A bit Pricey but in today's economy- what isn't !…read more I took my granddaughter shopping for her 13th birthday, and we spent over an hour in the store trying on clothes. During that entire time, not one employee acknowledged us or offered help while we searched for sizes and colors. At checkout, things got worse. After I paid in cash, the cashier handed me my bills and change all in one hand and said, "We don't have any pennies, is that okay?" She never explained what I was agreeing to. I couldn't tell if I was given more or less than expected because everything was handed to me at once, and she was very vague. When I asked for clarification, she eventually said they couldn't give me the exact change because "they don't make pennies anymore." That explanation made no sense. Whether or not pennies are still being produced has nothing to do with a current transaction--there are still plenty in circulation. The issue wasn't the penny--it was the assumption. She didn't ask if I had exact change, didn't ask if I had pennies, and didn't explain upfront that I was being shorted. She just decided it was acceptable. I remained calm, polite, and spoke in a softer tone than usual because I didn't want to make a scene. But I did explain that it's rude to assume a customer doesn't want their change, no matter how small the amount. Another employee overheard and asked what was going on. The cashier responded, "She's complaining because I didn't have one penny." That completely misrepresented the situation. The second employee replied, "Well, they don't make them anymore, so what do you want us to do?"--which only made things worse. I even pointed out that I had pennies on me, reinforcing that this wasn't the customer's problem to solve. If anything, a business should round in favor of the customer--not against them. The cashier argued that giving me more would make her drawer short, which again shows a lack of understanding of basic customer service. At one point, the second employee disengaged entirely and turned away with a smirk, which was incredibly unprofessional. Eventually, a third employee (who appeared to be a manager) stepped in and said, "Just give her a nickel"--which is exactly what I suggested from the beginning. At that point, it wasn't even about the money anymore--it was about how the situation was handled from start to finish. Also worth noting: if the situation were reversed and I was short a penny, I highly doubt they would have said, "That's fine, they don't make them anymore." I would have been expected to come up with the difference. We left without taking the nickel, but the experience left a lasting impression. For the prices they charge ($45 for shorts, $35 for a tank top), I expect far better service and professionalism. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Much rather spend my money at Lululemon and get SUPERB service.

I walked in and within seconds I had a tank top, pair of pants, and a mini skirt in hand. The prices were very affordable, more than say H&M but less than say.. Macys. The style is a combo of street style and club style.. Maybe? They also have loungewear and it looked SO FREAKIN COMFY! I loved all the racer type gear and several of the jackets they had. They also have accessories like jewelry, hats, etc. In the end, I walked out with a pleather mini skirt with a slit. Super Cute, about $50. The staff was super friendly, assisting me in the dressing room and getting me new sizes when needed. Also when checking me out. They have a loyalty program that's free and gets you 10% off your first purchase. There is no doubt that I'll be back here and I'm excited to come outside of the holidays when I won't feel as guilty buying stuff for myself.

I have to give props to the customer service being great for the first time being in the store. They were very helpful in explaining the layout of the store. They showed me where the casual work attire was and everything else. The second thing I would like to give them props for is giving me 20% off since my coupon was $10 off and they wanted to be extra nice to impress me for my first experience in the store. Although it was a bit of a drive for me, I don't foresee coming back often since I like stores that are in closer proximity to where I live. It was just a nice one time experience to see the store and what they have in it.

A friend of mine purchased this pretty dress for my daughter in 2 sizes. I kept the size that fit and tried to return the one that was too big. On December 30th 2023 I was shopping with family in Polaris and said what the heck let's give another go. This time I can honestly say I had some of the best customer service I've had in a long while. Every single employee that I engage with was super nice and very professional. Not to mention that the deals that were going on in the store at the time I was there were amazing I appreciate a good deal. It wouldn't have been fair to the establishment to write them off based off one distasteful interaction I had. The Customer Service alone is the reason why I decided to do another review and give a five star rating.

The salesperson was super nice and patient with me (I'd literally never bought trousers from Torrid before), and then left me alone to try on the things I picked up, which is basically my perfect shopping experience. The store is getting up there in age a bit, I'm guessing... it could use a paint job and the sales rack is always slightly messy, but in the grand scheme of things, that's really not a problem. In that time, I have gotten to know the brand really well. I can tell you from tons of experience that their clothing will go out of style long before it ever falls apart. The items are very well made and will hold up to everyday wear. This brand has done a lot for the plus size clothing industry. Torrid was one of the first brands to start making truly trendy clothing for plus size girls, for that reason, Torrid will always be my favorite clothing store. Upon entering a Torrid store location, you will be greeted by a sales associate who typically introduces themselves and asks if you need any assistance, etc. They will offer to start a fitting room for you. They'll then write your name on the door and begin hanging items in the fitting room for you. Some fitting rooms have fans with a control switch on the wall-this is awesome in the summer months. The staff really goes out of their way to make you feel like their customers are important. This location is one of my favorites. This store actually pays attention to their customers unlike the one on Sawmill Road where they look like they don't want to work there. When I came in they tried to help me find what fragrances I was looking for and it was actually at that store. So it was a win/win for both them and I. Whereas when I went an hour before to the Sawmill Road location, I couldn't get anyone to service me and no items that I saw online were available there. This location is closing at the end of this month for renovations but if I could move their employees to the Sawmill Road location it would be fantastic.
