I've always heard about this place so we drove by check it out. Basically a Gothic and spiritual store mixed in one. It has snakes in a jar. Cloths, versus tarot reading cards knick knacks bones jewelry and a wide selection of coffee they also serve coffee here which I thought was pretty nice lots of friendly staff in there. Small place was pretty busy. He had a lot of cool stuff in there I'd come back again.
I visited the store again to support the Pumpkins for 'Possums event. It was wonderful to see everyone who came out to support. I appreciated how the store and event was ran with separate lines for the the entry into the store and the line for interacting with the possum. I waited in the line for the store which only took about 10 minutes. The store was packed with people but even more importantly, really cool Halloween merch! I liked the photo op area in the front of the store. I this the store hosting this charity event was amazing. I waited in line for the possum where I got to pet the possum and donate. I even got a pumpkin to take home.
I knew what to expect here and it was out of this world and intriguing. It's like a museum to me. Think gothic, Halloween, tales from the crypt, dark and gloomy, dark science lab, oddities, witch craft. So many ideas passed through my head, but it was especially eye catching, surprising and interesting. It's small but fully loaded up with stuff to see. Check it out! Everyone was especially nice working here and they have a coffee tea bar here. Pretty cool unique concept. Can't find this everywhere.
Fantastic customer service! Everyone is super nice and helpful! Hands on store, you can touch and explore all their unique items! If you love spooky this is your place to go!
A spooky ship for Halloween year round. This store has a great selection of goth/spooky items. I went for their 5 year anniversary and it was quite packed so I didn't get many photos. It isn't a big location but there is quite a lot inside. They have some items that you can find online and other items that are made by local artists. I would say the pricing is a little higher but not too unaffordable. I found a gorgeous gothic lace sleeve piece that I found online for $3 less. I would rather support locally so I had no problem paying a little more. The staff was friendly and helped take photos of my family and zi around their coffin. I'm not sure if the coffin is always there or just there for the anniversary, but it was a fun photo spot. If you're in the area or looking for a place to get some Goth or spooky gear, I highly recommend checking this place out. They also have coffee so you can get your caffeine fix while here too. You can even try on the clothing in the bathroom where they have a cool coffin mirror.
Very small niche spot for exotic oddities! We stopped here wanting to do some Halloween shopping. We knew they were gothic in nature and has seen ads online, but we didn't really look further into it before visiting. It was an amazing experience walking into a photo op and seeing they had fresh coffee grounds and breed tea - along with wet specimens and taxidermy. Attached are photos of my favorite squirrel! We are BIG fans and are already planning out a display shelf for our (future) goods.
Such a fun store with a lot of cool novelties they change it every once in a while the different themes they have a lot of horror items for purchase as well as Gothic items from necklaces to more bizarre items, such as taxidermy and snakes and fun things in jars. Great place to get things to decorate your house, clothes to wear, and fun jewelry.
For all the goth and spooky souls out there. This shop has everything you need. I took my time to look at everything here. It is decorated with something interesting in every corner. I got a Nosferatu T-shirt and a Coffee Shop of Horrors bag of coffee. The store has jewelry, swords, cosplay clothing, herb jars, taxidermy and trinkets.
In the non descript shopping plaza, Shoppes Howell Branch is the self proclaimed weirdest coffee shop in Orlando. I also anoint it the coolest shop in Orlando. Welcome to Prometheus Esoterica, an oddities boutique in the Abbey Rose Vintage Shop, curated by husband and wife, Adam DeLancett and Whitney Hayes. I have really wanted to visit here ever since discovering them on social media. On a trip to Winter Park to visit my daughter I finally got an opportunity to satisfy my curiosity. Inside the dark interior is an eclectic assortment of items from the owners private collection mixed in with taxidermy, antiques, uranium glass, goth clothing, books, old photographs, artisan made crafts, candles, gemstones, accessories, plush toys, coffee, and tea all for sale. You can take your coffee and tea with you to make at home or enjoy a freshly brewed cup in the store. You can easily imagine that Wednesday Adams or Lydia Deetz would feel right at home here. Friendly staff are around every corner to chat, offer suggestions, or give you the history on the unusual specimens like the two headed fetal pig named Ham and Bacon. I love supporting small businesses and I purchased a sweetly spooky Pennywise headband for my daughter. Other favorite items included a bat bottle opener and an opossum coffee mug that you turn upside down to use. Prometheus Esoterica will be participating in the Orlando Oddities and Curiosities Market on June 29th at Osceola Heritage Park. Follow them on Instagram to keep up on all the latest and greatest merchandise.
I love this store. It's hard to find really good gothic places and this one is definitely up there. They serve great coffee and tea and have an awesome environment of cool items and oddities. The price for a cup of coffee is fair and cheap and worth it to try the rotating flavors. My only complaint is that I have the bad luck of when i find a ring i like there, my size is out. And would like to find some good pants but otherwise, love the place and try to swing by anytime I'm in town
I can't believe I waited so long to check out this shop! It made my oddity loving self so happy! The store has a variety of unique items, clothing, art, decor, old time medical related items, wet and dry specimens (which I was happy to hear were humanely sourced), and many other things. On top of all that, they serve yummy coffees and teas that are very inexpensive. The staff here were all friendly and happy to answer questions or give more info about their unique items. The staff let us know that items rotate regularly and soon they will be having items themed more towards ren faire style. It gives a great reason to go back and see the rotation of stock for sale. If you enjoy things that may be considered strange and unusual, check this place out!
I can't believe I have left Florida for three years and I have never been here. This Hass to be the coolest store I have ever been in. From the taxidermy on the walls, to the animals in the little jars, and all the oddities and curiosities your heart can desire in one space. I might've spent a couple dollars here; however I talked to the staff and they are unbelievably nice. One of the gentleman in the store talking to me he mentioned I should check out a Bar called permanent vacation so I'm definitely gonna have to go there. I picked up a Viking Necklace, a bat necklace, a spooky clown sticker and a stunning colar. If you like anything spooky an audit you should definitely come here it is right next to Donut King across from nothing on Howell's Ranch Road. 10/10
Ecstatic to have found a year round Spooky coffee shop! @prometheusesoterica is a boutique shop with endless displays to explore. From specimens to tarot cards to witchcraft books, there are many cool items for sale. They offer different 'Coffee Shop of Horrors' coffee grounds to make at home or sip while you shop. I enjoyed the "Ichabod's Dame Pumpkin Spice" coffee with oatmilk and honey. They also sell unique mixes of tea like the "Prometheus Esoterica" in whiskey chai flavor. The place is thoroughly decorated from wall to ceiling with intriguing Oddities. Handicap accessible layout of the store. I truly appreciate the dairy-free creamer option with beverages. My girl friends and I loved dressing in black and indulging in out-of-the-box shopping. I even scored a Wednesday Addams shirt. We went home with lots of goodies and already planning our return! WOW!!! What a find!!!! If you are a supporter of unique & specialty procured horror objects, this is the shop for you. This is a specialty shop with very unique items for those with highly specific spooky objects of desire for individual procurement. If you are not interested in taxidermy, kitsch -creepy americana, or other oddities, this shop will not be of interest to you. However, if this sounds intriguing to you, I highly recommend you stop in and check them out!!! Be quick about it, however! They change the offerings by seasonally!!! read more
This store is wild! If you're into creepy crawlers, the sprit realm, black magic, tarot, witch and wizardry, wicka, Satanism, graphic medical books of the anus and more, Prometheus Esoterica is the place for you. There are many unique finds here and yes they do have something for everyone even people that aren't into all I mentioned above. There have everything from preserved bottled snakes to tee shirts available. They have a good selection of one of a kind jewelry available and a bunch of quality animal skulls and taxidermy for sale. If you need a quick pick me up they have a little coffee shop inside and they also sell a a variety of coffee blends from The coffee shop of horrors company. Pricing is reasonable for some items but others are out of my range. I guess it's all about how bad you really want it. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. They are willing to help if you need assistance with anything, great job! If you're in the market for something unique, spooky, or a bit creepy I highly recommend stopping in to check them out. read more

