    Terracotta warrior replica

Not worth $10 per adult plus $2 parking. It may be worth $2 to park and go to the flea market next door. Lucky Land itself is just an odd mix of asian themed photo opportunities. Most things are poorly maintained and haphazardly assembled. The only thing real here are the koi.

This place is so cool. My dad took my daughter and they had a ball. It's so cool that we have a place like this to experience a different culture. Very affordable. They had different sections that showcased different styles of Asian culture. I would suggest everyone visit this small local business!

    Happy Chinese New Year!

This was my first time here. So, I didn't know what to expect. I got here in the early afternoon, and parking was already full in the immediate Lucky Land lot. But, across the street, I was able to park in that lot for $2. So, bring cash. Anyway, once parked, we made it to the entrance. For some reason, on their website, you can't buy tickets in advance. But, you'll have no problem buying tickets when you get to the venue. I think they take card or cash. Just bring both forms of money for flexibility. I gotta say this venue has been decorated very well. I mean, I felt like I was in ancient China. They had smaller scale versions of the temples with Emperors, Empresses, and their royal court; smaller version of the terra-cotta warriors in Xian; a portion of the venue that mimicked the Great Wall of China; several statues of armored Chinese soldiers; etc. Well, you get the picture. They also have a souvenir and garment stall. If you want a panda teddy bear or a traditional Chinese dress to bring home, they have it here. I'm not sure how much they charge, though. I think you can probably navigate through this venue in a couple of hours. But, most people stay for the live performances. The only downside was their performances were delayed on the schedule. However, I did enjoy the Dragon dances. I loved all the different colored dragons. Don't forget to feed them some money for their performance. After this, the Kungfu show was just ok. It was kind of underwhelming. Other than that, you can also purchase a ride on the rickshaws here. I didn't do it this time. But, it looked fun. The food here was quite limited. I just got lemonade and water to drink here. The lemonade was too sweet. For a slightly sweet snack, I did get a bubble waffle. It was not bad. It just wasn't as light or airy as the bubble waffles I used to eat in Hong Kong. Overall, I'd recommend coming for the experience and getting a taste of the Chinese culture. Come here early to get a good parking spot in the Lucky Land lot.

Personally, I love this place. I went here today for the Lunar New Year celebration so it was a special day. During my visit I felt like $10 is a bit much especially since we have to pay for parking. But then I remembered that we pay way more for things like Candytopia and Color Factory. They are similar in the aspect of these places are made mostly to take pictures. There are a ton of photo opportunities here. We spent maybe two hours alone just taking pictures in the various scenes they had to offer. I'm very happy with the place. Everyone is very welcoming and they educated us on Chinese culture and the Lunar New Year. The host made a joke that we don't need to visit China since there's a mini China here. It's pretty and interactive. And the pictures came out really nice for me! I really can't complain about my experience here. Luckily, because it's cold the place was pretty empty. So for the Lion Dance we had a very clear view. There's a lot of parking and it's $2 to park. They only had one food truck and snack places by the souvenirs. I would suggest to eat in advance so you can stay longer. I saw a friend who came to the event last week so my plans were only to take pictures and see the show anyway. I would highly suggest following them on their Facebook page to see everything this place is about.

Fun place to bring the kids and enjoy been to Houston many times and didn't even know this existed. You have a variety of flea markets right next door as well and this location is more of a sigh to see they have Asian themed village with many statues and information. $10 per person and you also have a chance to get a ride on a rickshaw with was pretty cool.

How can anybody not like anything for free until January 17th? This is something pretty different in which it is a Chinese themed park where you walk around, shoot lots of pictures, look at the interesting statues that they have up and order foods from one of the concession stands. There are at Asian themed tables that they have spread around as park type bench and tables in their own little huts. Parking is of the dirt type so if it rains, expect for a little muddiness or very dusty on a hot summer day. There is room for about 100 cars. I would say this size this venue is about two football fields ever take a few square feet. It does not look like much from the outside until you walk in and see how they have everything laid out. You will see lots of statues, little Bridges, a good 25' by 30' terra cotta Soldier display to the left which stand each about two fee high. I would say there are around 10 to 12 little themed areas in their own uniqueness here. I have gone through the Liberty to post about 150 pictures for you to sample so that you can clearly understand what I am speaking of. I believe the opening times are from Tuesday through Sunday 9 o'clock in the morning until 6 o'clock in the evening but things may change. when they start charging after January 17th adult will be $10 and the kids I believe it will be 5 or $7. This is really a unique venue that is Asian themed finally on our side of town, the north side, which I hop that you would enjoy and that they also may prosper and grow. You know Little Mexico flea market that is very hard to pass by on the weekends? It is located butted on the southside of them. If you are unlucky and come down Gulfbank, take a right and it will be on your right hand side but be prepared for a lot of traffic because of the flea market. You'll probably have much less of a headache if you come down Little York until you hit Airline take a left and then ventured down until you see it on your right. Note: Those Terracotta soldiers look familiar don't they? The owners here bought the terracotta's off of the ones that you probably saw in the Katy area years ago. This is the year of the chicken, Happy New Years.

For the price, you can have a unique and fun afternoon. That's really all you can ask for. Would I go again? Maybe, maybe not. But it's definitely worth going once.

