I never pass up the chance to stop at Adjectives Market when I am in Central Florida. I have visited the \Winter Haven and Winter Park locations but this is my first time experiencing their first location which opened in 2012 in Altamonte Springs. Adjectives Market was founded by former attorney Jeremy Thompson and they have now grown to five locations. Adjectives Market sells new, antique, and vintage items. They focus on unique but affordable items. The idea for adjectives came to Jeremy from his love of the kind of vintage markets you find in New York, Atlanta, and Miami. He wanted the store to show how vintage items could be incorporated into modern design. Adjectives was chosen for the name of the store because it represents the large vocabulary one would need to describe it. Each store curates new and vintage inspired home decor. I was blown away but how large this store is. There are multiple rooms filled with furniture and home decor. Everything was so beautifully displayed. They also sell holiday decorations, clothes, accessories, and jewelry from a mixture of artists, home decor experts, and craftsmen. You are sure to find things you have never seen before. This store answers the problem I have when I go to antique malls or stores. You can see an item you love on a dusty shelf but you can't work out in your mind how it will fit into your space. Everything here is displayed in such a thoughtful way that you can easily imagine it in your own home. I especially love to visit when they have all of their holiday decor out. If you are looking for a one of a kind gift, this is the perfect place to shop. I could spend hours exploring this store and I literally want everything. I just wish they would open in South Florida. This store is soooooo cool! We visited here with the intentions of looking for small furniture pieces. But we were very surprised to see that it was not just a furniture store. This place is the best spot to find a gift! Jewelry, fragrances, super unique home decor... you could spend alot of time in here browsing. We came in during the Christmas season, so we picked up a couple ornaments for our annual Christmas ornament exchange. My husband also gifted me the cutest hat from here! This is another antique/unique goods mall that is along a stretch of businesses in the same vein, such as The Mercantile. We saw it on the way to the latter and decided to stop by afterwards. It looks like the business took over either a former furniture or discount shop as there's a lot of parking available. The shop has a mix of furniture, home decor, and small gift items in a variety of styles and price points to choose from. I feel most of the items present were more artisan and newer stock, versus true vintage or antique. This particular Adjectives Market is on 436 and is a great store filled with various home decorations and various bric-a-brac. I had been to their Winter Park location and their new location in the Colonialtown shopping plaza in the Milk District (just east of downtown Orlando), but this was my first time visiting this particular location. All in all, this was an excellent experience with a great selection of items and a great staff. Justin at the counter rang me up and kept a great flow of conversation going with myself and the other customers, making us feel welcome in the store. On this particular day, they had a bunch of vendors set up outside. Honestly, this is what brought me to this location. It was a great time walking amongst the vendors and seeing all the great items. I did manage to get some holiday shopping out of the way and all in all it was a great experience. Overall, I have to give this Adjectives Market location five stars. read more

My wife and I stopped in back in November 2021 to do some Christmas shopping while we were out-n-about in Altamonte Springs. Adjectives has a unique variety of modern, vintage, and antique furnishings; collectibles, art, decorations, and one-of-a-kind gifts. You can easily find a great gift in the $10-$35-dollar range, or you could splurge and spend $250-$600 on some of their fancier furniture, art, and handmade décor. Some of the items that caught my eye were the large wooden clocks ($245.00), the beautiful wooden cabinetry ($200+), the vintage 3-stooge's figurines ($325.00), the Christmas gifts and collectibles (varied pricing), some of the artwork ($200+), the France Art Glass Lamp ($329.95), and the natural agate accent table ($339.95). My wife and I love exploring stores like this because everything is high quality, one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable, and will be cherished by future generations. Visited to look for some trinkets. Three employees in store but not greeted by anyone. Walked by employees four times without even a nod. My friend did say she was asked if she needed help. mentioned to my friend that they weren't much in customer service. Once I said that, the employee looked at me and smiled then he started talking but it was too late. I was in there 30 minutes Plus. The store has beautiful things, antiques and faux antiques, hundreds, thousands of items. I feel many over priced. But fun to window shop. My friend has bought several items there. The merchandise is wonderful and if they step up their customer relations would be a great place. There are several locations so maybe it was just this place, this day? A great location to find some unique pieces! They have a rotating collection so if you see a unique piece you love I suggest you grab it as it may not be there the next time. The store showcase some great custom / handmade pieces, including furniture, art, decor, etc. Great spot to find a piece to make your house really pop. The price points are higher than other stores, but considering it's all made by individual persons and not machines, it's not surprising! My suggestion would be that you take a good look around at all the items on offer and get a really good feel for everything they have there. Follow them on social media as they regularly post new items in the store. And definitely follow the vendors to see what their up to and what their making! We wish we lived closer to this massive Adjectives location, but when we are in the area we always stop in. On this trip, we found an old antique desk with a sloping top that is perfect for my new home office. Was just $425. We now have quite a few things from Adjectives (and have found great gifts there too), and have been satisfied with every single one of them. There's nothing in this entire store that isn't unique in some way with much of it from local artists. Planters made from baby doll heads? Sure! They have that. Novelty signs like "Mermaids Smoke Seaweed"? Right this way? Have you always wanted a cow hide? Of course, we ALL have! Luckily for you, Adjectives has it! Along with these unique oddities, there is also some antiques or knickknacks to place on an end table for a conversation piece. And; the regular furniture like couches and shelves and kitchen tables are all there. This is a very and cool and unique local chain! Altamonte is my preferred location - it's very expansive, has great inventory and the employees are so cool. Definitely worth a trip if you're looking for that special piece of furniture for your house. I don't recommend the Winter Park location - I have been twice and the staff didn't so much as glance in my direction. I felt invisible shopping there and I had questions about a small Buffett. I'd go as far as to say I felt awkward, like I was imposing by being there. Stay the Altamonte route! read more

