Onion volcano

My gf and I went here last Saturday and had a great time! The atmosphere was great, and the waiters and chef were friendly. Just a heads up- hibachi is meant to be an experience, so don't go if you're in a rush. The waitresses were running their bums off, but it still took a bit of time for them to take our order, and for the chef to start cooking. We had the crab rangoons (tasty) and two of the hibachi dinners. Everything was delicious, but I do wish they had more sauces to choose from. Overall, it was a great experience and we'll definitely be back.

13. Beef Kushiyaki

Extremely disappointed. I ordered online, and upon arrival they told me they did not have any online orders. Turns out the order didn't print. They expedited said order, which was fairly quick, so that was good. Ordered the beef kushiyaki and received two measly skewers. $10?! Outrageous price for roughly 3oz of beef. Do not recommend

Okami salad and happy birthday cocktail

This place needs more reviews cause it was so good! On a recommendation from the good people at Half-Axed across the way, me and my partner went to Okami for a quiet birthday dinner. Originally we wanted hibachi, but we settled on eating at the sushi bar. I ordered a cocktail for the occasion, the aptly named Happy Birthday. It was a light, sweet and fruity cocktail. Perfect for the occasion. Before we received our ordered sushi, the spicy maki combo, and the dynamite roll, we received a complimentary Okami salad, each. The salad had fresh slivers of crab and cucumber mixed with tobiko/masago? and maybe some spicy mayo? over a drizzle of eel sauce. Not sure the exact combination, but it was super delicious and we each could have eaten a plate of that by itself. We also had a miso soup and ginger dressing salad, both of which were yummy. We then received the rolls. I love sushi (eating at least once a week somewhere in Boston) and this place did not disappoint. Presentation, taste, shape, etc was solid. The dry ice was a nice touch on the dynamite roll. It was more food than we could finish so we took a box home. The staff was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere on a Sunday night was laid back, but the staff was still very present the entire time. Reasonably priced for sushi. Spent less than $50 total for the two of us. Definitely will come back next time we are in Marlborough to try the hibachi and bring some friends.

Classy upscale eatery in downtown Marlborough? Who'd a thunk it?…read more Three-sided bar, very modern lighting, an even mix of regular and high-top booths, and a private room or two. Good place to take a date you want to impress. Or a coworker who owes you a lunch, but the joke's on you, because the $35 weekday 3-course lunch prix fixe is a steal. -- Pork Belly (my app on the prix fixe): Three slabs of pork belly, somewhat bacon-like, minus the cure but much thicker. Dressed in hoisin sauce (with an extra drizzle around the perimeter) and finely chopped mango salsa. Good crunch, good tenderness and juiciness, and no disgusting fat to discard. -- Brussels Sprouts (my coworker's app on the prix fixe): A very large serving, crisp on the outside, and flavored/moistened by balsamic that didn't try overtake the vegetables themselves. Some smaller pieces of pork belly for accents. Another nice one. -- Wagyu Burger (my entree on the prix fixe): Pretty plating showed off the sturdy grilled sesame brioche bun housing a concoction of burger sauce, melted cheddar, and vegetation in addition to the thick wagyu beef patty. Perhaps a bit too busy, perhaps a bit too dense of bun for brioche, but overall, a solid construction. They hit the medium rare with a charred, crusty exterior and a pink, tender interior-- somewhat juicy and reasonably flavorful. Not super juicy, not super flavorful, and not a life-changing, must-get-again-immediately burger, but I was very happy with it and plan on having it again. -- Fries (with the burger): You get a choice of hand-cut regular fries, truffle fries, or a salad, which is nice. The standard fries I chose were crisp, hot, and droopy all in the same bite. Good job. -- Chocolate Torte (my dessert on the prix fixe): A deceptively thin wedge that's surprisingly heavy, dense, and both generous of and potent of fudgy ganache (or ganachy fudge), without any floured cake under it-- not that there's anything wrong with that. Delicious and very filling. Very personable service from Kim. Overall, a very good meal. Solid burger, very good apps, and I liked the fact that both appetizers were full size, not a compromise to give you two and a half courses instead of the promised three. To be visited again for sure and an easy 4 with the potential for a 5.

It had lots of fresh mashed potatoes on top, ground beef and corn. I was surprised by the corn's presence and absence of peas and carrots. It was still really tasty, just a bit unexpected. My friend got an omelette with 3 pancakes. The pancakes had a bit of a tough texture on one side, but still good. We got an order of fried shrimp that was excellent with some delicious cocktail sauce. Service from Mary was very friendly, welcoming, and pleasant.
