to stop by. What turned out to be a quick visit turned into a big shopping trip! I would say this place focuses on home decor with influences from other countries. You will find furniture, items for your kitchen, and even great gift ideas ! My favorite part is their food and drink section. You could spend hours and hours browsing. There are aisles focusing on specific international cuisines (Asian, Indian, British, etc). They have an extensive wine and craft beer section and coffee section . I stocked up on bottled craft sodas that were on sale. I also really love their store brand Italian sodas. The blood orange and clementine flavors are perfect for a summer party! You can also stock up on yummy snacks . They have an extensive selection of their own store brand but noticed other brands like Frontera Grill. Definitely sign up for the rewards card to earn those points. They were able to pull mine up with my phone number so that was good. I highly recommend making a visit but prepare to be overwhelmed and sidetracked. But in a good way! read more

When I visited this place for the first time the first thing that came into my mind was... why haven't I heard about this place before! I felt like I was an interior decorator on a mission to find hidden treasures! What I love about this store is that they have all kinds of random things from food, wine, home goods, furniture, and kitchen stuff. And like the name of the store says... all the items seems to come from all over the world... Which I think is pretty cool. Another cool thing I found out about while I was there was group membership. If you sign-up you automatically get awesome discounts for everything! I believe they said I could sign-up online, but the husband was able to sign-up in the store and we were able to get the discount the same day we signed up! Woot! If you guys are like me and love to get samples of food and drinks from other stores you'll be able to get plenty of that here! The husband and I kept getting blocked off by lines of people waiting to get samples. So naturally we had to jump in line! Holy moley - the wine, imported beer, and sake selection is amazing, yet diverse at the same time. I haven't truly enjoyed shopping at a store quite like I do at World Market; the staff is friendly, the massive selection of merchandise, and the fact that I can walk around without being harassed by a million employees really makes my day. I was also prompted on my last trip to join the World Market Explorer program - I am glad that I chose to participate. World Market is a great place to shop for furniture, home goods and interesting food. The furniture is sturdy, good-looking and well-priced in particular. I have at least a half-dozen of their furniture items, from desks to chairs to end tables. The Sourav desk I am using now has held up well for six years, apart from a dent it earned during the move to Florida. When you stop in, be sure to check out the food section in the middle of the back wall. They have some creative imports at great prices, and my wife and I often browse the aisles for whimsical creations, most of which are something covered in chocolate. If you join the Explorer club, you can get free coffee after a few purchases also, and they give twice as many points per bag of coffee you buy if you go on Wednesdays. The coffee is cheaper than at Whole Foods and just as good, so the free bags put them well ahead. read more

Over the years we have purchased everything from a few small tables, general home accessories, holiday decorations, stationary, wrapping, gourmet food/cooking items, beer and wine. Quality of items has always been great, wine selections are nice and good deals at the every day price point. (High price point can usually be found at wine stores for better prices) Nice olive oils, spices and baking products. Staff at all locations has always been nice. World Market is that type of place you walk in to without a real reason for being there but leave with a buggy full of stuff. Can't help it. Gotta have this melamine egg basket...and baby whisk. We actually (on purpose sometimes) head over to stock up on wine and items for snack plate night. They always have our regular purchases and new wines that come in from time to time so we're able to try something new. They also have a great selection of glass storage jars that I use for my bulk items and, of course, a wonderful array of kitchen items, art work, international food items, etc., etc. We visit the Sanford location and I can tell you - unless you WANT to sample various wines do not go on days they are offering wine sampling. It's a mad house. Unfortunately, we've found ourselves there in such times. It was very difficult to just move around the store because the sampling tables are set up throughout. Prices are great. Staff is helpful and friendly. If you've never been, go. It's an experience and you can always pick up a cookbook dedicated to sriracha recipes! read more

I am a fan of World Market, and this one is another great one in the area. The beer and wine selection here is really great, and they really make it awesome when they put their build your own six packs on sale. Sign up for the rewards club, as others have mentioned, you get coupons (that can't be used on alcohol), and typically the prices on popular items are a bit lower when you use the card. My wife loves the store for the neat selection of different foods. My son loves the store because they have these cool rolling shopping baskets with pop up handles, which makes him feel empowered shopping throughout the store. These things can really help when you want to take a kid shopping. I truly just love stopping in and seeing what they have, because every time you come, there is something different to see. read more

I can't believe I had never been to World Market before!! What have I been missing out on?!?!? World Market is a bit of the beaten track in terms of Markets. It has everything from furniture to knick knacks to food items! But the reason I love it is because I am Italian ... SI, sono Italiano!! And you can find some food items here that a true Italian longs for and misses so much!!! The espresso coffee (cheaper than whole foods) ... the sweets (Ferrero items but also other good stuff) and so many awesome items to make yummy food!!! And lets not even talk about the Holiday season. Are you kidding me??!?!!? Panettone and Pandoro ... if you don't know what these items are, well, they're a mouth full of joy that is what they are!! I ended up finding a really cool handheld coffee grinder, albeit a little pricey. There was lots of really neat gourmet food selection and lots of coffee choices. My only issue with this place was the price. I had a hard time finding anything that I was willing to pay the asking price for, but some people won't have that problem.
