The MacDonald's Farm is conveniently located right off 1960 in Humble, TX. This place has been around for years and offers a great spot for a family outing. From riding a train around the farm to petting goats to running around on a huge playground, this Farm is an all around good time! Pros: Activities: This place is packed with all types of things to do. There are several animals you can pet (Goats, Llamas, chickens, Cow, pony's and many more. There's a train that goes around the whole farm (included in your admission) and you can ride it as much as you want. They have several spots throughout the facility to reserve for birthday parties . There a HUGE mound of sand for the kids to have fun and a big playground. Plenty of places to take great photos! Location: I dread the words "It's off 1960" because this stretch of road has horrible traffic and some spots are not the best areas to be around but this spot is an excellent location. For all my golf folks, Tour 18 is right across the street ‍ Cons: Price: For a family of four (includes a 16 month old) we paid $80.00 plus food for animals for a total of $89.00. I know everything has gone up recently but I was a little blown away by this price. I would've expected a little more animals to pet or even some outdoor games to make up for this amount. Parking: Get here early or you will be parking in the "additional" parking spot which is a mowed field. Nothing against a mowed field but it isnt close so be ready to walk a little. Came here for the first time for my nephews first birthday party. I see the animals are lucky that the people come and feed these animals, but where in the hell are the horses water ? The big bucket is empty . The potbelly big didn't even have water. What a shame. If I were to come back would be with the animal control. Game warden. Cute place to take kids. Pretty dang expensive though. About $20 per person. Kids under 18 months are free. They do have quite a few animals to admire and feed, pony rides, a train, playground areas for kids, a duck pond, a mountain of sand. As far as the animals go, they have llamas, sheep, goats, horses, cows, turtles, rabbits, chickens, ducks, pigs, and a donkey. You can go into a few of the pens to feed the animals. Others you can only feed from the outside. Some of the animals you can't feed. They specify all the rules at the front desk. We came strictly for the farm animals since our 14-month-old daughter has never met any. She's too young for playgrounds or sand mountains so we really only viewed the animals and took a train ride. Good thing she was free. If you're paying for a whole family to visit, you might as well spend a few hours here. Make sure you bring hats, water, sunblock. There wasn't a lot of shade (by the animal pens, at least) so it was HOT. Fairly large parking lot but it fills up. We barely found a spot. Went here with our 15mo old because he is obsessed with farm animals (in books) but has never seen them in person. We rode the train a couple of times, he got a pony ride, and we fed some animals, so overall the trip served its purpose. The cages for some of animals are a little small and are mostly concrete and dirt, so I hope that they get let out into the yard after hours to graze. The horses and deer do have a nice large pasture, but the cows were in tiny enclosures. Feed is $2 per bag, which is fair, but it's kind of hard to feed some of the animals where the fence I holes are so narrow. Staff is all very friendly and there is a swimming pool available for use included in entry fee (with lifeguard). This was nice to cool off afterward because it was SUPER hot outside. We had a lovely day at the farm, and surprised by everything they offer here: unlimited train rides, pony riding, $2 feeding bag if you want to feed the ducks and rabbits, lots of farm animals (you can actually go into the fence and pet most of them!!!), slides and play set. They have a pool that's open during the summer time too. All the staff are super friendly and welcoming. Why 4 stars? Because our toddler was certainly happy all day here. --- --- --- When you have a nearly 3-year old in your life, if he's happy, you're happy. It really is that simple. And our son was pretty content with his life from start to finish here. To be honest, the only time he was not pleased was when he learned that a pony ride only lasted one lap around the track. We had no idea he would have cared about doing that, but after we were done, he said "horsey, horsey" approximately 512 times until we took him back for a second ride. And then another round of several hundred, tearful cries for horsey came after that until we asked him if he wanted ice cream. He miraculously was no longer sad and we headed to the concession stand for some delicious, Blue Bell. Other than horses and ice cream, Old MacDonald's Farm has several pens with different animals for petting: goats, sheep, chickens, cows, horses, pigs, etc. The craziest thing to me was that there is no employee supervising these pens at all. As a matter of fact, we only saw one employee outside of the check-in/concession area the entire day. It certainly made it convenient and easy to see all of the animals, but I couldn't help but assume there might be some animal escapes happening here on a daily basis due to that lack of supervision. There were also countless playgrounds all throughout the property that our son loved. The only thing that would prevent us from coming here more often is the distance from our house being about an hour long drive. Well, that and the $48 admission for a family of three. It was a tad more expensive than I would have assumed, but it was still a nice day at the farm. read more

