NOW I DONT eat burgers I like cheese burgers lol but this burger here was just mouth watering amazing and I'm not just saying that my 8rld who is so picky about what's on his burger . He doesn't like mayo or onions or any sauce besides bbq sauce and ketchup lol. This kid pretty much ate my whole burger and half of my husband lol needless to say he enjoyed every moment of it the way we did. $15 the most I've ever spent on a burger lol.

Well organized check-in on one end at 640 Hamilton St right across from the PPL center. Four booths selling food. For a festival the prices were reasonable too. We enjoyed Buffalo style pulled pork nachos which were a good sized portion from Bell Hall for $5. More than worth it! There was also a Axe Throwing area. Two lanes set up at $10 for 10 minutes they always had people present. My first time going to the event and I'll definitely be back next year.

It was very easy to reserve the tickets online. For sedans, SUVs, trucks, mini vans, it was $16 prior to the processing fee and tax. We reserved tickets for December 24th at 5:30pm. The entrance to Lights in the Parkway is 1700 Martin Luther King Jr Dr. I put Lights In The Parkway(Entrance) in the GPS and it brought us directly there. Also, there were signs leading to the entrance along the way. At first, we showed we had tickets to people directing traffic and then our tickets were scanned at the ticket booth. After that, we were instructed to turn off our headlights and went through the drive-through light display. It took us maybe about 10 minutes to get to the beginning of the lights. There were lighted trees, light tunnels, and animated displays. I can't imagine how long it takes to put up the displays. For the price, this activity was definitely worth it. It is a fun family activity to get in the car, listen to holiday music, and look at the displays. It took us about 30 minutes to go through the whole display. Thankfully we didn't have to wait long to get our tickets scanned. I was worried when I was reading reviews about waiting an hour.

I definitely would love if they made this longer and charged a bit more if they had to though. It was under 2 miles long and did seem longer than that simply because we were driving slowly, but I would have preferred a bit more. Also make sure you tune your radio in to the station they link up with. It plays holiday music while you're watching the lights. Also also, turn off your headlights while going through. It will help you see things better and also takes some of the glare off your photos!

At first I was not really impressed ... minus the staff who was my actual first impression and they were very nice and cool. I was surprised we got there a few minutes before gates opened and the whole road was filled with a line to get in. They have one gate and let two cars enter. We had to buy tickets ahead of time and it was per person - not sure if this is common or just for this theater or just for special events. We went for the Godzilla Kong two day event. There is only one large theater and they gave us like no directions on where to park or what to do or anything. We got a spot pretty up close and it was not easy to see where to leave from - they definitely need more markers. I think they assume many people here are regulars but that was not the case and direction by mouth or way of sign would have been helpful. We felt so bad leaving and were not sure if we went out the "theater" correctly. They have a very small like merch stand and a very old snack stand that does have bathrooms- I got nervous seeing the port-a-potties. The bathrooms are very tiny and the stalls are even tinier so if you're claustrophobic (or a more plus sized person) it might not be super comfortable. They did have a decent amount of snacks and I like that they also sold vhs and vinyl inside. There were a bunch of cool displays for this event which I also enjoyed. I do not like that they didn't have radios to rent. Not really trusting using my car radio I did have to purchase a radio to be able to pair. They basically have an mc/dj who made a curated playlist and talked about the movies before hand. It didn't get dark until 9:15 - we only stayed for one movie because of how late it was and when we left we didn't realize how crowded it was. There definitely were some pros and cons to this theater- we'll probably be back mostly for convenience because it was a straight shot up 476 which made getting here really easy. It definitely is a bit more ... noticeably old and I don't know if they play new movies or not. But overall it was enjoyable. Next time we might stay close by when they have a triple feature like this.

It was a clear night with a lot of cars, music, special events, costumes, and just a fun vibe throughout. The on-site radio station runs programming and music up to dusk and the start of the night. We listened from a warm SUV close to the screen and even though everyone was in their own little clusters, we all laughed and cheered loud enough to carry across the open field. The people running this show do it out of love for film, the drive-in experience, and the people who come to see these films. The movies are scheduled so it brings together fans of horror, fantasy, schlock, shock, and classic Gen-X flicks. Check out their podcast which can be linked on their website. In addition to a great concession stand, they've got cool swag and merch. The portable toilet experience is hit or miss, but that's a minor bit of 'roughing it' in exchange for the experience. When we were there, a concert was playing up the road and sometimes competed with the sound of the movies, but I didn't mind that so much as some entitled whine-factories. It's just like it felt back toward the end of the golden era when I was growing up in the 70s and early 80s. Movies on a big white screen outside among a thousand close strangers. Definitely worth the drive if you're between New York and DC.

