If you have not been to this barbershop and are considering it just for a simple, clean cut, give…read moreit a try. I've only been once, but as a first-time customer, who is pleased with the cut I received a week and a half later, I will return. (Do note that customization is a priority at this location, so be very specific about how you want your cut.) ****Explanation**** Since moving to New York (in particular, a rural area, I'd say) and since I attempted to give myself a Caesar cut (all even) to save some money, I decided to give Finest Barbers Shop a try. Within a ten-mile radius of Moriches (given the nearby Sam's, Pete's, and Fred's barbershops), I'd say they were the "blackest," if you will, barbershop I could find. However, please understand that I was just concerned about the quality of my haircut; their clientele when I went was quite diverse: I remember seeing a white father-son tandem, two black males (three, including myself), and five, I'd say, Hispanics (two men and a father with his two sons). **The Atmosphere** The atmosphere was relaxed. When I walked in, I expected some form of acknowledgment from a barber, but I only received one from an African brother getting his cut. (I thought, "I hope this is a 'New York' thing and not anxieties within subsets of the minority community.) No worries though. The older barbers (three, at the time) were more focused on their individual tasks: hopefully, giving each paying customer a decent cut. (Now that I think about it, I don't believe I would acknowledge anyone myself if I had to work on Labor Day.) ESPN was playing on one TV, and C-Span on the other. (Both TVs were later turned to C-Span, so everyone could tune into Obama's Labor Day speech.) Every man waiting to get a haircut respected the other's man space. Commotion only entered the shop when a woman came in with her two orbiting-out-of-control kids, and I think we all (her husband with the two kids who presumably took after his reserved direction included) bade her goodbye! (My girlfriend said she brought the commotion next door to the nail salon. There was one guy sitting next to me who felt the need to carry on with a phone conversation inside the barbershop, but that's about it.) The place livened up when the barber who cut my hair came in; and the barbers, though speaking in Spanish and me (with my Broken Spanish) understanding very little of the banter, developed a keener focus on Obama's speech--of which, I could care less about. (I just wanted my hair to be cut--and decently.) **The Cut** My barber, Pablo, gave me one of the best Caesar cuts I've ever had. In terms of length, it was even; and the shape-up was textbook (almost as though he used a level and ruler to deal with my oddly-shaped head). I felt rather lazy, so I opted for the full cut (head and beard, which is $20, by the way). He's pretty good with a razor. He understood what I meant when I said that I wanted to keep the stubble under my chin and have the whisker-like ends of my 'stache removed. My only gripe would be the length of my sideburns: one was at the bottom of my ear, whereas the other was just above the other. (Maybe one ear is lower than the other or something, I don't know.) However, Pablo gave me a solid foundation for the fro, which I'll have shaped up by him over time (or cut). We'll see. **Verdict (Again)** My girlfriend approved, and after living with the cut for about a week and a half I certainly approve.

If your looking for a Fresh cut!, look no further…read more I've been getting my hair cut at Finest barbershop for about 15 years now (since they opened) and I can't seem to find any or their local barbershops that give you quite the same experience. The cuts are great, obviously you start building a relationship with your barber so if you switch up barbers expect a different cut but not in a bad way, they all do good work. Regardless all the barbers I've had cut my hair have done a really good job. My personal two go to barbers are "Luis" and "Pablo". I usually get, Caesars or blow outs when I'm growing out my hair, they both take their time and really focus in on the cut. Not to mention it's always a good conversation to make the time go by. Overall it's a great place to get a haircut and look Fresh. I would definitely recommend Finest Barbershop to anyone looking for a good haircut. (City like cuts)

In 30 years I've only been to 4 shops including this one as I am pretty particular about my haircuts. Most barbershops that work off of a no appointment, waiting room basis has like 2 decent barbers that queue up a huge wait but this place is above average all around. I like that the barbers are up front and aren't just there to collect your cash if you need a difficult cut / unique style. I'm a skin fade guy and have gotten one of the best mo hawks from a barber here named "Sandy" but the other barbers were a bit nervous and defaulted me away, I'd prefer this then get my head jacked up. I've never had my head jacked up here in 2+ years and multiple chair sittings. I'm not a very talkative guy in the seat and don't need my barber to be my therapist or speak poorly in public about my neighbor Tim, and I feel like most of those guys respect that. Some interesting personalities in this place but everyone is pleasant to deal with and friendly above all. Some clown in a review below said they charge based on wearing a nice watch- the pricing and services are more then legibly laid out. I also, have worn a Cartier here but must of "missed out" on the price gouging. Coivd-19 has everyone scared but this place has been smart about it. Less waiting room chairs, encouragement to wait outside or in the parking lot, online appointments to be more efficient. Inside the place, everyone is being real with the masks and sanitizing. I had a had never seen or met the owner "Joshep" until tonight with a 05:30 PM (last customer of the day) tedious skin fade cut that was badly needed (I hadn't been back to this place since January 2020). He did a phenomenal job that reminded me that my unsteady hands never should've been playing self barber myself during quarantine for the past 7 months. I was instantly reminded at how great this place is... High recommend for anyone of all ages.

I saw Bob, he should be embarrassed with the poor quality of service and so should the owner. Bob should be working in a butcher shop not a barber shop. I am going to ask for a refund. Never again