I had been to the smaller location in Winter Garden and just loved how unique this home store was. Furniture, home decor, clothing and accessories. Modern and vintage. When I found out there was a mega store in Altamonte Springs I had to check it out. My sister and I combed every corner. We were there for 2 hours! There was so many wonderful pieces. Big and small. This hidden gem is an absolute treasure!! Once going in I had no idea how massive the store was and it was like an incredible maze looking through antiques and trinkets and more! Despite the store being big, the staff was attentive and super kind! I easily was getting lost in all of the beautiful items around and they did a good job staging set ups together. Definitely look in the back, I was looking for a present and found beautiful picture frames in their clearance section and it was just perfect! If it weren't for driving down semoran 436 at 5 PM in the midst of horrendous traffic, I would have never found out Adjectives Market was RIGHT HERE all along. As I angrily turn into their private parking lot I was immediately relieved because I was leaving the traffic behind and giddy about exploring this huge store. It was once a Skips (fronteir/western outfitter) but now turned into this wonderful quirky, vintage, and antique store. The term Market is fitting because there are 'Stalls' of different owners with their own niche of items. Most of the store I found was kind of frenchie, shabby chic style combine with some vintage made over pieces. I especially love that this place doesn't have that 'flea market' smell coursing through the store as antique store does. Besides their furniture and knickknacks, they also have bath salts and home made cards for sale! Those on the floor was not shy about trying to help you find something if you have something in mind so don't be afraid to ask. The store could get overwhelming but it was more like a treasure hunt for me. They have a store across the street called Adjectives Unhinged but I never made it that far. It more of a place where people can look at pieces being refinished and you can bring your own to have it made the way you like it. They also have workshops for those who aren't afraid of a few splinters and dusts on their clothes. BTW: Those in Winter Park can visit one of their newer locations in the WP Village. Lots of it too, cause they aren't cheap. The new expanded location itself is the best version of the store to date, w lots of vendors haeking there antique and custom made furniture. Many are great at the rustic designs and the store has many beautifal pictures. Every visit i leave dissapointed due to the fact I don't live in Orlando and transporting of large furniture is difficult and possibly frowned upon by societal norms...i think. First time walking into this store from a dear friend of mine telling me I had to go check out the awesome store and all their unique furniture so I did today, and they have great unique modern & antique items! I have no problem with the store in general but as I and my friend were walking through the store someone whom I though worked there but apparently was a Vendor there, since I learned they have particular vendors rent out certain areas of the store, he comes and says to us "This isn't a museum! Go and Buy something you know? Go and Buy something, Not just look around!" Not sure if he thought this was humorous to say but I was pretty offended! Beware of their rude vendors throughout their store. The actual Employees of Adjectives Market are pleasant and nice but will not be back. Don't need this type of service while shopping! read more

Fun place to scavenge through collectibles antiques and furnishings. Employees are kind and let you browse at your own pace. There's also booths, that seem to be run by various vendors. It's a cool idea but you also get a mix of different personalities operating within the same store. Good variety of things to look through. There's definitely items mixed in that are not antique or vintage and most likely being mass produced currently. Otherwise not sure if you can get a bargain at this store or not. I've seen the reviews and ads in the Orlando Weekly and finally had a chance to stop by a few weeks ago. The place is big like a typical large antique shop except you won't find strange smells you can't place (My God..is that mold? It's mold, isn't it?) or cobwebs and creepy things you're a 100% will curse you in some way. The antiques here are definitely treated like treasures; clean, organized, and well taken care of. The prices are also very reasonable for the larger pieces I saw. The postcards (what I like to pickup when I'm overwhelmed by everything else), were a little on the pricey side, but each in a plastic sleeve and in good shape. My wife and I bought a credenza from the Altamonte Springs store in late summer 2022. In late fall we noticed a very fine powder inside several areas of the piece. Our exterminator happened to be treating our home's exterior, and we had him take a look. He identified the damage as being caused by post hole beetles. We called adjectives and worked with Peter. We were incredibly impressed by the quality of his responsiveness and customer service. They came out to get the piece and treated it twice professionally, to no avail. He replaced the piece, and Adjectives delivered the new piece to our home. We have been to the store multiple times and almost always make a purchase. There's a little bit of everything, and the used (vendor) areas have some fantastic retro pieces. read more

My fiancee and I had randomly come across Trader Mae's while in Apopka and google pointed us towards Adjectives as something else we might like. The Altamonte location is huge and filled with great pieces of furniture and art. There's a lot of original art and furniture and a lot of repurposed or refurbished farmhouse style items. It's like Pottery Barn except a fraction of the price. Local artists and some national sellers too display their work in more than 80 stalls. Items rotate heavily so in just a week there's already new items to buy. We ended up getting a great farmhouse style coffee table, two desks, and two nightstands. The quality is fantastic and the artists do a great job of polishing and cleaning up the pieces. I'd encourage you to take a look at their website as every week they feature some of their favorite pieces. Adjectives is truly unique. They offer so many different vintage styles of decor, furniture, housewares, etc. The location is big and I can easily spend over an hour just looking. The workers are super nice and helpful. I decided on a set of cordial glasses to buy, and the clerk picked them all up and moved them to the "hold" table for me. The only draw back is some of the items, actually a lot of the items can be really pricey. Spanning several hundred dollars to easily over $1000. Many of the pieces of furniture are beautiful tho. Overall, this is a great place to spend some time looking and shopping and getting inspiration. They offer workshops on various items too like photography and painting. Check it out! read more

When you think antique store you think older, dingy and cluttered. Not here. This spot is huge, organized and easy to move around in. Each little room is a different vendor and you can feel their theme as soon as you lay eyes on the area.
