Went yesterday Sunday October 21st. Spent an hour trying to get in the parking lot and then attempted to find a spot. Worst experience ever, never again. Saw the line just to get in and gave up, that would've easily been another hour and probably another just to buy tickets and yet another for the hayride or train from what I saw... no thanks. This is a great spot for smaller kids! It's a great pumpkin patch for taking pictures with the little ones. Tickets for activities are a bit pricey $3/ticket. I didn't mind the price but throwing some information out since I didn't see any of this when I looked at the reviews. The train ride was a ticket per person and the petting zoo 2. Entrance is $7 which is pretty cheap. The pumpkins are pretty cheap as well. read more

My girlfriend And I visited this farm for the first time! It was a beautiful scene, minus the absolute lack of social distancing and sanitary practice. But hey, we chose to go too. This place has become a family tradition. They have hay rides and a new train ride for 2.00 per person. This year they only allowed you to cut a tree over 7 ft tall and they starting off price is 69.00 or more. We paid 99.00 for an 8 ft tall tree that was pre cut. They offer pre cut fir trees and this year we.just couldn't find "the one" to cut down and take home. Thus we settled for a pre cut. Pumpkin Patch Review. We went today with our 16 month old and some friends that have babies the same age. We had a great time. It was cute had a lot of places to take pictures and free wagons to haul the pumpkins. $5 to get in is cheaper than most places around but you do have to pay extra for rides, but with toddlers who can't do any of the jump houses we were fine with just a hayride around the property. My favorite part was how it didn't feel overly crowded and we could let the toddlers roam around without stressing. Perfect for photo ops and young children. read more

Pricey Trees, not so bright "tree helpers" and then they charge you $2.00 a ticket for your kid to jump in a bounce house for 3 minutes. 3 minutes!!!! Or you can choose from a slide where you pay $2.00 to let your kid slide 3 times. WTH? They are looking for any and every way to make a buck and it is very annoying. You would think that after paying $150.00 for a tree they would let your kid jump in the bounce house or slide down the slide. Then when you are leaving they accost you for a receipt to make sure you paid for your pricey tree. Seriously. This place has no loyalty of mine and certainly will get no referrals or recommendations. They should rework their customer service a little and maybe try and a little different approach than just charging people for everything. read more

For Halloween, they have a pumpkin patch, but it's $3 to get in, then you must pay for anything else - hay ride, train, pumpkins, etc. Seems a little excessive to charge an entrance fee. During Christmas, you can cut your own tree, ride a hay ride, etc. The prices are comparable to other places to get trees, but at least here, you know the unsold ones won't be turned into mulch. We went to get a fir tree because our usual spot in Magnolia did not have their trees set out yet. The Old Time Christmas Tree Farm shocked us with the amount of cars and people. We had to wait to get a price list in a very narrow line. Once we were in we saw the line to pay - wow was it long. But we were here so we were committed. We picked out a tree in about 10 minutes. We had no problem getting the attention of a worker to grab the tree for us. Then it was time to pay. The line took literally 30 minutes. Why? Only two cashiers. There were literally thousands of people in this place and a hundred employees by my estimate but only two cashiers. Meanwhile my tree was sitting in the staging area waiting for me. How easy it would be to have cashiers set up with mobile card readers. After that we got out of there never to return. After our long time Christmas Tree farm closed a few years ago we tried out Old Time Christmas Tree Farm and we haven't found a tree anywhere else since! We ventured out to a new place this year, the prices were shockingly cheaper, and immediately turned around and came back to Old Time Christmas Tree Farm. Old Time's quality is amazing, trees are shaped beautifully, we've never had a big problem from one of theirs, the staff is always lovely, and so many to choose from! I love this farm because they have so many trees to choose from and you get to cut it down yourself. In the main area, there is also fair food, a few kid things to do, and farm store with decorations. I would recommend for Christmas not buying the train ride because you get to go around the farm when you cut it down. It's only worth it for the Halloween time to pay for the train ride. As for the the tree cutting, the tractor takes you out and you are free to walk wherever to find your perfect tree. Once you find and cut it down, you get to hop back on the tractor with your tree. They then shake it out and wrap it up for you to take home, while you pay. After paying, they retrieve your tree and will help you tie it down to your car and/or provide the string so you can tie it down yourself. I recommend tying it down yourself as the kids who tied mine down, did not tie it down well. I live in the Heights, so it is about a 30 mile drive and soon after about a few miles the tree was moving. Luckily, I grabbed extra string and tied it down to make it more secure. If not for that, the Christmas tree would have flown off on to Beltway 8. Other then the Christmas tree tying issue, the the tree is super fresh. Be sure to get a hack saw if you don't already own one as you need to cute about an additional inch from the trunk. This is so it doesn't form sap on the bottom and your tree won't be able to drink any water. I came the day after Thanksgiving, so it wasn't too busy and lots of fresh trees to choose from. Prices aren't bad, so I highly recommend this for a one time experience or an annul tradition. My tree is sitting nicely inside my house and couldn't be happier. read more

