Three words: Heaven on earth…read more Dave and Allison are the warmest, most welcoming people we know of. They are hard workers with an understanding of the delicate balance between work and play. Their home like a hug and a massage, and you feel it as soon as you arrive. The setting is on a hill in the valley, with the backdrop of the mountain around and some orchards below and Vineyards in the distance. With plenty of trees, a pond and some bog, this land is home to a lot of wildlife. You will hear quails calling in the day, and then crickets chirping and Coyotes yip-yipping during the night. Countless bird songs are the backdrop on this sound stage. The upstairs common area includes the kitchen, living and dining room, but mostly the breakfasts are served on the very spacious deck overlooking the fabulous view. Allison makes awesome Waffles, served with fresh local fruit and fruit creams, home made Buckwheat or Oat Granola, with choices like home made Almond, milk, or Soy. They serve only non GMO, Organic, and mostly locally grown foods and Dave makes really good coffee too. They are excellent conversationalists. Great listeners and always willing to share what they know about the valley and learn from the people they meet. They have a very wonderful energy. Downstairs we find a table with fixings for Tea or Coffee. Then the simple and elegant woodsy log cabin styled guest rooms with comfy beds, wood beamed ceilings and hardwood flooring. Each room has a sink, comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy the beautiful cross breeze you get from all the windows. The smell of the garden wafts in having an aroma-therapeutic affect that calms the nerves. The bathroom has a shower and a large tub set in front of a window with a breathtaking view. The tiled floors can be heated in cool times. I haven't been this relaxed in a very long time. Can't wait to return. :-)

Fresh peaches, berries etc. The back porch overlooking the Okanagan river Valley. This high sagebrush desert ( in this case of British Columbia) is very similar to where my Mom grew up in Utah ( Butterfield canyon) and also central Oregon ( Smith Rocks) where her folks spent the last 30 years. My Mom with early stages dementia was like a small innocent child savoring fresh fruits, milk, eggs and buckwheat pancakes. With all the rain this year the wildflowers were out in full force and a plethora of shades of green everywhere. The Inn is beautifully located with so many fun rooms to choose from. The hosts are friendly and so accommodating with delicious food to meet the needs of my husband who must eat gluten free. The grounds are beautiful, views spectacular and we soaked in the sounds of birds and tranquility. We are really hoping we can come back and visit. I highly recommend staying at the Inn. The hosts will also accommodate for lunches, dinners and weddings. They are amazing people.

Overlooking Skaha lake and only 10 min to Penticton this place cannot be beat. It is a throwback to a simpler time. White-washed Greek villa style home with eclectic, randomly designed rooms. If you like consistency, wifi and satellite TV...please move on. This place is not for you. But, if you like to explore finding new things around every corner, enjoying the simple things in life like amazing food (the breakfasts are insanely good - i will venture to say the best breakfast buffet I have ever had!), strolls in the hills, wine and cheese in your own little corner with view, picking fresh fruit from trees (the most amazing yellow plums, apricots, pears etc), star gazing, late night hot tub and lounging by the pool... then please do not miss this place. If you enjoy the outdoors, you will love Buena Vista. My husband and took in the beautiful, rolling hills on our morning run and it was peaceful and serene. The breakfasts were absolutely perfect. The coffee was good and hospitality was warm and inviting. The hostess, Patti, is so kind and accommodating, we didn't want to leave! There is also the sweetest cat that comes to visit, so if you're like me and obsessed with cats, Rosebud is the cherry on top of an already perfect stay. (If you're allergic, Patti will keep her put away) We will definitely be back. We highly recommend you visit.

A girlfriend and I were looking for a nice place to stay for a weekend wine tasting trip. Because…read morewe were on a relatively limited budget, we were looking for a place with a kitchen to cook our own food. But we were also looking for some creature comforts and hoping to find a nice place with a hot tub and grill. The Elm Tree Farm could not have exceeded out expectations more! The owners (who also operate the surrounding farm) were as nice as could be, including asking about dietary restrictions they might need to accommodate for the home made breakfast (a fritata the first day, french toast the second). The rooms themselves are back away from the house in a separate structure, so we didn't have to worry about disturbing them when we relaxed in the hot tub right outside our room after enjoying a few glasses of the wine we'd picked up that day while wine tasting. They upgraded us to the private suite for free since no one else was staying in the other two rooms at the time. The entire place was very clean and equipped with all modern appliances, while still having a beautiful rustic feel with all the wooden paneling and beams. The guest rooms are build right next to a small creek, along with a small sitting dock and rock alcove for some great opportunities for bird watching. We also had access to a beautiful field and a locker full of sports equipment (badminton, softball, baseball, soccer, golf clubs). We were initially a little hesitant since the farm is about 2km north of the center of town. But in the evening, we were sold upon getting in the hot tub and looking up to a sky bursting with stars. I would recommend this place without reservation. It was an amazing place.

Richard is a terrific host - and not only gave us terrific dinner recommendations, but called and got us reservations and wonderful tables on the terraces. Breakfast is sumptuous, omelettes made to order, or try a breakfast pizza for a change of pace. Toasts of different breads and croissants, butter and a variety of jams (the pear ginger marmalade was very nice). The location is north of Osoyoos - making Oliver a very quick drive. If you enjoy wine tasting as we do, it's a perfect jumping off spot for the southern Okanagan.

It was spacious and had a hot tub. The cabin was perfect for a nice time with my wife and I to get away and really relax. Cabin 14 was a nice cabin too. We stayed in this one our second night. No hot tub with this one but still very nice. The breakfast was great. The food options were diverse and tasty. Kendra personally offered to make us some terrific scrambled eggs because of my limited diet. I totally recommend this place if you want a great escape from the chaos that life sometimes throws at us.

Etc.) didn't work but it wasn't a huge issue because it wasn't too cold and you're in nature - why need a TV? * Breakfast is homemade and they say it's from 8 - 9:30 AM but really all the food is gone around 9. Again, not really an issue for us since we didn't really eat the breakfast. Good coffee though :)
