I park here monthly. I was choosing between the Masonic garage and this business. I decided to use this one because the service is personal and friendly. There are about 5 valets and they recognize you by face. (The Masonic also frustratingly does not prorate.) Call 15-20 min ahead and they'll have the car ready. read more

Went to park my car here. I hope that valets know how to drive a manual transmission. As soon as I left he was revving my engine like he was at a nascar event. When I returned this guy could barely walk down the stairs from the room and REAKED OF ALCOHOL. He said something I could barely understand. Got my vehicle back and could also smell my clutch was burning. He didn't give me my keys back but I found them later thrown under the seat. Unprofessional and dangerous to park here. read more

Are you going to a rave at Bill Graham? If you want your car back the same night don't fucking park here. We circled around forever to look for parking and finally found this garage that wasn't full. We told the attendant that we'd be back around 1AM and he said no problem. Even online it doesn't mention the garage closing early. We come back after our event to see the doors to the garage locked and closed. We bang on the door and no one answered. The tenants across the street informed us that this garage is notorious for scamming people with their hours. We had to uber home from SF to SJ and drive back the next day to get our car out of this hell hole. Not to mention you'll pay the hefty overnight parking fee :) Stay away. You've been warned. read more

Old First Parking Garage - Parking Near Me - San Francisco, California

It's over crowded with cars on top of each other. Staff were not friendly at all. You have to leave your car keys with them.

Worst experience I've ever had at a garage, I genuinely don't know how they're still in business. My friend left her car here and she got a notification from her car that her tire is losing air (after they took the car). We quickly came back and the moment we went to check on the tire the employee immediately told us "pay $25". He was being very rude when we were kindly asking to see the car. We were panicking and trying to find a place to get her tire fixed before it gets dark. We finally found a place at the end of the block that was closing in a few minutes and told the attendant we would be right back to pay. He ran after the car to the door and demanded that we come pay, even though we explained to him that the mechanic was closing and the tire was losing air every minute. He harassed us and didn't let us leave. When I went to pay, he tried charging me SIXTY DOLLARS. The sign outside had a MUCH lower flat rate, and why would you charge someone that much for parking for a few minutes! He scolded me and told me to find street parking next time. Extremely rude and disrespectful interaction. I recommend you read through the reviews before you use this place. Many have reported that their cars were handled recklessly or hit here. They also lie about their prices. read more

I would leave ZERO stars if I could. They overcharged compared to the posted price, we left our car there for FIVE MINUTES and came back to a flat tire. They tried to charge us $60!!! Avoid this garage at ALL costs, they harassed us when we tried to leave. They are CRAZY. read more

Sign says different price than what was charged and was very expensive, hard to communicate with the employees, and also stalled the car multiple times after refusing help. I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

Don't eyeball me like I'm the dumb girl and then try to charge me for parking that Brownie's Hardware already validated. After circling the block once (and it's a long circle if you empty out onto Van Ness with all the ongoing construction) I drove into Old First garage and let them know I was going into the hardware store for 20 minutes. When I returned, I handed them my ticket ("Here you go, Brownie's validated it") and they asked me twice to point out my car. It was only 20 feet away, I pointed to it, sitting there, idle, set aside from other cars. Seriously, was he next going to make me match my license with the registration in my glove box? Then he told me "It's $3" and I enunciated nastily, "And it's val-i-dated- like I told you" [eye-roll] Unless it's raining and I've circled twice, I'll avoid this garage; they're sketchy. read more

Not very cheap for under 1 hour. I was charged $16.00 even though the sign says $4-6 for 30 min. I was too busy to argue about it, but won't be very likely to use them again. read more

Amazing fast and courteous service is the mantra here....everybody in the garage is the best in the business the feeling of Security that your vehicle is in the best of hands. I lived in the neighborhood for five years a decade ago and when I decided to move back to SF, I checked on the garage BEFORE I looked for a place to live! I can drop the van off and go home and sleep like a baby, secure that no one moves into my van on the street at night. I recommend the garage wholeheartedly read more

I was heading to a restaurant for Mothers day with my daughter and since I'm not familiar with SF I opted to park in a parking garage near by the restaurant. I had no clue where the restaurant was so I asked the attendant if he knew. He wasn't sure and Google it for me. I thought that was extremely nice of him. He then explained how to find the restaurant. Upon retrieving my car, I saw the same attendant and he checked me out very fast. He was very friendly and helpful. Parking wasn't very expensive considering it's SF. I would park my car here again when in this area. read more

DO NOT PARK IN THIS GARAGE! An employee by the name of Alex has some SERIOUS anger issues and harassed us. He was extremely rude and raised his voice at us. That's not any way to treat someone, let alone a potential customer. Terrible experience, do not waste your money here. read more

