All the bricks were pulled up and the highest standards used to reset and set brick. A cement curbing under the brick not only secured brick but provided a means for directing run off water. The brick was also power washed. (Unfortunately, other remodeling elsewhere created dust and dirt on brick afterwards but that will be hosed off.)

See the before pictures for the chimney, I don't have one handy for the steps, but the mortar was missing from between a lot of the bricks, and the limestone slabs were wobbly and not adhered to the step anymore. Chris responded to the request quickly and came out for an assessment, providing estimates both for a repair and a full rebuild of the front steps, and a repair of the chimney. Both very reasonable and in line with estimates from other businesses. We spoke last Friday, Chris had the formal contracts to me by Sunday, and the team was here first thing Tuesday morning working on the steps. They worked quickly but thoroughly, and were on to the work on the chimney by mid-day Wednesday. Once they were up there, they noticed some issues that weren't visible from the ground view, and Chris walked me through it with the photos and quickly got a revised estimate for what it would look like to do a rebuild of the chimney versus the repair, while also indicating that they COULD still do just the repair, but recommended rebuilding, since he knew we'd be looking to also redo the roof soon. They managed to do the full take down of the chimney to just a few bricks below the roof line and rebuild it back up by the end of the day Thursday, and came back Friday just to install the rain cap and clean up the the materials from the demolished chimney and stairs. Our new steps and chimney look great, and I'll definitely be keeping Kings' contact on file for paving/masonry/foundation work we might need in the future!

After much planning, we were so excited to build the kitchen addition of my dreams. A year later, I had a newborn baby (9/2016) and found myself about 6 months away from the job being finished. It was just too stressful and we had to part ways from our contractor. Our biggest challenge in our project was the floor that we planned to install for our entire first floor. It was a mess! It was a heated slab floor, complete with slate tile that couldn't come up, half plywood subfloor, and uneven spots galore. We met with about 5 flooring contractors, and we were searching for an expert. Someone who knew about glue, and nail down applications. Someone who knew about radiant heat slabs. Someone who knew whether or not we should put the floor or the cabinets down first. We were skeptical and our trust had been broken after working with our previous contractor. ProSource hardwoord dealers in Canton, MA told us that before we choose a hardwood, we had to call their installer, Elite Installations. The girl on the phone was so enthusiastic telling me, "When you call, Andrea will pick up. You will love her." Boy, was she right! Andrea talked to me about not just the floor installation, but about being a mom and about the challenges of owning a house that needs work. She is so positive and upbeat. We chatted for a very long time during our first phone call. Just like another customer wrote, it was like I'd known her my whole life. She sent Jerry over within days, and he is SUCH an expert. He is extremely professional, knowledgable, and takes planning conversations very seriously. He wants to know EXACTLY what you want done, and he clearly is one to be extremely thorough. Both Andrea and Jerry give you the feeling that they are going to be pickier than than the most picky customer - and that is a great feeling. Jerry came to our house more than once to discuss the upcoming floor install. It was great to have so many in person conversations with our installer. The Elite Installation team showed up on time, finished the project within the expected amount of time, and did a more amazing job that I could have ever imagined. They cut the floor so perfect around the already-installed cabinetry, that it looks as if the cabinets were placed right on top of an already installed floor. The workmanship is amazing. If you are thinking of installing any kind of floor, tile, or rug...Andrea and Jerry and the Elite Team are your best bet in the greater Boston area.

The project fell significantly behind schedule. There were weeks when workers showed up only two or three days, and sometimes not at all. Despite the lack of progress, we were aggressively pressed for payments each week. Eventually, we found ourselves having paid far more than the amount of work that had actually been completed. Then, one day, they said they were not working on the project anymore and never finished the renovation. We are still left without the renovated porch and eat-in area we our out a substantial amount of money, and dealing with poor craftsmanship on portions of the work that were completed. We ultimately had to hire an attorney in an effort to resolve the situation, and our attorney's attempts to communicate with them were ignored. So I'm taking to social media to share my story so it doesn't continue to happen. This has been an incredibly frustrating and expensive experience for our family. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring Elite. I wish we had known before hiring them what we know now. Run far away

One potentially life threatening issue was that there were live wires in the outside hvac electrical box that were not capped or connected. In addition, there were 10-12 other wires that were left uncapped at the main panel. This is a serious issue that potentially could have not only caused a fire but could have electrocuted my children or myself if I did not hire an electrician to inspect why the mini split did not work. The home was sold under the assumption that the mini split system was running; however, when I went to use it recently, it was not connected. According to my electrician, there are multiple electrical issues and he does not think an inspector would have signed off on this or that a permit was pulled. Another ongoing issue has been the plumbing. According to the plumber and a drain specialist that I hired, there are multiple issues with the plumbing that were not properly taken care of during construction. I have had serious drainage issues and have had to pay both of these contractors to remedy issues that were overlooked by your company and/or your subcontractors. Both agree that shortcuts were taken during construction and the plumber did not address the drainage piping correctly. Nobody can understand why a sewage grinder pump was installed for the downstairs bathroom when there is a gravity drain about six feet away. Most municipalities require gravity drainage to be used unless it is not possible. This may be part of the ongoing issue with the drainage. Plumbing was something that almost set back my closing date so it is apparent there was an issue that everyone knew about. In my "finished basement" I already have water and mold. This area is my bedroom. I am distraught over the lack attention and detail Mr. Donaldson so vehemently ignored. Mr. Donaldson agreed to come to my home to see the issues, had me wait all day and never showed. He scheduled a second time, and again was too busy. I am completely disheartened with his business and lack of etiquette when it comes to scheduling.