Wow!!! This place is really breathtaking. I found this Festival online and just decided to go on a whim. And it was so worth it! I went in here not knowing what to expect and I was so pleasantly surprised. It is something that I have never seen before. This place is so big and so colorfully bright. You feel like you're in another world! Today there was a festival for the Chinese New Year celebrating the year of the pig. They had Dragon dances and lion dances.. it was such a cool experience. They actually have this every year and I just found out that lucky land is one of the most visited places for the festival. Is see why! I really would recommend anyone go and see this place.. it isn't in the nicest area but don't let that prohibit you from visiting!!! You learn a lot of Chinese history and get to see a lot of amazing Asian culture. Go!! You wont regret it!

Wow what a great find in Houston! I took my kids on weekday around 11AM and there was NO ONE THERE! Literally had the place to ourselves. Thank God for Google Maps because I would have never found this place. So much to do and see you can easily spend over an hour here with the kids. It's like a small interactive cultural museum! When we went it was cold that day so we would've stayed longer but my daughter was getting irritable with the weather. I loved all the different displays so many picture worthy scenes and sets. My only gripe is I wish they had displays at each exhibit that talked about more in depth the history of China and the customs. I wanted to my kids to learn more about the culture however they still had fun running around looking at the different exhibits and taking everything in. A definite visit for kids/families in the Houston area!

The cut-outs were fun for taking pictures.

This is a fun place to kill an hour. Don't expect to spend all day here, but it will entertain you for an hour or so. It costs $10 to get in which seems a little expensive. You can walk around and see all of the different displays. Everything has to do with China, and it ranges from models of villages to over-sized panda statues. I enjoyed feeding the fish. If you get hungry they have a bunch of different restaurants just outside the entrance. You don't have to pay the entry fee to eat at one of the restaurants. This place is not going to blow you away, but if can definitely be a light-hearted way to spend a bit of your afternoon.

Highly highly recommended this place! It's so beautifully done and totally worth the $10! So may amazing photo ops and just a beautiful scenery to be around. The weekdays are slow and don't have food but it was still worth it. It would have been nice to have more history plaques and more entertainment but I also understand how slow the weekdays are. It made it great for having photos without people tho. It's a great place for adults and kids and would definitely return whenever I am in town again on a busy day to see the difference. This is a hidden gem! Wish I would've known about it when I lived in Houston.

    The Great Wall of China

Went on a Thursday at 1pm it was practically empty. No parking fee. $10 for my ticket $5 for my kids all under 12. We've been to many selfie and pictures places, which is what lucky land feels like. However for the price it's worth it. If you have been to any selfie exhibit/museum/mall. They're a bit pricey so this was a great price and offered many areas for pics. My kids enjoyed being able to interact with many of the items and the staff there was awesome offering to take our pics and they took a lot. The ladies at the booth asked us if we had seen so and so area before we left to ensure we got a great experience. They were so kind. I would say to eat before you go because we did spend about 2 hours enjoying the different set ups they had. They do have a souvenir and snack shop and tables which we sat and ate Ice cream at. Overall the kids enjoyed it.

Pretty little place to visit. Went on a Friday morning and it was dead! We were the only people there. None of the small trinket shops were open, nor was the bubble tea shop which we were looking forward to. It was interesting to look at, and take pictures of, but I wish there were more signs explaining what we were looking at. From the sounds of the other reviews I think maybe going on a Saturday or Sunday would be better, plus the flea markets in the area are open then as well. Not sure it was worth the $10 admission fee.

I saw this gem on good ole Groupon for approximately $88 for four tickets and immediately felt led to purchase them (great decision). The staff here were all skilled and talented, who exuded the skill set of captivating an audience with ease. Every performance was jaw dropping and very engaging. Needless to say, the kids AND adults all had a grand time. Whenever this event comes around again, I would recommend that everyone go see it... I am definitely a fan!

Formerly known as Circo Hermanos Vazquez, it's still a family-run business today. Today, the circus is constantly implementing new ideas and improvements--including state-of-the-art technologies and lightning--but they don't forget their roots. This show is filled with thrilling acrobatics, imaginative dance, impressive stunts, hilarious clowns, and even more. While at the circus, you will find classic circus vendor items available for purchase such as popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, funnel cakes, churros, snow cones, and more. I took the Things to the circus this year (at the ATX location, Barton Creek), and we were thrilled by the comedy, acrobatics, and stunts. We also appreciated that the show was in both English and Spanish (way to be inclusive)! There wasn't a bad seat in the house, so no matter what tickets you buy for this show, you will be able to see all the action. This is a show for all ages and if in town, this is a must-see!

I turned to them and said, "Guys, this is my new hobby," to which they responded, "Yeah, right, John, sure." Well, I showed them. That weekend, upon returning home to Houston, I noticed a friend had invited me to a circus show she was in at Discovery Green. I didn't really know what I was looking at at the time, but it was cool enough that I asked her how I could join. A year later, I'm totally hooked. I take classes at three different studios these days. I like each of them for different reasons, but Cirque La Vie is my favorite. For one thing, CLV is -- to my knowledge -- the only circus troupe in Houston which also offers classes (or, on the flip-side, the only place offering classes which is also a circus troupe). As a result, it feels the most like a family. CLV's also got the most range of skills. While other studios in Houston only deal with aerial arts, CLV has jugglers, acrobats, stilt-walkers, contortionists, flow artists, and so on. There's even an apparatus for practicing tightrope, and talk of getting a trampoline. The biggest downside to CLV is probably the current lack of options for higher-level aerialists to take classes -- most likely a consequence of the limited space with which they struggled until their recent move. At the time of this writing, CLV only has level-one classes for aerials; but its teachers do offer private lessons, and they're worth it.