Overall great place! We went today just by some websites recommendations. Our daughter is 6 and loved picking out her own tree and watching her dad cut it down. When you get there is tucked back off of the main road and its a huge farm. No entrance fee and a very helpful staff once you get there to explain things. We got on the hayride and headed out to the farm to pick our tree. We spent probably 45 mins out there looking around for our perfect tree. By the way you don't have to worry about bring anything; they have the saws, twine, measuring sticks, and the help to get it on your car. After you pick your tree they shake it out and net it up. Then they hold it in the front while you do what else you want. They have a train ride, santa pictures, and bounce houses. I'm sure they have other stuff but that's the main stuff in the front. I did love my snow cone, can never go wrong with a snow cone. Lots of area with farm animals, some you can pet, a couple parks for kids to play, and picture opportunities. Concessions were ok, they had good prices. One more of my favorite parts was that she also could see santa, get a picture, and all under $10 and no line. At the malls I've spent $30-$40 dollars and waited for over 2 hours. Great opportunity to do both. Ok now for the negative, which was the bounce house and the other little side games. They nickel and dime you to death. Are you serious $2 to go on ONE bounce house 3 times, when no one is even around. The people working this area were actually counting and paying attention. What child goes on a bounce house 3 times and is told to get off when there is like 2 other kids on any of the 4 choices of bounce houses. Oh and they don't want your child to switch between the 4, are you kidding, I have to pay $2 for each bounce house for her to go 3 times. Considering everyone coming in is spending $60-$150 dollars, I think this is a bit stupid. Overall though we had a great experience, santa was great, we even got a picture with Santa and Mrs.Clause. Great family day, good prices on the trees and a lot to do. We will be back, I just hope they can start giving a little to respect the paying customers and show some hospitality. read more

Honestly the idea is cute, but that's where it should've been left at. There were 3 small areas of pumpkins, many with stems missing if not all, bathrooms are overflowing with mess, the area is too small for the amount of people that show up. The pictures and descriptions online don't accurately describe the place. Anything bought isn't local and even the pumpkins are brought in from an outside source. There's gotta be better places than this. Not sure how it is in the winter, but fall is disappointing. read more

Very nice place. PLENTY of well maintained trees to choose from at decent prices. Even some precuts (which I'm not sure why you would want a precut tree, since the point of going to a tree farm is to cut your own...) Nice hayride experience to and from your tree cutting. Carnival-type food stands are OK but nothing spectacular. Truly nice kids attractions: blow up bouncy-house, slide, and obstacle course - $10 per child allows each child to experience each one three times. Nice train ride attraction that is about 8-10 minutes long, taking you around the entire farm. All-in-all, worth the drive from Houston to get a nice tree and have about two hours of quality family holiday time. read more

This place was fantastic! The price was right and the kids had a great time. You probably don't need to buy as many tickets as you think. They let the kids go in the bouncers three times per ticket, and they go in for rescues so momma doesn't have to have her booty stuck in the bouncer trying to get a stray child out. Went to the "pumpkin patch", it was awful. Just the line to get in and park is atrocious. Then you have to wait in a huge line to pay and get in, and another huge line to buy tickets so you can do any of the attractions. After that you have to wait in super long lines to use those tickets for the attractions. I waited an hour in line for a crappy $6 funnel cake to which the worker asked if I wanted to leave a tip....seriously? Basically you spend an absorbent amount of money to wait in really long lines in the blazing hot sun all day. I would go to P-6 farms or the oil ranch where everything is included in the ticket price and the lines aren't long. read more

I don't think I'll be back. We came when it was scorching hot, super crowded = long lines for the train ride, face painting, and the hay ride was slow, boring, and the heat didn't help. There really isn't much to do either. It was an experience, a one time experience. I've been to many pumpkin patches in my day. Mostly in Michigan. I have never had to pay an entry fee! $3 a head here. Then they gouge you for $2 per ticket if you want to ride anything...tractor ride, hay ride, blow up bouncy house and slide. The pumpkins are store bought (bulk) and shipped in unlike other places that grow them onsite. In my opinion, just a place that is looking to pull money from your pocket once you get in the door. We went out for our first visit to this tree farm and really had a good time. It was a lot more fun than just stopping at one of the cut Christmas tree vendors we drove past along the way. We were able to park close to the entrance and they explained how everything worked as soon as we walked in. We grabbed a saw and a tree measuring stick an went walking into the tree farm. They do offer rides on a tractor to bring you out into the farm but it stayed pretty busy so we just walked. We enjoyed picking our tree and then cutting it down while taking plenty of pictures. Fun place to bring kids and create memories. We will probably make this a family tradition instead of buying a tree at the grocery store like we have done in the past. We will be back! read more

Seems excessive to charge 3 bucks to get in plus 2 bucks for every ticket. The only thing that was free was looking or taking pictures. I'm surprised it didn't cost to bring in a camera. Pumpkins looked nice but were all jumbo size that cost 12 bucks. I would save your money and head to HEB to buy a pumpkin. read more