I've been visiting Prometheus Esoterica in Winter Park for the past three years, and it has become one of my favorite places in Central Florida. A good portion of my home is decorated with treasures from this shop, and every visit feels like stepping into a wonderfully macabre museum filled with oddities, art, antiques, horror memorabilia, and unique curiosities. The owners are absolutely fantastic; kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They've helped us acquire some of our coolest oddities, including a giant Wendigo head. When it accidentally fell from its mount and cracked, the owner happily helped us repair it and reinforced the mounting system. That level of customer service is rare and says everything about how much they care about their customers. The entire staff is wonderful. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They remember you, make thoughtful recommendations, and always make you feel like a returning friend rather than just another shopper. The selection is amazing, the prices are fair, and there is always something new to discover, including items from local artists and vendors. I also have to share one of my more... spiritually compromising purchases. I bought an ancient Sumerian death mask after being warned very clearly never to wear it. Naturally, I wore it. I was immediately possessed by the spirit of Mervyn the Magnificent, Lord of Suction, an ancient Sumerian vacuum salesman. I proceeded to call everyone in my family and aggressively pitch them premium carpet-cleaning solutions. During one brief moment of spiritual weakness, I managed to call Prometheus Esoterica and explain what had happened. The person on the phone recited an ancient Sumerian incantation: "Zuum-ba-ra, dust be gone-- Release this fool before dawn!" The spirit departed my body almost immediately. My family has since blocked my number, but I remain grateful. One of my favorite things about Prometheus is how the shop transforms throughout the year. The rotating themes bring in fresh merchandise and completely new aesthetics, along with fantastic photo opportunities. The atmosphere is dark, theatrical, cozy, and immersive--more like a gothic curiosity cabinet or a horror-themed museum than an ordinary store. I absolutely love Prometheus Esoterica and will remain a loyal customer for life. Amazing owners, incredible employees, great customer service, fair prices, an outstanding selection, and one of the coolest shops anywhere around Orlando. If you love oddities, horror, the strange, or the beautiful and bizarre, this place is essential. read more

