The prices are more than fair and the barbers seems to love what they do - offering advice and suggestions, yet respecting the client's wishes and needs. I was offered the hot towel treatment, but sadly declined as I knew I had errands to run. Overall, I'm glad to have found this place. They provided a great haircuts and a tight beard trim all for $25.00.

I don't want to pin point, but the one barber that is cross-eyed was very rude. Soon as I walked in, my gf spoke kindly and before she could tell him what I wanted, he cut her off. He asked why we stayed in the car for so long. (It was only 5 minutes) As she kept trying to speak, he cut her off and dropped his food he was eating abruptly, walked to his chair, and shook out the red barber blanket, then said "COME ON BUDDY!" As I am also lesbian as well as black, I felt very unwelcome. I left the establishment before any harm was done to my scalp, as well as myself. I also thought that maybe he had a slight hearing issue, but there was no politeness with this guy at all.

Being that there's literally 15 barber shops all within the same couple of miles on Middle Country Road between Centereach and Selden, we came upon this one right next door to where we were. We walked in and had to wait a few brief minutes, as other clients were ahead of us. It gave me time to get a feel for the overall essence of this place ....I was sold!!! My observations proved true even after walking out of the shop 45 minutes later!!! There was even an older woman waiting to get her haircut, and upon having small chat with her told me she's been coming to this barbershop for many years (speaking so highly of Lori). Again, all positive vibes! My immediate thoughts presented a very warm, clean, and welcoming barbershop/salon. When I saw a female barber cutting hair, I was like "this looks like it's going to be a great fit for my husband"..... When it was my husband's turn, Lori (owner) greeted us with such a friendly and warm demeanor. Introductions were made and the rest is barber shop history....lol She did a fabulous job on the little bit of hair my husband has left....LOL ! He joked about that with her as well.... We have now found a new barbershop.... If you want a really special place with excellent service (and great prices too) BARBERrenos in Selden is the place to visit! I'm so happy we found a new spot so quickly on the spur-of-a-moment, which fits perfectly into our lifestyle (and so close to home). Danny is the man, always does a great job and is a really nice guy that does his best to keep on time and get you in and out. Note: They raised their pricing to $25 (from $20) for a standard men's haircut late last year, so don't be surprised - seems to be the market rate for places around here. Parking stinks in Port Jeff overall, and the parking right outside on the main drag is only 30 minutes, and the meter maids are out in full effect during the nice weather months, so park there at your own risk.

They listened and offered suggestions and really had a good product at the end. Of the 4 people who had cuts before me, each one of them walked away satisfied with their cut.
