Three words: Heaven on earth…read more Dave and Allison are the warmest, most welcoming people we know of. They are hard workers with an understanding of the delicate balance between work and play. Their home like a hug and a massage, and you feel it as soon as you arrive. The setting is on a hill in the valley, with the backdrop of the mountain around and some orchards below and Vineyards in the distance. With plenty of trees, a pond and some bog, this land is home to a lot of wildlife. You will hear quails calling in the day, and then crickets chirping and Coyotes yip-yipping during the night. Countless bird songs are the backdrop on this sound stage. The upstairs common area includes the kitchen, living and dining room, but mostly the breakfasts are served on the very spacious deck overlooking the fabulous view. Allison makes awesome Waffles, served with fresh local fruit and fruit creams, home made Buckwheat or Oat Granola, with choices like home made Almond, milk, or Soy. They serve only non GMO, Organic, and mostly locally grown foods and Dave makes really good coffee too. They are excellent conversationalists. Great listeners and always willing to share what they know about the valley and learn from the people they meet. They have a very wonderful energy. Downstairs we find a table with fixings for Tea or Coffee. Then the simple and elegant woodsy log cabin styled guest rooms with comfy beds, wood beamed ceilings and hardwood flooring. Each room has a sink, comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy the beautiful cross breeze you get from all the windows. The smell of the garden wafts in having an aroma-therapeutic affect that calms the nerves. The bathroom has a shower and a large tub set in front of a window with a breathtaking view. The tiled floors can be heated in cool times. I haven't been this relaxed in a very long time. Can't wait to return. :-)

Fresh peaches, berries etc. The back porch overlooking the Okanagan river Valley. This high sagebrush desert ( in this case of British Columbia) is very similar to where my Mom grew up in Utah ( Butterfield canyon) and also central Oregon ( Smith Rocks) where her folks spent the last 30 years. My Mom with early stages dementia was like a small innocent child savoring fresh fruits, milk, eggs and buckwheat pancakes. In the morning we could see coyote, deer and a proliferation of Hummingbirds. . Jeff

After a whirlwind trip from Burnaby to Kamloops to Revelstoke to Naramata via the old Westside Road (highly recommended, but that's another story), we were excited to lay down roots for a couple of days in a B&B we found on an Internet search. A slow drive up the winding mountain road towards Chute Lake led us to the closest place to Heaven we have ever been. We were greeted at the door by Maya, her smile welcoming and her eyes aglow. A beautiful welcome! She gave us a tour, explained that we simply had to ask if we needed anything, and encouraging us to take all that is offered in their beautiful home. After being on the road for 7 hours, we had stopped to get supplies for a picnic supper with a stop to Poplar grove for the triple cream Camembert. It went perfectly with the Cottonwood Estate wine chilling in the fridge for us. We enjoyed our meal on our balcony overlooking Okanagan Lake, with views from the mountains through Penticton with Skaha Lake beyond over to Summerland. We stayed in the Garden Suite. A huge canopied king size bed that was perfect - covered in lush sheets, a fireplace that could be ambience or heat, a fridge to keep the wine cold and a deep soaker tub, two wingback chairs and a patio with the most amazing views blew us away when we entered. I met Ben as he was playing with their darling daughter in the garden. He was just as friendly and welcoming as his lovely wife. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the andorondak chairs overlooking the lake and life was good. We woke the next morning and received our breakfast at the requested time. A delicious rolled cheese and spinach omelet, perfectly cooked butcher bacon, a half mango and Pain du Chocoat for me and a croissant for Eric as he has a special diet, coffee and OJ. We headed out to do the wineries, but decided to get in some supplies and sit on the andorondak chairs and watch the lake instead. (we did hit our favorite wineries on way the way back though, as well as Upper Bench for more great cheese (Grey Baby) We enjoyed the afternoon and evening, another picnic supper and some fine Bench wines. We saw quail, mountain goats and a lot of deer poop, but alas, no deer. We wandered the pathways, took a ton of pictures, and found the ONLY place we will stay in Naramata from now on. I can't wait to see what breakfast brings tomorrow. It will be hard to say goodbye, but I will highly recommend this to everyone I know.

I had actually been here before about 10 years ago with my parents and also loved it then. But with a huge group of amazing friends and family it was over the top awesome. Overlooking Skaha lake and only 10 min to Penticton this place cannot be beat. It is a throwback to a simpler time. White-washed Greek villa style home with eclectic, randomly designed rooms. If you like consistency, wifi and satellite TV...please move on. This place is not for you. But, if you like to explore finding new things around every corner, enjoying the simple things in life like amazing food (the breakfasts are insanely good - i will venture to say the best breakfast buffet I have ever had!), strolls in the hills, wine and cheese in your own little corner with view, picking fresh fruit from trees (the most amazing yellow plums, apricots, pears etc), star gazing, late night hot tub and lounging by the pool... then please do not miss this place. I cannot wait to get back!!!

This lovely château overlooking Lake Okanogan seemed at first overwhelming because of its size, but quickly became a comfortable warm, inviting home away from home. Impeccably clean, beautifully furnished, and immensely private, this house , including its separate Beachhouse, has eight bedrooms, in-house theater, as well as multiple sitting rooms all with fireplaces. Billiards, workout room and a well appointed spa gave many opportunities for distraction, while maintaining a quiet private stay. Every room affords an elevated spectacular view of lake Okanogan looking towards western exposure. Fenced and secluded 44 acres of lakefront property allows for hiking and new vantage points to enjoy the view. The staff was attentive, friendly, and enhanced the experience with their smiles and enthusiasm. The food provided was imaginative, lovely in its presentation, satisfying and warm. Local wines from the nearby Kelowna wine country were available and enjoyed. Although the season did not allow for tennis, a beautifully surfaced, pro level tennis court is a short walk from the main building. A seasonal outdoor swimming pool, and a separate lap pool are also available. The indoor hot tub in the spa was perfect for a December dip. Steam room, dry sauna, as well as a masseuse rounded out the spa experience. It was our pleasure to celebrate the vision of what this amazing B and B will soon realize. The grandeur of the experience coupled with a sense of seclusion, security and privacy would be difficult to top. Another visit someday ,during the summer months, where we can appreciate the multiple water features, summer foliage and even an exotic car driving experience, will be something to consider for the future.

I will not be able to comment enough about how amazing our stay was at this fantastic bed and breakfast. It is undeniably a beautiful house, with such perfect personal touches (toiletries to use, water in fridge, Lindt bars, etc) and the highest quality towels, sheets, beds and ... Well... Everything. However, it was the host with the most Karen who made our stay one of the best weekends we've had in a long time. I swear this woman was put on earth to make people enjoy their vacations and to fatten them up with amazing breakfasts (pictures posted). Karen is a ball of amazing energy who truly added to the trip for us. From recommendation at restaurants that we loved, to providing free bicycles to ride around, to greeting us with cold wine (you literally had me at hello) to her professional and fun attitude every time we chatted. Breakfast was a work of art that will rarely be matched at any other B and B in this country and others (this lady has kitchen skills). Comfortable, clean, beautiful, amazing location for walking, beach across the road, and a host that will personally bring your vacation to another level of perfection. Do not bother looking elsewhere if you have the privilege of staying at the Ogopogo Bed and Breakfast. We've started planning next year already... Karen-get the blintz ready:) Thanks again Karen for everything.
