YES... only if these two individuals are there to help. They didn't miss a beat, made pleasant conversation, helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I am an avid Torrid shopper. I frequent this location as well, as others and shop online. The…read moreservice of the McHenry location has been on the decline for years. I always have looked past it because I like the quality of the clothes. Today however I had an incident that may make me not return to the store or even support Torrid further. I am in the store and purchase an item. Then I ask the girl checking me out if they price match the online prices. At this point the sale is complete. She says they can but I would have had to do it before checking out. So I ask about exchanging the item for the lesser price. The manager comes over and says something about no they can't do that because of how the receipt runs in the system. So I left the store, I then turned and when back in to just return the item...I was told no, I can't return the item because their system won't have it processed for 24 hours. I left very frustrated. Number 1 that is the worst possible policy. So you mean to tell me if they made an error and rang something up twice and I catch it after I check out, they can't correct it for 24 hours? I find that hard to believe. Number 2 I called another store and was told the information I was given by the always unpleasant manager in McHenry was a LIE!! So needless to say, trying to scam your customers doesn't gain you any.

While my daughter and I were in shopping, I evidently set my phone down and lost track of it. A very helpful and kind hearted employee behind the other counter, who had the same kind of phone let me use her locator app to ping my phone. Upon pinging I discovered that it had been with the employees at the first counter after all. I am happy and relieved to say I have my phone back. Instead, my only options were to exchange the item or receive a gift card. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything else in the store that I liked, and the other items were significantly more expensive than my original purchase. As an out-of-town visitor, a gift card was useless to me, which the sales associate was aware of. This situation was handled poorly--when a product breaks right away, I should have been given a refund. Will not return.

Their answer is always, "We can order that for you". No, I don't want you to order me a $100 pair of shorts I don't know how they will fit on me because I was totally unable to try on because you have none in the store. It's an awful long process and I'm an instant gratification person. If I wanted to look at a picture of something and order it, I'd stay in the comfort of my own home and order all of my clothing online. P.S - The awful, country music you're BLARING in the store is hard to listen to. I cannot concentrate because the music is so loud. I can't stand inside the store more than 5 minutes before I feel compelled to run out the door. Which is why when you ask if I want to try something on, I'll say "no, I'll just buy it, try it on at home and bring it back if I don't like it."