VERY unique store! They also sell coffee and tea to enjoy right there in the store. The store gets dressed up for the holidays and always has something new to display. A lot of local vendors sell their art here too. Its normally very busy and being a small store only so many can come in at once. I have seen a line to get in more than once. It's just that cool. read more

Let's start with the warm custom service. For a shop that size they had plenty of friendly staff to offer a hand, opinion or courteous space. I walked in just to check it out and was greeted at the front door immediately. They introduced me to some pieces made by local artists as well as exclusive staples to the shop. As I went deeper in the aroma of fresh brewed coffee caught my attention. I was told that I can have as many samples as I want and what creamer, if any, would enhance the experience. I ended up buying a cup of my second sample and can tell you, as an avid 4x a week Starbucks and 2x a week Dunkin & weekend foxtail aficionado this coffee is GOOD. I will definitely be adding it to my rotation. I purchased two t shirts as well and will be returning for their Black Friday holiday launch. This gem is a definite must visit spot for the spooky & curious. Asking if plentiful and the shop is cozy & spacious. read more

When I first walked in it was super cramped; not a negative thing--it just shows just how appealing the place is. I came back and it was a little less---o was in awe at just how beautiful and interesting their merch was; from antiques to indeed oddities--their Krampus decor and merch looked super fun; I left with some horns, a night light and a skeleton key. There was just a lot to choose from. They were friendly and welcoming. read more

I was brought into this store on a whim thanks to the suggestion of the tattoo shop next door and it was the best advice I was ever given. This shop is a GEM! The staff/owner? (I forget his name) is so incredibly friendly and talks to you as if you're a friend who walked in. They don't pressure you to buy anything and are always excited to talk about things like taxidermy with you. All of the walls are packed with the craziest and best array of stuff from gems and surgical equipment to wet specimens skull and crowns. Even with their own coffee in store! I've come back several times and they seem to go through items pretty fast, things sell FAST do not expect to be able to come back for that item you love. But they do a good job restocking with items of the same category and you can always request something specific and they seem very willing to try and get some for you! An amazing little store that gives me so much joy read more
