The washrooms look like no ones attended them in years. We had to walk past a junk yard to get to the beach . The beach was nice to look at from afar, but once on it all you could smell dog waste products. Even with a dog beach , that was nice to see a plus for me not sure if the dog beach was dogs or people as dogs ran around free. The office closed and hard to get information. Trucks and cars going way to fast on the blind road ways I worried for my children. The traffic sound was deafening 24/7 crazy loud. Will I go back? not to stay but to visit as we met some very sweet people. Would I recommend Summerland RV park NO.

We hadn't booked any…read morecampsites (bad idea on the long weekend, I know!) and were looking for a place to stay on the last two nights we would be spending in the Okanagan. We came to this site and you can imagine our excitement when we drove by and saw that there were several empty spaces and even a big red tent set up at one of the sites. We went to the office, which was closed and saw posted on the door a sign stating that we should find a spot, fill out an envelope with our information and chosen spot and drop it in the mailbox with the appropriate amount of money. We spent about ten minutes looking at the campsite map and chose a spot with water and no power right on the water - as the six of us were tenting. We drove to the spot, slowly through the sites, passing who we found out later was the caretaker of the park - and checked out our space. Not entirely sure whether it was really a spot and not wanting to get into trouble for setting up in the wrong place, we went back to the main office (still unattended) to double-check the map and grab the envelope. We made sure that there was in fact a tenting option - on the envelope there were several boxes with different options and TENT beside one in capital letters. Satisfied, we went back to our space and started setting up. About an hour later a blonde, middle-aged woman comes bouldering towards us and begins screaming that we trespassed on her private property. Please note that we had set up FOUR tents and emptied both cars, spoken with a bunch of RV neighbors (who all told us to make ourselves comfortable) in the time it took the caretaker to notice we were there. We are all young professionals in our mid-twenties (university educated engineers, a member of the Canadian Army, graphic designer and I myself am on my way to becoming a teacher) but by the way she was "speaking" to us, if you can call it that, I assume she thought we were some crazy, young partiers there to wreak havoc on her peaceful RV park. Shocked, embarrassed and caught off guard, we all stayed relatively silent during her rant... Which was more like a verbally abusive lashing about how we had snuck in when she was "only gone for 20 minutes" and were hiding from her (hiding in plain sight with four large tents right beside the beach... riiiiight...). Then she threatened to call the cops if we weren't gone in ten minutes. After she left we began packing up. Fifteen minutes later we had everything loaded back in our cars and were about to leave (we are extremely fast at disassembling our campsite, apparently!). The unprofessional woman came back around, obviously surprised we were all packed up, and gave us a smug apology but continued to emphasize our "sneaking in". Fed up with her accusations, ignorance and lack of compassion, I spoke up and apologized, saying we weren't there to make trouble but asked that she handle herself with a little more grace and tact in future situations like this... She drove off instantly, clearly offended and hopefully embarrassed that someone a third of her age was more composed and dignified than herself. I will never return to this campsite as I felt we were treated unfairly based on our age, which is extremely discriminatory. I hope no one else has a bad experience with the unhappy RV park lady. My father is furious with her actions and will be calling her to talk about the way she apporached our group and berated us in front of all the other people. Maybe she will see how terrible she really was hearing it from someone her own age. Beautiful site despite it being quite loud beside the the highway, but appalling customer service. I don't think I can stress that enough. And RV lady, if you're reading this, you should be ashamed. Imagine if your kids accidentally landed themselves in a similar situation. Horrible customer service!