My parents park here every-time they come to visit me. They leave the car here for up to 4 days. Employees have always been friendly and wear masks. The car is always returned in the same condition. My car battery died early in the morning before this garage opened. I was parked in a spot just before the garage. I had to call a tow and it arrived shortly after the garage opened. Within 3 minutes of the tow arriving, the owners came out and yelled at the tow truck driver to move as he was blocking the entrance - this was obviously the only place he could park. They continued to harass him, so I yelled back to make it clear my battery died and we would eventually move once my car was on the truck. Do not give this company any money. read more

I hesitated to go here because of the low ratings but then I found that, when I sorted them by date, all the recent ratings were great and the bad ones were 3+ years ago. I have to add my review to the "great" category because it couldn't have been better...two friendly, smiling guys hurried up as we drove in, we handed them the key, and we were walking away for our night on the town in one minute. A few minutes later I realized I'd left my phone in the car and came back and they were very nice about my retrieving it--the car was only about 50 feet away. At the end of the evening, they were equally nice, letting me use their restroom and having our car up and ready before I even finished. Couldn't be better. read more

I am so impressed with this garage, I am leaving another review. After parking here for nearly a year, the inevitable happened. My car got scraped when the attendant was parking it. 11 months of perfect driving, a mistake is bound to happen. They were amazing with how they handled this unfortunate situation. They notified me immediately (when I really could have gone months without noticing the scrape). They asked when they could take my car into the body shop, I told them next week I wouldn't need my car on X day. When I came back for my car, the scrape was fixed completely. I was not involved, I didn't need to take time off work to take my car in, I didn't need to pay anything, they took care of everything. I am so impressed with how they took responsibility and fixed the issue. They even checked my car for valuables before taking it to the body shop, and kept my valuables ($13 haha) safe until I came to get them. I trust this garage completely and highly recommend them. read more

Parked here one day while I was running late for work. I show up nine hours later to pick up my car, After 5 minutes of waiting for an attendant one shows up. He exited (what I assume) to be another patron's car. I handed him my ticket and waited for him to get the keys to my car. It takes him another 3-5 minutes of searching to ask for my help to find my keys. I had to pass a sign saying only employees were allowed past that point. Needless to say my keys were nowhere to be found. Then the other attendant appears out of nowhere and immediately knows which keys we were looking for. He pulls my keys out of some random spot and takes another 5-10 minutes to pull up my car up front. Once I get into my car I instantly smell weed! Then my car notifies me that the passenger side door was ajar. Why would my passenger side door be opened and my car smell like weed?! Both of the attendants had been smoking in my car and were too stupid to air it out and properly close the door! I just paid 15$ to search for my keys and have people smoke ILLEGAL substances in my car! This is ridiculous, Next time I'll be late for work and park in some random alley, At least then I'm not paying for a headache and half. read more

Wow people really hate on this garage. I think someone mentioned new owners and I think it's a good deal. There is a slightly cheaper ACE run parking garage down the street but it closes at Midnight on a Friday. That sucks. This one's open till 2am and for being there just over 3 hours it was $8. That's a pretty good deal. Credit Cards accepted and it is literally across the street from Acquerello if you're eating there which makes it super convenient. read more

I parked here because I had to, because I had no place else that I could find. As soon as I *DID* find a new place, I got my car out of there just as soon as I could. And it was still too late. At first, it seemed like a relatively good deal. I say 'relatively' since I'll never agree that $250/month in parking (and not 24 hr. at that) is acceptable. But, they opened early enough for me to get my car in the morning, even for an early flight, and closed late as well. The valet staff seemed kind and professional, always greeting me and getting my car in a timely manner, even when busy. "Seemed" is the key word. One evening, I gave my car to the valet for parking and when I returned in the morning, $1200 of camera equipment and a cell phone (in the box - it was specific to China) were missing. I immediately mentioned it to the morning valet workers (who legitimately had no knowledge of it) and got the managers name. It was beyond stupid of me to assume that these items would be ok in my back seat; when I confronted the evening valet employee, he feigned ignorance even though he had SPECIFICALLY asked if I needed to take them out the evening before. That should have been my warning sign...I've certainly learned a lesson. The items were never found; I called the police and they questioned the man at fault, but without evidence it was his word against mine. The policeman said he highly suspected the guilt (of which I'm confident) of the evening employee, but couldn't prove anything unfortunately. The manager, even upon hearing the complaint, seemed sympathetic but it was VERY difficult to get him on the phone and no apparent action was taken against the employee since he is still there. I hate to rate a business by one bad egg, but there IS one there (and he's still in employment!) so should you HAVE to park here for any reason (church, or otherwise), a word of warning: take EVERYTHING of value with you lest you suffer the same fate as me. read more