Becky's Drive-In Theatre is a historic drive-in movie theater that opened in Walnutport,…read morePennsylvania in 1946. It was founded by William D. Beck (known to all as "Becky") and his wife Alice. Possessing a love for the cinema at a young age, Becky first began showing movies in his parents' living room using a hung bed-sheet as a movie screen. By the late 1930s, he began working as a projectionist and screened movies at various sites throughout Pennsylvania. By 1946, he opened the drive-in theater at its present site (originally called "Route 45 Drive-In"). In the following decades, Becky would continue to upgrade the grounds and added a refreshment stand, a playground for children, free pony rides, live music on certain nights, and enough space to accommodate 440 cars. By the early 1970s, the business was renamed "Becky's". Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, at a time when drive-in theaters were in serious decline, Becky's began screening adult films in order to keep the business going. By the late 1980s, Becky's returned to screening family-oriented films. Becky passed away in 1987 and Alice followed him in 2007. Today the business is owned and run by the couples' children and grandchildren. It is open seasonally from April to October. On a recent trip to visit our cousins in Pennsylvania, they took us to Becky's, which they described as "the BEST drive-in theater in the area". On the evening that we visited, we had a choice to see either "The Odyssey" or a Double Feature of "Moana" and "Minions & Monsters". We opted for the more family-friendly double feature. This was the first drive-in movie experience for my two sons, who both had a blast playing at the playground before the movie started. Becky also offers portable radio rentals, which we decided to get so we didn't drain our car batteries. Before the movie started, we hit up the refreshment stand and ordered some "Pretzel Bites", "Chicken Fingers", "French Fries", a "Hot Dog", and a "Moana Burger" (bacon, pineapple, teriyaki sauce): a delicious menu special released just for the run of "Moana". We all ended up really enjoying the new live-action version of the film. Although we had planned to stay for "Minions & Monsters", we ended up leaving after the first film because we were all exhausted. It's nice to know that historic drive-ins like Becky's still exist. We highly recommend a visit!

Just got back from a long weekend at West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert, PA - note we were there for…read morean event that was not the annual "West End Fair". I was there for a music festival called moe.down (it has a bunch of bands the main act being the jamband from NY called moe.). Let me just say if you are considering attending a music fest at West End Fairgrounds this place is pretty ideal for a small to medium sized fest. Plenty of flat ground to camp or RV. Lots of buildings to house some of the infrastructure. The ground generally has good drainage (we got some heavy rain for a bit and while it did pool, I think a lot of it went away relatively quickly. Also the location of the site is VERY close to 2 supermarkets, one of which is the largest ShopRite in existence! I had never been to Gilbert before but there is def stuff to see in do within an hour that you could add on before or after an event here. Overall I was very impressed and would happily return!

9/22/24 - We attended the hot air balloon festival in September, when the weather was still quite…read morewarm. It seems to be held 2-3 times between June and September. According to their website, this is the first of three hot air balloon festivals in Warren County, created in 2021 for artists and crafters. This event was called the "Hot Air Balloons, Arts & Crafts Festival," and there were vendors, food trucks, live music, as well as activities and entertainment (mostly geared toward kids) such as axe throwing, a video arcade trailer, bounce house, face painting, crafts, a clown walking around doing tricks, a robo-dog, drone flying demo, rocket building & launch, and my toddler's favorite - a giant tub of Legos lol. You could also pay to go up in a tethered balloon ($30 adult/$20 child 4-12yo), but the line was long and didn't seem to be moving too fast so we abandoned that idea. The highlight was of course the balloon launch, which began in the late afternoon into early evening, one after another. It was a sight to behold as the colorful balloons drifted over the horizon. We laid out our picnic blankets on the grass, ate food and walked around while watching the balloons take off. Toward the end of the evening, 7-8ish, there was a dance party with a DJ and pretty good music, which lasted until sunset. Very fun for the kids (and me!), and the DJ booth gave away light-up bracelets and other glow-in-the-dark accessories to everyone! Finally, we stayed to watch the special monster balloon be inflated before leaving as it was getting dark and colder. Parking and check-in were a beeeze and very organized. The event is family friendly and we thought the price was reasonable especially if you buy a family pack.

3.5 Have been to a balloon festival and fair just once…read morebefore - there was a lot to do/see and many hot air balloons were released. Had some expectations when we decided to go last-minute to this one held in Warren Community College, Washington NJ. It was the last for this summer. Pay for admission on their website or at the location. $10/adult, $5/parking. Got the family rate at $35, for up to 5 people, parking included- good deal. Parking was very organized. Our QR code was scanned at ticketing tent and got wristbands. Was told we could leave and return with the bands (Could have gone to an outdoor bbq place we drove by on the way.) Festival started at 2pm, we got there at 3pm. In the open grassy field of the college so was warm under the sun. Shade under trees, tents. Make sure to have sun protection and something to sit on. Had my yelp blanket in the car so laid it on the nice grass and used my yelp Mets fan to cool off. No balloons yet so we decided to see what's at the fair. First we saw a remote-operated dog. It was walking around, checking out food menus haha and interacting with people. So cool. For food/drinks, prices from $4 for hotdogs with different toppings, to $10-$25 from the various food trucks/tents. We just ate so got fried oreos and funnel cake at $10 each; iced coffees from The Laughing Goat in the cutest food truck (a local coffee place). Their iced americano had good flavor, more than their iced coffee. Not much for us adults to do there so didn't need to come too early. Unless you want to pay to go in one of the 3 tethered balloons, which went on til dark; axe-throwing (not bad at $5 for 5 min) or the "walk-into" inflated balloon for photo-op $3pp. We just checked out the few vendor tents; got our video taken in a grounded balloon basket with flames shooting up, flew a small drone. There was a juggler with different props - learned how to use the chinese yoyo, etc. Little kids had face-painting; made paper rockets and launched them; a small bounce house, etc. Heard there was going to be a dance party too. At close to 5pm, we got our spot with a great view of the balloons being inflated. First one went up about 45min later. 8 balloons so not as many as our first experience. Still, nice to watch. At about 7pm, 4 more balloons were inflated, which included the finale Monster balloon. We decided to leave when it got dark and the monster was still down. Too bad. We wish they started on it much earlier.
