This place is a great option if you're looking for odds and ends for your home. Typically, they post online what they have so if there's something that catches your eye, you can go on Saturday and try and beat everyone to it. I think it's first come, first serve so go early and find your item. It can get pretty crowded and flagging down a salesperson wasn't overly difficult and they manage to work with multiple customers at a time. Once you check out, they get your stuff and you're off and running. Loading your vehicle can be a challenge as many people are backing their vehicles in and out, carrying stuff down the stairs, and just being in the way. It's worth a stop if you're in the area and are in need of something for your home. But don't drive in from Melbourne or Seattle just to browse.

I would not recommend this store at all unless you want to waste your money and time. I purchased a…read morehat from the store for $80 today, described as a vintage item. However, I found the exact same hat (same brand, size, and model) on the official website being sold for $52. This is the regular retail price, not a discounted sale price (photos below). Besides, I bought another thing which the owner didn't know about the price and charged me expensive.

Everything is curated by the couple that owns the shop, Wendy and Marvin, and they are constantly bringing in new stuff. Every trip is like visiting a new, but still super awesome, store. BUT, I do have to say one thing....unfortunately, you cannot take home the shop's lovely and amazing "employee," Carol. She is Marvin's mother, and she is an angel on earth. Really, she is. I visit this store about once every 4 months and she always remembers me; now, we just walk around and chat about all the amazing history and curiosities. I should also say that this place's prices are reasonable. There is another retro furniture store in Orlando, and EoR's prices are nowhere near theirs. They also have vintage clothing, custom hats, and lots of art and decor. Ok, I'll stop. I could go on forever. I'll attach just a few photos of things I have purchased, considering half my home was furnished at Echoes of Retro.

One of the reasons it's my favorite shop is because of how curated it is. There's a smaller home section with a huge selection of dishes and fine china. There's also other good home finds as well. The clothing section is good, but not so large it's overwhelming. I love the designer section, there's always something good there. Additionally, they just added a trinket trade box to the store, so be sure to check that out!!

According to their website, Out of the Closet Thrift Store (OTC) was founded in 1990 to help raise funds and awareness for AIDS Healthcare Foundation. When you shop or donate at Out of the Closet, 96 cents of every dollar made goes to AIDS Healthcare Foundation's HIV prevention and treatment services. Dropping donations off is very easy- you pull up just past the front retail door to another closed exterior door which has a sign to ring a bell for assistance. From there someone comes out to receive the donations. As a thrift shop, I've been able to find a great furniture piece as well as a few tops. They have lots of clothes and some home goods, depending on the week. With that said, it's not the best thrift store in terms of inventory and pricing, but you know you're supporting a good cause and there are some hidden gems. I'll keep donating here and perusing for some fun thrift finds!
