It's close to Costco and H-Mart, and near H-Mart you'll also find Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours. There's an 85°C nearby as well and with Costco right next door, you could easily spend half a day hopping between all these places. On weekends, traffic can be pretty crazy and parking isn't easy since everyone shops then. However, if you come on a weekday especially outside of lunchtime--it's much easier to find a parking spot. Inside 99 Ranch, there's a food court with options like San dong noodles, dim sum, stir-fry dishes, and Chinese barbecue. On the other side of the plaza, there are also several restaurants, including Korean spots and Vietnamese crawfish places. As for the store itself, there are always clearance items near the Kung Fu Tea area, which we usually check out before heading in to shop for fruits, produce, vegetables--pretty much everything. I found my favorite Japanese soy milk but this was banana flavored. Way too sweet for me and it was $4/carton. It's a large store and they offer a loyalty program. If it's your first time visiting 99 Ranch, you could easily spend an hour just roaming the aisles. There's so much to see--it almost feels like a little field trip every time we go.

I went late in the afternoon on the hunt for a mini croc bag but they didn't have them. I was able to get a fruit bowl, a large pizza (very good and cheap) and a skirt that cost a whopping 2.49. I also bought some chocolate bars that the group has raved about and my son and I baked the pizza. They have some of the best items at good prices. Even their meat selections and frozen food sections are good. I have my quarter handy to get a shopping cart and my recycle bags because they do not give you a bag.

They have very good store brands and numerous name brands. Great return policy, when (rarely) needed. You'll need a quarter for a cart, but you get it back when you return it. That way there aren't carts all beaten up or out in the lot. There is some compromise, but Aldi has been my go-to for years.

Aldi is a little tricky for those who might not be aware of their concept. They do charge a…read morerefundable fee of 25cent for using a cart. Basically, you insert a quarter, and the cart unlocks and you have access to using a cart. Then once you're done with shopping and paid for, you return the cart back and lock it, and your quarter comes back out. They also do not provide shopping bags. You can purchase them for like 6c plastic and I think 11c for paper. While their prices are very economical, a lot of their products are generic brand, as in their own brand. So while they might be advertising great savings compared to Kroger or Wal Mart, they are using their own generic brands to compare. I am good either way. They have great sales on fruits, vegetables, eggs, milk and other dairy items. Also meat is usually on sale and they every week they showcase a few vegetable/fruit super sale. They do carry a wide range of products. As far as the negatives, they only have one and sometimes 2 lanes open and thus the lines are long at the cash registers. Plus they only accept cash and debit cards. Absolutely no credit cards, so please be aware of that. I usually have not indulged in any conversations with the cashiers, nor have I received friendly smiley gratitude, but its OK. I try to just grab my necessities and get the heck out of there. After you pay, there is this shelving station with usually empty boxes, where customers can stack their groceries, in the event if they don't buy shopping bags. Just an FYI.

The store was clean and well organized. They had plenty of stock on some popular items with my group. Found the chocolate chip cookies, the chocolate candy bars with almonds and bought more sweet cantaloupe. Also found some street tacos that really came in handy for a quick dinner tonight. I bought some Mediterranean dressing and tomatoes and cucumbers to try. They had some other items that are popular in the group and I was happy to see a well stocked store. This location is on the way home for me and I will definitely put on my list to swing by from time to time. Checkout was fast and efficient.