We arrived at 3:45 on a Saturday. Was absolutely shocked at the $20 per person entrance fee. We just moved from CA and wanted to make our first weekend here special for our kids, but wow these are California prices! I thought ok....we got a couple hours, it closes at 5pm per the sign. As we're paying the girl said, oh we close at 4pm today. So basically we paid $80 for an hour. I wasn't about to make my kids have a full scale meltdown, and be disappointed. But honestly it just seems greedy to me that they wouldn't offer a lower rate if you come later in the day. And for $80 you would expect a lot more. It's basically just some rabbits you can pet. All other animals you can only feed from behind a fence. Pony rides were lame as they don't allow them to go above a slow walk. I've been to ones where they properly strap you in and the horses will trot (for older kids). The only saving grace was the train guy. He was awesome and we tipped him because he allowed my little guy to ring the bell and sit in the conductor spot to blow the horn and ring the bell. My kids liked the dirt pile and spent like 20 mins doing that, so it's like we paid $35 to play in a pile of dirt lmao. read more

Pretty easy to find, we originally went on a Saturday it was too crowded! So we came back on a weekday. Just be forewarned they do not enforce wearing masks and honestly I barely saw anyone wearing one but people were social distancing (sort of). Parking is free and the cost is $14 per person. Not bad at all considering kids get a free pumpkin! The farm activities were fun. My kids got to ride the train and play on the swings/playground. When it came time to view the animals to be honest the animals looked sad and pitiful. There was a group of kids there for a field trip who terrorized the poor animals especially the bunnies. Poor bunnies kept running away while loud screaming kids fighting to pick them up! The animals were probably my least favorite out of the farm due to the animals looking pitiful and frankly unhappy (We visited Blessington Farms a few months before much better experience) Kids also get to ride a small horse for free! I wanted to go to a pumpkin patch with a friend and this place was suggested. It's 14.90 for adults to entrance and online it said pumpkins are $3. There was a petting zoo, pony rides and a train as well. The poor pigs had grossly overgrown hooves that were impossible to walk on and the cow was utterly depressed standing in a concrete box. I felt awful even contributing money to this place when clearly animal welfare was far from their first priority. Also, there was no supervision of any sort and I saw many kids screaming at the animals and roughly handling them. I would go so far as to say some of the animals seemed sedated, the rabbits didn't move around AT ALL they all could just barely open their eyes and look around. Also, I never ended up getting a pumpkin because apparently pumpkins are for children only, if that was specified online, I probably wouldn't have even came. This is a really cool farm for kids. It has a lot to offer and tons of animals to see. Large playgrounds, train ride around the property, lots of photo op areas, pony rides, and even a large pool area to swim. Most all the animals were active and fed right out of your hands. My kids love it here! Careful with the Goats they like to snatch the entire feed bag never fails! I like the upgrades they've done in the last 5 years, small, but very useful! Like the train line/roof the awesome pumpkin patch etc. I just wish there was more shade, specially on the toddler playground. The man that rides the train is such a nice guy! He's been there for as long as I can remember and he's always full of energy and nice to everyone! Such a cute farm! I came to Old Macdonald's farm with the intention of bringing my daughter to what I thought was a pumpkin patch. The place is an actual farm, with animals for petting..and in addition they do have a small area where there are pumpkins. So definitely don't expect to see the ground covered in pumpkins, the place is primarily a petting zoo. The farm itself was very open, and had two playgrounds. It was a huge open space, and although there were many people the place didn't feel crowded what so ever. They had pony/horse rides, train rides, a barn full of hay and plenty of animals for petting! I would definitely recommend stopping by to visit. However, the line to get in was so long around noon. So, if you have impatient small children I do recommend showing up early. For $10/person (CASH ONLY!) including kids (babies under 18mo free), you have access to feeding llamas, goats, deer, and other farm animals and a bunch of other outdoor activities. If you pay $1 you get a sack of feed to feed the animals with through the fence. There's also overpriced concession items in the front but I'd skip those not only cause they're overpriced but because the area was teeming with giant flies. Ew. We didn't actually get to pet any animals (all the gates to the animal cages were locked as was the petting zoo) but there were plenty of other things to do: a duck pond, chicken coops, a giant wooden fort/playground thing with bridges and tunnels to explore, swings, train rides, hay bales, pony rides, giant flocks of very friendly pigeons, and a pumpkin patch if it's October. Definitely don't wear shoes you particularly care about to the farm since it is dusty/dirty on the ground. You can push a stroller around the grounds since it's not too uneven. Overall it's a nice way to spend a few hours on a pretty Houston winter or fall day...it definitely beats staying indoors on the rare days when Houston is gorgeous! I don't know if I'd come back considering the price but you should try it at least once if you're in the area. read more

