This place is so typically Japanese, nothing fancy though, but delicious. And of course the staff is very friendly. You can even enjoy a manga or a magazine from their library while you wait, but read fast because service is rather quick. ;)
This restaurant serves a variety of ramen noodle soups and grilled dishes, but also the typical Okonomi Yaki pancakes which I certainly recommend trying. However, if it's Sushi you're looking for, this place doesn't have it. But hey, if all you know is Sushi then perhaps it's time for you to discover the rest of Japanese cuisine! ;)
The grilled dishes are particularly interesting and fun: your table has a built-in hot plate where you grill your food yourself. The chef and the waitress can show you how to do it if it's your first time. Relax, it's super easy! :)
The prices are very reasonable for the quality provided here.
Last Sunday day I had washu-gyu harami teisyoku (grilled beef with vegetables), my wife had curry udon teishoku (udon noodles soup with a curry sauce), and our son had yaki soba noodles as always. Nice weather, good food, fresh beer... bliss...
Something to know if, like me, you live in the area:
Buying a whole bottle of sake might be way too much for just one diner, however if you plan on going often it's definitely worth it: as with most real Japanese restaurants they will put your name on it and they will keep it for you for when you come back. read more
