Part of my "big 3" coffee shops in Knoxville. Another lovely atmosphere within the shop, definitely a cool place to study at or work from. The "Autumn Miel" latte was nice and flavorful, the warm spices really brought out the flavor of the beans and the honey throughout the drink.

Cappuccino with pumpkin bread :)

Adorable coffee shop with pretty plants all around, I got a cappuccino which was good and a slice of pumpkin bread which was great! Service was good, she helped my friend get the closest she could to a PSL ( basic...lol) Side note they were very busy and it was kinda hard to snag a table! Maybe don't come at peak times if you want a table.

Carmel latte

We ordered a latte with caramel and one of their seasonal drinks (Winter Miel) and it was SO GOOD! 10/10. It actually tasted like coffee and not some watered down weak espresso. We also ordered a pumpkin loaf and croissant, both delicious. The coffee shop itself is super cute and I wish we could have stayed a little longer, but we were on our way back home to Texas from Gatlinburg where apparently good coffee doesn't exist. After a week of bad coffee it was so nice finding this place! The vibe and service were excellent as well. Would definitely come back again if we could!

Chai Latte

Quaint coffee shop with plenty of seats inside and out. My chai latte was perfecto. Slightly spicy and warm for this chilly day. Maybe next time I can stop in for a bakery item.

I fell in love with this place. I was greeted very kindly and warmly, and was able to look at the menu. It wasn't too large or overwhelming and they had more simple options. They had around 5 different flavor options, the ones you normally expect. They had a wide variety of different types of coffee and some really good looking pastries. My coffee was made quick for only one person working and it was pretty good! It was also quite affordable based on other independent coffee shops. I believe my latte with almond milk was $6.20 for about a 20 oz. I'm in love with the cozy atmosphere, they have a mini library, beautiful windows and a rustic feel. tables are plenty, but spaced well in a smaller place. There are two rooms, so different options. It's a very quiet coffee shop, great for conversation or study. overall, I will be back very soon!

Hot chai and croissant

This was such a cute little coffee shop in an old town building. I got the hot chai with caramel and vanilla and it was delicious! I also had their prosciutto and cheese croissant. I had my treats in their little outside area that had really cool graffiti that made for an even more fun coffee run. The baristas were also very nice and helpful.

Small and busy. But not in a bad way. Staff were so friendly and my drinks were made almost as soon as I ordered. I am not exaggerating when I tell you- this is the best mocha I have EVER had. Creamy and balanced. The matcha tonic was a new combination I have never seen. I love both and found it refreshing. If you like kombucha you will love it. The pastries are flaky, fresh and buttery. Very inclusive environment. 10/10 find on our way to the highway. Wish we had a chance to get it multiple times during our stay.

Enjoyed an early morning cup of Columbian coffee and a delicious cranberry oat scone on a brisk cold morning. The coffee shop was filled with chatter by young folks on their laptops and cellphones, all while enjoying their lattes, teas, specialty coffees and wonderful baked goods. Although, the items were filling and quite tasty, I found the prices to be expensive! There's a cozy patio area which could be enjoyed when the weather is nice. I took note of the staff's interaction with the customers and found them to be very friendly and accommodating with special requests. Their initiative to display excellent customer service is what will warrant a return visit.

This place is so cool!! Tucked away in a historic brick building this little coffee shop is a hidden gem! They have fresh pastries to choose from and are baked locally. Their coffee is really good. The inside vibes are really chill and have an old city charm. Great spot whether you're meeting a friend for coffee or need to work.

I was visiting Knoxville and saw that Old City Java had great reviews. It was tucked in an alley and took a few extra glances to find. There was plenty of seating inside. The menu is fairly small but has everything you need. I ordered an iced latte with chocolate and oak milk. It came out quickly and the barista was very nice. I really enjoyed the flavoring of the coffee, as it was not too sweet. I would recommend checking out this shop. It would be a great place to read, study, or just hang out with friends.

Oat milk decaf latte.

Stopped for a coffee after breakfast. We had an oat milk decaf latte and a decaf americano with steamed cream. Both were very good! It's hard to get good decaf espresso drinks but this experience was positive. We would return again! Oh and the croissants looks amazing! If only we hadn't had breakfast already. Next time...

I'm a sucker for neat coffee shops and this is one. It has a cool rust feel to it but makes you feel at home. Excellent coffee to boot.

The drinks are well made! Their chia tea is not very strong. The service is good and I would come here again.

The place had 2 customers silently sitting and maybe working on their computers but the whole place felt sterile and lifeless. I wasn't greeted and stood at the counter for a few minutes while the lone employee arranged items until I finally asked if I could order. I wanted to sample a variety- so I got an apple fritter, a snickerdoodle donut, a buttermilk old fashioned, and a blueberry Pączki. The apple fritter was the best of those 4. The snickerdoodle was just a traditional cinnamon sugar donut. The base was a bit dry yet also tasted oily. The buttermilk old fashioned had a similar greasy flavor and not the tang I'd expect from this type of donut. The Pączki was just a minimally filled jelly donut...and the dough was very greasy. Normally, the dough is more bready and has a more rich flavor. The ones I've always eaten in the past are heavily filled. This place seems like it has potential but it just lacks the quality or personality I'm looking for in a local gem. Nothing was awful but nothing was great either.

It wasn't as sweet as I expected (like if you order at Starbucks for eg) but the ambiance inside is excellent - they have tables and regular chairs but also couches and big soft chairs. I sat in a big soft chair and was very comfortable! They also have two clean bathrooms, i changed in there after hiking. There weren't enough hanging pegs but they were spacious so still good enough. The staff up front were quick and helpful! No trouble there. And there were a decent number of parking spots out back - that said, by the time I left, the lot was completely full. Not sure where else you could park in the area. Overall, if passing and needing a rest I would rec this spot! But I would try ordering something else besides a London fog ;)
