I've been shopping at DSW for years, and overall it's still a solid place to find quality shoes…read morewith a wide selection. On my latest visit, I found exactly what I needed without too much hassle, which is always a win. That said, it feels like the discounts and deals that DSW was once known for have scaled back a bit. It used to be easier to find deeper markdowns or snag something under $50, but now you have to dig a little harder--and even then, the deals aren't quite what they used to be. The clearance section felt more picked over than usual, and the pricing structure can be a little confusing at times. Still, the store was clean, organized, and the staff was helpful. If you know what you're looking for and keep an eye out for rewards or promotions, you can still score a good deal--it just takes a bit more effort than it used to.

To preface, this review is not towards the Plainville store, as they have great customer service…read moreand friendly staff! However, I tried using a sale discount online about a month ago, but it excluded ASICS. I find it odd a shoe store would exclude a brand, but that's ok. ASICS are the most comfortable to me considering I have a heel spur, and one foot that had surgery. Just to offer my opinion to consider including ASICS, I sent a message to their customer service via email. The following day, I received a nice response from Yelena, acknowledging my inquiry and to please send them the pair I was interested in, along with my size and they would be happy to honor the sale. A few days later I replied along with a screenshot and the size. I reached out twice over the next couple of weeks and never received a response. I then sent a regular letter via mail requesting feedback. Zero response. I wasn't looking for exceptions to begin with, but why offer if you aren't going to back it up? I'm not sure how you simply ignore a customer, but that appears to have taken place here.

I went on a day where they were offering a discount on kids clothing (unmarked). I ended picking up (3) JoJo Siwa bows for less than the price of (2). The mall was dead compared to pre-covid so that helped with shorter checkout lines at JCP. I was able to find everything I was looking for and the cashiers were very helpful. I only wish that they better displayed the sale they were having on JoJo Bows. If I didnt happen to price check them I would of never known that they were on sale.

It is your classic Claire's - very bright and colorful, lots of cute earrings and accessories, and sales tucked all around the store. I personally don't care for the upselling at the register - I appreciate earrings are buy 3 get 3 free, but I only want one pair and why would I spend an extra $16+ just to get three free earrings I don't want to begin with? Oh cashiers of Claire's, please just accept the first no and don't try to explain it to me when I understand the math.
