There's a short lap track on the first floor by the shoes to try out a pair so trainers. They did get rid of their guns. Their sales section is up on the second floor. I have a huge selection of canoes and kayaks too. They have so much stuff, it's mind boggling. They even gave gold bling putter covers. Evidently Saturdays are for the boys. I must have missed that memo. They have wading boots that are taller than me even. 4-wheeled golf carts that are as big as a stroller and fold down like a stroller too.

The shoe aisle in the back left of the store reminded me of what I would see at a store. I didn't see a lot of decent quality boots from when I could tell. I walked further and at least found a whole wall socks. They at least had a smart wool socks and they were on sale for $13 a pair. I was able to buy almost $200 worth of socks for both of us. At least our feet will be warm the rest of the cool cold weather until spring returns. Might be good to swap out socks today, it's bitterly cold outside. The checkout area reminds me of a TJ Maxx or Marshalls. It announces when the cashier is free and their number for their counter.

Regrettably, I wish I had returned for the correct size instead of the oversized shoes. They were quite noisy, and I'm not sure why my husband was bothered when I walked into a pair of slightly too-big sneakers (wrong size than my regular size shoes) for me. I was wearing an eight-size shoe, and adjusting to the new environment in Germany made the noise from these sneakers bother other people. It was a result of what my parents had purchased for me! On the positive side, the store has been incredibly helpful and provided me with excellent guidance on the right kind of sneakers for my needs. However, the retailer should have checked my size before rushing off. I thoroughly enjoyed this store because it offered all the necessary methods to address my fused ankle and balance issues. I am incredibly grateful to my orthopedic foot and ankle orthopedics specialist for referring me here before I began my physical therapy program!

First the good, and the reason for the one star (not that I could give less anyway)... the sales…read morestaff was very friendly. Kudos for that. Now for the bad, and let me preface this by mentioning that I spent a good portion of my adulthood racing and working in various bike shops. And I was the service manager in one, so I have a LOT of bike mechanic experience. If I were the service manager of this shop, I'd have fired the person who built my bike. Today I bought a particular TREK MTB at this store, because unfortunately my usual store didn't have one and couldn't get one. First problem: you are NOT supposed to use grease on a carbon seatpost with a carbon frame. It's LITERALLY PRINTED on the back of the seatpost, though it's something any good mechanic should know anyway. Sure enough they assembled it with tons of grease, and within just a 1 mile ride, the post slid down a good inch. So I degreased the post, and put 'carbon paste' on it to keep it from happening again. Second problem (picture attached): they mounted the remote shock lockout outboard of the brake lever, which means there's nowhere for your thumb to go when you wrap your hand around the grip. A simple look at the TREK website shows it's installed wrong. And switching them around after requires removing the grip. Sometimes that can be done without destroying the grip, sometimes it can't. So I've already had to buy new grips to fix their mistake. There were several other minor things that never would have been acceptable at my shop, but this is long enough already. I guess if you're looking for a very basic shop, or if you have your own mechanical skills, they're an acceptable choice. Otherwise, I'd highly suggest you look elsewhere. Oh, also, to make it even more insulting, they try to sell you a $150 tune-up plan, which just means you pay up front to have them continue to provide you with subpar repair service. Disappointed mostly because working in a bike shop was always more than just a blow-off job to me. Sad to see that's not the case here. I won't be back.