Not bad enough that you have to pay money to park your car, but grief and damage too? We'd park here every now and then (read - when we had to!) when we couldn't find a spot on the street late at night. Better than $40 for a DPT ticket. B* (girfriends mom) parked her car here to "avoid" damage. See she just had a new bumber attached - less than two weeks. It's logical that parking in a valet style garage would ward off damage right? Well they managed to scratched it within 4 hours - no joke. It was so ironic and sad that no action was taken or could be taken. Most of the people that work there know me. I lost my ticket the last time I parked there and ever will park there. Well they happened to lose the other half of my ticket - very odd coincidence but it did indeed happen. In turn, they tried to charge me for four days of parking because there was no record of entry. My fault that I lost my ticket sure, but they also lost their side. I was willing to pay for a full 24hrs or even 48hrs, but no, they wanted 96hrs of my money. Needless to say, I was not paying $80 for one night and they knew me well enough to realize I'm trying to pull a fast one - shoot i was even willing to pay an extra $20 to avoid conflict. Things escalated to a less than ideal situation and it really does take a lot to get me irate (a whole lot). Me: can I speak to the manager. He knows me and will sort this out. Mentally Challenged Attendant: He's not here. You pay $80 now Me: I don't want to argue, its Sunday and I just want to go have a nice day outside your garage. I am willing to pay an extra $20 since there is obviously a mix up. MCA: $80 or you don't get your car. tomorrow it's $100 now. Me: dude, come on you see me often enough. do i really need to chizzle you out of money? of course not. MCA: manager isn't here. then he proceeds to put my keys back in the office with spite and snicker. Me: call the manager right now. MCA: he's not here - no. Me: listen punk, get the bloody manager or take the extra $20 i shouldn't even have to pay. MCA: shuffles around looking busy. - co-worker comes back from getting doughnuts. Me: he man, this guy is a tool and i proceed to explain whats going on. Can you get the manager? Co-Worker: hrmm. yeah he's in the other office actually. Me: WHAT? he's right over there and this guy wouldn't get him - WTF. Manager: ohh hey. let's calm down. How about $30 - a fair compromise right? Me: sure that's rational and fair enough. About time someone with sense is involved. Me: hey punk - yeah you. Now we all know why you are 30+ and working at a parking garage. Don't we? I will never park here again while that guy is still working. In fact I may never regardless for hiring someone like that. If I was once again really young and without cares I probably would have bitch slapped the MCA. Yes it was that bad. read more

Do not trust the manager. Promised us one price and then changed it when we got there. Refused to call the night worker to confirm what he had told us. Held our car hostage until we paid them. The guy posting the rebuttal comment below is the guy who held our car hostage. I explained that the sign the night before was covered and said "special event pricing," but he didn't care. The guy the night before did tell us another price and they simply said the same thing as he says here - "doesn't matter, the price is the price. Pros: . It's convenient; they provide you with a physical place to park your car after you've driven in circles for a while only to realize how often they clean the streets in that Nob Hill/Pacific Highs area. . Their business hours work OK with most people's busy schedules. Cons: . The price. 20 bucks for overnight parking (most of the time just a few hours) is still less than a ticket but yet highly abusive. . The other morning they took 17 minutes to give me my car. 17 minutes! Did they park it at the Presidio or what!? Go there if it's your only option (and at your own risk...) read more

I parked my car here for a month when I first moved here before I got my street parking permit. They are very reliable and have your car sitting and waiting for you if you call ahead. We got Heisted. Our sub woofer was unscrewed and taking out along with 3 cases of drinks we had bought from costco. My favorite sports coat that was just dry cleaned. My friend and there kid's brand name jackets and her two sweaters were stolen within 10 hours in this garage. We went over there after they didn't return our call. We ask to speak to the manager and the guys there said that he left for the day and be back next Monday. After 10 mins. or so, I man came out and said he was the owner of the garage. If that wasn't bad enough I got in my car and noticed he had the emergency brake on while driving it! Don't use this place. The attendant quoted us one price at night, then when we came back in the morning they changed the price. CROOKS!

I completely do NOT trust this place My wife used to park here from time to time back when she lived in this 'hood, and while we initially thought they were ok, it was only a manner of time before we started noticing more and more dings and lots of surely attitude. The kicker was what we perceive was theft. Similar to the other poster, my wife parked her car here one evening with some things in the back seat but also items in the trunk (trunk!). Sure enough, stuff was stolen from both areas (not all of it, but definitely items). I tried talking to the manager / calling at all sorts of hours and never got through and always got a LOT of attitude and just blatant moves on their part to not help us out or answer any questions. read more

I really don't know what's up with all the bent reviews here but I'm guessing that most people aren't compelled to write positive comments about something so boring as a parking garage. Moved to Nob Hill a couple months ago and tried a couple different places. These guys had the best price (about $30 less than the going monthly rate) and are pretty friendly. So far, two months with no problems. Only thing is that sometimes you have to wait longer for your car than you'd like because they only have a couple guys working at any one time - so it's pretty easy for them to get bottlenecked if something is happening in the neighborhood. Hours of operation are good. Late Fridays and Saturdays. read more
