I gravitate towards not leaving poor reviews but today's experience at Hatch was worth commenting…read moreon... and I hope it leads to change... We showed up for brunch... yes it was Mothers Day so we weren't expecting top service as restaurants are slammed on such days... HOWEVER... we never received water even after asking for it several times We were served ice cold coffee twice and tepid coffee once We never received silverware... I had to go to the counter and ask Every table around us went through 2 rounds of guests before we received our food... but my order never did come and the other orders were insufficient in some way. Other servers were competent and able to serve their guests well... ours did not seem to care either way If we had what we needed or ordered or not. She didn't seem overwhelmed as much as she seemed absolutely indifferent to her customers... and I think she recognized how she had dropped the ball for a solid 90 minutes because ... By the time we were leaving, we asked for a to go container and after another long wait, our server never came back... someone else brought the container.... She lightly acknowledged the mess our brunch was and my meal ( that never came) was removed. I wish I would have asked for a reduced bill but I paid it and although the food we did receive was good, the experience and how it was not handled left me and my party of 6 deciding Hatch will not be visited again For $120, I did expect some sort of service or at least the offering of an apology.

We really only come here because my brother and his wife like it and they live out here…read more That is only to say it is a little trek for us from midtown and it often costs us a toll. Oops! I recommend getting a reservation, especially at dinner time. We like to go right before the sun goes down because everyone claps, ring bells and cheer for another day gone! It is a good time. :) The food and drinks are good. What you would expect from a fast casual restaurant. My boyfriend likes the Smokey old fashion. It is a whole thing also with a lid on it at serving and then a bunch of smoke rises from the glass. It's fun. The servers are all kind and it is clean inside. You do have a view of the river which is nice.

First timer... Let's dig in - The jalapeño cornbread…read morestarted things off with a kick! 10/10 Warm, comforting and full of flavor. For my starter I ordered "Our Nice Little Salad" this beauty was crisp, fresh, and had tomatoes that popped in your mouth and bursted with flavor. The in-house croutons had that perfect buttery crunch, spiced pecans added a unique boldness and the homemade ranch was thick and creamy. I will say I had to ask three times for ranch. I just kept waiting. For our main courses we had the bone-in pork chop. Thick, juicy, and properly rested paired with red mashed potatoes.... Which were very good. The seasonal corn - was gone so quick! It was just so delicious. Ate that right up!! The shrimp scampi leaned heavily into garlic and butter in the best possible way. Shrimp were big, tender and juicy. Unfortunately my rotisserie chicken.... was very dry. I kept choking because of that. I was unable to eat it, that was disappointing. As far as atmosphere... very warm lighting, intimate feels, candle lit, steady energy, attentive staff. The dining room hums with laughter and happy customers... but without overtaking the conversation at our table. The volume was comfortable considering it was a full house.

You know when you kind of love a place so much you almost don't want the whole world to find out…read moreabout it? That was this place for me. I had noticed it before when visiting the Christmas Chute, but the reviews were a little mixed so we never gave it a try. Fast forward to this weekend when we got invited to a birthday at the speakeasy upstairs... and I'm so glad we finally went. First of all -- they're doing a great job with the speakeasy concept because I genuinely had no idea it was there. It's upstairs above the restaurant and you need a code word to get in. Since we were already there, we decided to have dinner first and the menu honestly surprised me in the best way. It's very much Southern comfort food, but elevated a bit. The vibe inside is eclectic and interesting. The staff was super friendly, and even on a Saturday night it wasn't overly busy. The new streets in Sapulpa look great now that the construction is finished, but because most of the parking is behind the buildings the street can look like a ghost town even when places are actually busy. Kind of a weird illusion. They start you off with bread and a trio of fresh butters which was unexpected and delicious. The bread itself wasn't anything fancy, but the butter definitely was. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered from the kids menu (which I very much appreciated did not say "12 and under"). I got a grilled cheese and the waitress suggested adding a cup of tomato bisque. Yes please. Both were excellent. My husband ordered the grilled chicken and said it was moist and really good. They also have a full bar and a huge coffee bar, which I thought was a fun touch. Then we headed upstairs to the speakeasy and it's a whole different vibe up there. Very cool space. Also extremely eclectic. Think Tommy Bahama meets world traveler's curio cabinet. There were travel finds from around the world displayed in cases, parrot chandeliers, a baby grand piano, and a cheetah print pool table. It somehow all works. Live music was by Steve Lindell and he was fantastic. Two thumbs up. Bar service was great, just a little slow -- but to be fair I don't think they were expecting a 40-person birthday group to roll in all at once. All in all it was a fantastic night. If it wasn't about 45 minutes from my house, we would probably be regulars. But maybe it's okay if it stays just a little bit of a hidden gem.
