I had a great time at Old Asia Teahouse! If you're looking for a traditional tea house feel with a modern twist, this is the place for you. We had the 3 course tea High Tea Ceremony. This was a course of small plates paired with 3 unique teas all served gongfu style. The food was good, and even though they were considered "small plates" between the food and the tea, I finished the afternoon with a full belly! The staff was super knowledgeable and guided us through each tea, their pairing suggestions, as well as step by step brewing instructions l. The space is small so I recommend making a reservation if that's an option. Overall, this was a great experience.

We had dinner reservations for a Saturday night at this restaurant. We decided to order more of the appetizers to try out and order one entree to share between the two of us. We each ordered a cup of tea and some sparkling water to start the meal. The tea was very aromatic and amazingly displayed. Our food came out at once. The star of the night must be the snap peas as it was cooked to perfection. The seared tuna was great too. Overall, the interior space is very intimate. It is highly recommended that you make reservations in advance to ensure there is a table inside. There are a lot of tables outside as well when the weather permits. Overall, it was a fun experience.

Great ambiance! Love the decor, plenty of seating inside. I visited for lunch during the week, and there were only two other tables seated while I was there. Service was attentive, we were greeted immediately and they took our order in a timely manner. We ordered the chicken karaage, garlic noodles, and the tea leaf salad. The tea leaf salad was my favorite of all the dishes we had, full of flavor and the perfect crunch. The chicken was nice and crispy, but all the flavor was in the sauce. Overall we enjoyed the food, it just took a while to come out. I can see there being a long wait for food to arrive if you dine during a busier time. They have a great tea menu, I can definitely see myself returning to enjoy tea and appetizers or dessert.

If you are looking for a super dark place to have a conversation, this is great. The setting is very nice. But the food is below average as in taste and presentation. The rice was undercooked, the chicken doesn't have much flavor. Service is good too. Just the food is kind of not matching the setting.

walked in as a teahouse and you found out they can offer than teas. Great selections of teas, some sweets. Also they have full bar and you can order some food. Service is good. Small but good ambiance, I had a cup of tea and almond cake. I will comeback for some food and drinks.

I love the concept of an Asian teahouse that offers various Asian fare! The decor and interior lends itself to oriental and romantic vibes. My husband and I came on a Saturday around noon. Since the space is small, I think it's recommended to come with a reservation as the seats can fill up quick but we came with no reservation and it wasn't an issue. We ordered a couple of teas, a Ginseng Tea and Burmese Tea. For food, we ordered a Chicken Karaage, Lentil Soup with Roti, and a Tea Leaf Laphet Thoke (Tea Leaf Salad). They carefully craft their drinks, it's like watching a bartender make a cocktail but instead of a cocktail, it's a tea drink. I love the Burmese Tea because of how earthy it was and the taste was complimented by the oat milk. As for the food, the tea leaf salad is always a standout, it's a must get every time I go to a Burmese restaurant. I did enjoy the Lentil Soup and Roti, it was well spiced and comforting. The karaage was good too, it was light and crispy.

Wow! This space is so cute and beautifully decorated I was definitely impressed! Additionally the food was absolutely delicious and the tea selection was great with beautiful place settings and dinnerware! The only downside is the inside is very small so I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The server was very educated on the menu and was able to help recommend some great teas and dishes.

TLDR: Ambiance/Vibes - 5/5 (perfect date night/girls night spot!) Food - 4/5 (get the fried beef with garlic rice!) Service - 4/5 Tea - 3/5 I didn't try their cocktails this time but they look so pretty I'm sure they are also delicious! Let me explain: Went to check out this new Teahouse and restaurant right off of Lombard Road (around Ktown BBQ and Carina's Bakery area) Their parking lot is tiny maybe 1 spot and 1 disabled parking spot but there is plenty of street parking around that area. This restaurant is not very big and you can tell they put a lot of effort into their decor to create a cozy and intimate setting with the dim lighting, bright red lanterns, and blue porcelain patterned dishes. It's truly a blend of traditional and modern vibes. We also got the booth (which I would say can comfortably sit 4 people max) and some other seating arrangements by the wall but not many tables altogether, excluding bar seating. The food menu is Asian fusion including small plates to share and 4 entrées and dessert options, but everything was delicious! The sauce on the Agedashi Tofu was light and flavored the soft tofu very well. Chicken Nikudango (chicken meatballs) was bouncy but the sauce was spicy and I don't think there was an indication of that on the menu. Our favorites had to be the Fried Beef with Garlic Sauce (MUST GET!) and the Stir Fried Snap Peas was the crowd favorite. This was a good amount of food to share among the 3 of us with no leftovers. Service was super fast and friendly and she came to check on us several times throughout our meal. We got a pot of the Green Tangerine Pu-erh and there was the typical tea preparation performed at your table: opening up the ball of tea and "rinsing" the first round of water unto the tea animal (ours was a cute tiger I'm not sure if they have different ones) If I may make a suggestion, since this is labeled as a Teahouse, I would have loved to learn more about the tea with perhaps a little card describing the tea origin and blend, have a timer for the most optimal seeping time at the table and hot water for us to add ourselves with our pot. Between 3 people it went down very fast! It also looked like there is an outdoor seating area with a few picnic tables for the warmer months. Overall I recommend trying here for yourself and supporting local business!

This is an off the beaten path establishment that you might miss if you did not know about it. Creative menu with Pan Asian flair. Loved the tea service and had fun asking questions and looking up the background of Tea Pets. The seating area is small and cozy. Perfect for a rainy day. There is more seating outside for nicer weather.

The place is small so reservation is likely a must. It is very cozy and full of ambiance that transports you to another place, which is very nice. Service was good and attentive and very friendly. The food is good to ok. Most of the dishes linger around Asian-ish but I get it, flavor of the East but not as much. Presentation is wonderful as your can see in the pictures. I would like to see more authentic flavors but I got a hint of it. Overall a wonderful place for date night.

We came here for a lady date/girls tea. it is such an adorable place! Service is meticulous, yet slow. Food is tasty, yet pricey. Parking is on the street. The spot is very small and easy to miss. All and all, it is worth the experience

Cat figure for the tea offering

Came here with my friend for the afternoon tea and this place did not disappoint. The inside is on the smaller side and feels cozy but not cramped. For their afternoon tea, they have a solid selection with some lower caffeine options for those who have a lower tolerance (me lol). We both loved the blue people oolong so much that we bought some to take home. The small bites that are included were different from what I've had at other places, which was nice because it felt like there was more variety. You also get a pretty good sized Donburi bowl which makes it feel like a meal. The service was great and the staff were knowledgeable about the teas. I think my favorite part was the tea offering to the little cat figure that was at our table. I definitely want to go back and try the food from their regular menu!

The garlic asparagus was cooked very well, with a slight crunch and a perfect amount of garlic for my tastebuds.

Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!

I've worked through most of the menu, and every single dish lands. I kept expecting at least one to miss, but it never did. I'm not usually a seafood person, but their fish tacos and Ahi Poke nachos completely changed my mind. If seafood always tasted like that, I'd order it every time. The deviled eggs might be my all-time favorite appetizer. The steak bites are perfectly cooked and tender, and the white cheddar onion dip is rich, savory, and hard to stop eating. What really puts it over the top is the experience. The owner is incredibly welcoming, the staff is attentive without hovering, and the whole place has an elevated but relaxed energy.