Every year I take my family, and every year I am more disspointed than the year prior. After paying $3 per person just to enter, you are then required to pay $2 per ticket for the children to enjoy the three bounce house/slides. There is a train ride and a hay ride whicha also require tickets. After a three hour wait for the train ride my children were no longer interested in anything else but going home. I bought the "value pack" of 15 tickets for $25 and left with 11 tickets. Value not for me! Advise to "Old Time Christmas Tree Farm": 1. Buy more bounce houses - you get enough revenue from your customers 2. Buy or build another train - this is the most popular ride since "Thomas the Train" 3. Looks like a great place, but super crowded . If you arrive early enough you it may be perfect for your youngins- rides, carnival food, and corn! We were actually discouraged by how long the line was to pay for the tree. We turned around to load up and go somewhere else. If we were more patient and our toddler was older we probably would have stuck it out. We will try this next year in addition to dewberry for pumpkin patches and update my review then. read more

Great place for family outings. Compared to other seasonal activities such as the Houston Rodeo and Renaissance festival, the $3 entry fee for the pumpkin patch here is not a big deal at all. False advertisement! The only thing i would say they did a great job on is their website... Its very misleading from the pictures and descriptions it looks and sounds big with lots of stuff to do but its far from that. The "barn animals" are all of 2 bunnies, the corn maze is really just the waiting area for the hayride (which is about the size of a small living room) of hay bundles to sit on, the hayride is a 5min circle, they DO have a playground (with NO shade) but to play on it you have to make RESERVATIONS!?!? The bouncy houses look amazingly smaller than the pictures online and the only restrooms available were hot disgusting port o pottys (there is no diaper changing area that i notice anywhere for those with little ones) nor was there anywhere to wash your hands... Dont get me wrong its cute and any toddler would probably enjoy it.. but ive got kids ages 3, 6, and 9 and my friends kids 8 and 10 so was far from what we expected from looking online about it.. hope i save a family from wasting all that money we spent at the door and on tickets. Not impressed. Expensive to get in and everything once you are in required tickets, would rather pay a higher price to get in and have everything be part of that fee. The giant bouncing air bag contraption was in direct sunlight and on a 90 degree day was so hot that none of the kids would bounce on it. The lines for the bouncy house and bouncy slide were insane because they poor kids working it had no idea what they were doing. At one point there was literally one kid in the bouncy house, that is totally inefficient on a Sunday when there are 45 kids in line. Pumpkins were overpriced- could find cheaper options at the grocery store and they had no other fall items- no gourds, no corn stalks, no hay bales. We basically paid $20 to get in and get a few pictures of my kids sitting on piles of pumpkins. Overall not what we expected based on the description and the website. Very nice selection on about 40 acres of trees. Several different varieties. We had a very nice, leisurely time picking and cutting our tree. For the size we picked it was about 30% more than Home Depot but the tree looks much better than what they had available. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed our trip. Stay away!!! The pre-cut large Fraser fir trees they had our were all broken and filled with holes. We asked if they had more, after waiting ONE hour they brought out a another. The guys were sitting on the tree as they hauled it out, all the bottom branches were broken prior to even removing the mesh holding the tree together. They proceeded to pull all the good branches off once again leaving holes everywhere. The manager in charge, I believe her name was Tracy, although she never once bothered to speak with me said absolutely nothing to me. We had a backup tree that was 2 feet shorter as we didn't want to go home without anything after spending an 1 1/2 hours there. My husband had pulled the tag off that tree but someone else must have been hovering around and bought that tree out from under us as we were finally looking at the broken, larger tree we had waited an hour to see. The woman who took my tree was rude and said she already paid for it. Wow, amazing Christmas spirit! Tracy just stared at us and didn't try to help at all, big surprise. You'd think if you want to spend $259 on a tree they would help you find one. Don't waste your money at this place, the trees are dried out and not well taken care of and most importantly, they don't care about their customers! read more

My 8 year old daughter had a good time, but if you go on the last weekend before Halloween, be prepared to stand in line most of the time. We spent 4.5 hours there, but waited in line for 3 of those hours. For example, my daughter was the 9th child in line for face painting and it took 70 minutes to get her face painted. Lastly, I did not see one no smoking sign on their website or at the farm, so I decided to walk over to an area away from everyone to smoke a cigarette while my family was waiting in line. Mind you, I had seen a handful of people smoking at this point, so I thought it was permitted, being an open air venue. A lady who was selling snacks walked over and yelled at me that smoking is not allowed. She also yelled loud enough for 20 or 30 people to hear that I was smoking near gas storage tanks. As an adult, I had never been more embarrassed. Of course I knew those tanks were there so I moved 50' away while I smoked. If the business owners read this, 1 no smoking sign at the entrance would have been enough for my compliance. And by law, you need to label all tanks.