This nostalgic landmark remains a go-to for families, and didn't disappoint when our great-granddaughter celebrated her second birthday. Although the heat was abundant that day, the family enjoyed the activities that have remained in place for many, many years. We had a shaded picnic table for guests and party fixins, small bags of animal food, and many photo ops. The train conductor was very friendly and gave our group two runs, much to our enjoyment. I think our birthday girl was in awe of the animals, especially her ride on the pony, with caring attendants. I'm glad this "farm" is still putting smiles on the faces of families! read more

I thought it was cool, however, that most animal cages are open, so the kids can go in and pet and/or the animals. A bag of feed is only $1. Our experience here was pretty awful. These guys are dishonest and could care less about their customers. Here's a recount of our truly unforgettable morning. We got flooded with 6 feet of water during Harvey. My daughter is 3 years old and loves ponies. I don't know why. But all she talks about is ponies and horses. Her rocking horse and other pony toys were lost in the flood. She's been asking for replacement toys, but I lost my job during the oil downturn and with the flood as salt in the wound, we've had to spend the money on house repairs and essentials. I thought as a Christmas present I'd surprise her with a real pony ride. I had passed by this farm many times. It is near my parent's house which was convenient as we lost both our cars in the flood and have been relying on them to shuttle us around. I called the farm early the week of Christmas to confirm if there was any sort of limit on how many times my daughter could ride the ponies, seeing as that's the main reason I was taking her. The lady was very nice and said there was no limit to how many times she could ride. But they ask that after 3 times in a row you do something else and then come back later. Sounded reasonable to me. She said rides were from 10-3 on weekdays and 10-4 on weekends. So we went a couple days later, right when they opened at 10 to beat the crowd. I asked the girl at the front desk if the ponies were out, noting that's why we came. She said yes. My daughter was so excited. We were charged a $1 bag of animal feed, which apparently was not optional. We went straight to the pony ride. But nobody was there to let us in. We went back to the front desk and the girl there said it should have started at 10 with the train ride at 11. The worker behind her (who turned out to be the pony worker) said no. Wait another 20 minutes until 10:30. So we walked around the farm, but everything was wet as it has rained the day before. My daughter had no interest in feeding the animals with the obligatory feed we were charged for. At 10:30 we went to the pony ride and waited. We said hi to the worker who eventually came, and he didn't bother replying. When he was ready, he let my daughter go around the small circle. But only twice. There was nobody there, other than him and two other pony workers sitting around doing nothing but chatting to each other. Mind you, each ride was only 1 minute long. So that's like 2 minutes total for both rides. I told him the lady on the phone had told me we could do 3 times in a row. He said no. Only twice. I went to the front desk and told the girl at the front desk what I was told over the phone. The girl said I was misinformed and in fact we can only ride the pony 3 times total for the entire day. Not in a row. She said only the train ride was unlimited riding. That totally was not what we were told. So I asked to speak to the owner. She said the owner and manager weren't in that entire day. How convenient. I asked the girl at the front desk when the train ride would start, since it was a little past 11 already. She said the driver was off working on the farm. Apparently there has to be enough people to make it worth his while to drive the train. Thankfully a small pre-school group came and went to the train. When the driver saw this he came to the train station. The ride was nice and he even went around twice without having to ask. After that the school group went to the pony ride. My daughter asked if she could ride again. So we followed them hoping we squeeze in a ride. We waited at the back of the line and let them go first. When everyone had finished and left, and the last boy came back from his ride, my daughter climbed to the top of the stairs to board the pony as the last boy was getting off. The worker looked at us and then took the pony away from the stairs so my daughter could not get on and he tied the pony to the fence post. No pony ride for you. He went back to chatting with the other two workers. My jaw just dropped. Are these guys for real? My daughter stood there at the top of the stairs, as her eyes started to tear up. I called my parents to come pick us up. Enough is enough. My daughter told me she no longer wants to ride ponies. Thanks, Old McDonald's Farm, for the unforgettable Christmas memories. read more