Dangerous power grid and narcissistic owners who don't stand behind it…read more The ownership of this campground is dismissive about problems within their inadequate RV power grid, and was sleazy about not refunding us for replacing the $179 CAD power it melted, or their inability to run our ~13amp A/C unit due to the insufficient power during the heat. During July 2024, RV stall C-1 couldn't deliver more 98-104 volts of power. We met with staff at South Beach Gardens about power problems we experienced for the duration of our 4-5 night stay in stall C-1. During the entire stay, the voltage was inadequate and unsafe for most appliances, and my Power Watch Dog (a device that protects the RV from poor park power conditions) routinely disconnected from park power due to inadequate voltage falling below 104v. Healthy park voltage should always be 115 to 120 volts. Instead of consistently being 115 to 120 V, the park power was only 100 to 107 V when pulling 14-16A. If I attempted to pull more amps than 14-15a, the voltage would sag to 98 V or so. We could never get anywhere near 30a amps of power which meant we could run appliances including A/C. At the end of our trip, we discovered that the receptacle had also melted our 30 amp to 30 amp cord. The cable was no longer safe to use. At the advice of the campground's maintenance technicians, we went to Leisureland RV Centre and bought a replacement cable at a cost of $179.20 CAD. I've attached photographs of both our melted cable plug, which is no longer safe to use, and the melted park receptacle in C1. I have also attached a photograph of the receipt for the replacement cord. South Beach Gardens brushed us off for both the damage their power grid caused us, and the the fact that we couldn't run A/C and appliances off their grid. This was also the first park where we were promised 30 amps, but were only able to pull about 14 amps before the voltage sag became too great for the Power Watch Dog safety device to permit electricity to pass into our RV. I was incredibly let-down by the narcissistic response on email by the owner. We will not be back and would advise others to be extremely vigilant about the problematic power grid here. Use a Power Watch Dog or similar device to protect yourself during voltage brownouts during hot weather, and don't assume you'll be able to run you A/C or appliances during the day. In July, voltage was only normalized well after sundown.

We apologies for losing track of time and asked her to give us 20 more mins. She came back in 20 mins and started yelling us and threaten us to call copes. I did not understand that she wanted to call copes because we were 20 mins late and we missed keeping two things in the car with in 20 mins. She asked us to leave the camp ground NOW!!!. Because she was losing patience on us. I am not sure we would like to ever go there. If you would like to enjoy and relax, I would prefer a private camp ground over this .We have been camping from ages and we never experienced such a ruthless and rude host. I recommend not to camp at this location and after reading others comments that it is not only us but she misbehaved with other campers too. I looked in the camp polices, there is no quotation which says that you have to be out by 11:00 PM or we are condemning any law and are allowed to threaten to call copes on us. There are so many rights in favor of rangers but none in favors of campers, which support that if host are rude and threaten unnecessary then where to report them. I am not sure how long this insults be done and heard by the host and no action being taken against her. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserReviews-g947970-d6436712-r415386727-Okanagan_Falls_Provincial_Park-Okanagan_Falls_Okanagan_Valley_British_Columbia.html#

WC's always dirty. 2- Very out dated and likely does not comply with current building code.(Possible safety concern) 3- Be prepared to be charged for every little thing and twice the going rates. (Nickel and Dime) 4- Very cramped site.(Shove then in and take your money) 5- Staff unfriendly and rude. 6- RULES and more RULES. If you like rules; Lots and lots of them, then this is the site for you. WOW I think this is governance gone crazy. Don't shower too long, don't use too much water, don't walk here, not this type of dog, don't, don't, don't, don't.....etc. All I can say is wow, who needs a new mommy or daddy to tell you what you can and cannot do- all the time. I think we paid for the use of water and if people are waiting too long for a shower maybe it's because you do not have enough (Build more). We did pay more than a reasonable rate and oh yes you crammed us in like sardines. 7- Rude staff (Very) 8- They take your money and then...... I do not suggest bringing dogs to this site. Not dog friendly at all. No beach access for dogs. ANOTHER RULE: Dogs cannot be left at campsite BUT they cannot go to the beach hmmm. So what should an owner do? Bias against many breeds of dogs. I do not recommend. Do your homework and I suggest spending your hard earned dollars somewhere else, where they will appreciate you as a customer. If you need a new mommy or daddy and want more rules then this is the place for you. Contest: see if you can count all the RULES as you walk around this place (Bring a thick note pad) RULE for Todds RV and Camping: Build more washrooms and treat us like paying customers who you care about.
