After what feels like several geological eras, multiple decades, and approximately a billion years of living in Arizona, I finally stopped at Diamond Point Shadow Steakhouse. Every single time I'd drive by, one of two things would happen: they were closed, or I was in time crunch to my next destination. It became one of those places that lived permanently on my Arizona bucket list. Well, bucket list item officially crossed off! The food was exceptional, the service was outstanding, and now I'm kicking myself for not making the stop years ago. Everything was well worth the wait...literally and figuratively. A word of advice: get there right when they open at 4:00 PM. We intentionally ate an early supper, and I'm glad we did because the place fills up fast. If you show up later, be prepared to wait. That said, after finally experiencing it for myself, I'd say it's worth the wait either way. Some things in life don't live up to the hype. Diamond Point Shadow Steakhouse does. The server decided to bring me some cherries (maraschino, not cocktail) to make up for it (thanks but not the issue) Next we ordered dinner with our salads and they were delivered to the opposite person. Which isn't a big deal but there are only 2 people at our table. Dinner was fine he ordered a ribeye w/rice pilaf and I ordered the Barramundi with rice pilaf. The fish was nice, I'd never had it before and the ribeye was ok, nothing spectacular. Then the complimentary Mother's Day Dessert choice I made was creme brûlée as it's my favorite. Well it wasn't the dessert they walked around the restaurant advertising, it was a tiny little cup but as the server said "at least it's free" And boom, here comes the bill....we were charged full price for the complimentary Mother's Day dessert. And, we didn't notice until after we had paid the bill. Now, mind you the server was tipped based on the check total. When it was brought to her attention she tells us that we can either have a restaurant credit, or return the whole bill and charge us again but the refund of the bill would take 3 days. We told her to just take care of us next time since we are new to the area and hope to have a better experience next time we visit.

He remarked he didn't like the botanicals they added to it. - Rack of Lamb (Special): Requested to be cooked on the rarer side, and it was perfection! My boyfriend let me try first bite, and I'm normally not a fan of lamb but this was decadent! Love the rosemary jus, and it was the best tasting lamb I've ever had! My boyfriend was over the moon, and as Gen Z says "no notes." - Pollo Marsala: Love the flavor of the Marsala wine in this as it was not subtle like some you get at other restaurants. Very rich flavor, and juicy chicken to pair with the pasta and veggies. Loved this dish and it was the catalyst for us making a reservation the next day. - Limoncello Cake: I was so full, but took one bite and it was very delicious. My boyfriend adores lemons and lemon items, and throughly enjoyed this. What We Ordered (Night Two): - Bruschetta: The night before we ordered Caprese, and we wanted to also try the bruschetta. It was decent, but much prefer the Caprese as you can put onto the bread they serve. In fairness, I usually choose the option that has cheese because cheese is amazing! - Clementine Spritz: Another dinner, another Clementine Spritz! - Limoncello Spritz: Our server and I were talking about how I'm in my spritz era and asked if she could make a limoncello one and she said yes. It was luscious, but I think the Clementine had a better flavor. - Fettuccine Bolognese: This was my boyfriend's dish, and he mentioned that it was no rack of lamb like the night before! He said the depth of flavor wasn't quite there, and perhaps the bolognese could simmer for longer to develop more flavor. - Prawn Pasta (Special): I was intrigued by this special and wanted to try a more pasta forward dish. The server mentioned red pepper flakes for some heat, but I didn't really taste it. Still overall, a good shrimp pasta dish. I'd go back to Pollo Marsala if we return in another trip. Both nights, we had excellent service. I loved that night one our waitress offered a breakfast recommendation that we tried the next day and loved. Our waitress and even the staff member who brought us bread recognized us when we returned the next night. What service!
