The story follows Rachel Watson, a woman battling dependency and fragmented memories as she becomes entangled in the disappearance of a young woman. It is interesting that I did not like the movie, but I loved this stage production. Easy to follow the story line that kept you on the edge of your seat. Loved the set design and our orchestra seats gave the best view. So interesting to see how they raised and lowered elements and created the illusion of a moving train. New location for Riot! The cool thing about the location is they have their own coffee shop and bar and a few sitting areas so you can hang out before the show. The coffee shop also offer pastries and is open from 7 am! As far as the comedy part itself, we've been to a Monday open mic night - which I didn't expect to be great but we wanted to do something a little different for date night. The employees are nice and they even warned us that the talent might not be the best, but we still had a good time. The stage is nice and well lit and the seating areas all have good views of the stage. Overall I think its a nice addition to the neighborhood - something to do other than eating and drinking. Hopefully they bring in some good acts pretty soon!

OH! So you want to check out the opera but don't have have Rockefeller money?…read more Well Opera in the Heights is your answer. I came for the last showing of Pearl Fishers, which is a traditional French Opera. We got middle balcony seats using a student discount for 10 bucks a ticket. That's a steal! The production value was great, one non changing stage, costumes remained constant also, but they were very colorful and appeasing to the eyes. The plot could been a little bit better planned and acting was eh, but the singing was superb. It's a small space so basically every seat in the house is a good view. I like the smaller intimate theaters because you feel like you are part of the show, especially when some of the singers walk up the aisles onto the stage. If $10 is too much to "TRY" out the opera, they offer a free dress rehearsal where you can can take pictures!!! I will be back for another show.

Because it was a kids' production, I wanted to be kind--and honestly, I'm surprised the Director doesn't teach the kids to have a better audience presence. It was very loud with lots of yelling at the end; I agree with cheering and supporting, but there's a noise level they should respect. In addition, the constant eating during the performance seemed unnecessary and was very distracting to other viewers. I will say, the very small venue made it feel cozy and safe, which was nice. However, the lobby area is pretty bare-bones, and it didn't leave me eager to rush back and plan another visit right away. It definitely seems like a spot mostly frequented by parents, grandparents, and family members supporting the young performers. If you park in the garage attached to the theatre, it is validated inside the building. Without validating your ticket, you will pay $5.
