Dropped off a few pants a few months ago for tailoring and had no issues with pricing or work done with the actual tailor being there. Today I go in with more pants and the man (not tailor) pins my pants and then I ask him how much is the cost for each pant. I asked politely why is the cost much more than 3 mths ago when I got my other pants hemmed and he was very rude and said "you can take to another store". I said I will and walked out. They may be charging equivalent to what other tailors do, but the rudeness and attitude of the man deterred me from giving him my business when I asked a polite question. I believe he is the owner of the store. There was no air condition in the store and the man was smoking outside. No thanks don't want my clothes to smell like smoke and the rudeness of the man was ridiculous. read more

I have been using OK cleaners for over 2 years now, since I moved into the neighborhood. They're super reliable - they pick up from my building concierge and return it back on a timely basis. I had one light grey wool blazer and white trench boat that had many stains that accumulated over a few years and I put colored tape on the stain spots and I was impressed with how they were able to get it off. Unfortunately, when the cleaning facility that OK cleaners used burned down, I lost a pair of pants and a blazer. It wasn't OK cleaner's fault and luckily those items were not expensive. The owner, very nice old man by the way, offered free dry cleaning for my next order and used the company's insurance to claim for my lost items. They were inexpensive so I didn't bother with the insurance claim. I recently moved and need to update my address but I'm still in the neighborhood so I will continue to use OK cleaners. read more

***DRY CLEANING HERE RUINED MY JACKET*** Look the man who owns this place is very nice and I truly try to not leave bad reviews often but they completely destroyed my coat and that is something I would've preferred to avoid. I have one nice / very expensive coat that was a Christmas gift from my parents. I've never had it cleaned before until now. Of course I brought it to a dry cleaner to avoid ya know - shrinking, fading and wearing out the leather detailing and adjustment strings. The coat came back looking like somebody had worn it for the two weeks, ran it over with a car, threw it into a regular washer / dryer and then sold it back to me for $23 (they did refund me FYI). It has so much dryer fade and shrinkage on it they had to have used one. The jacket is two sizes smaller than when I brought it in, the material is all soft and worn (it was stiff before) the color is faded by two shades and worn out on the corners and pockets - all the strings are fluffy and weird and the leather detailing was not protected (it shows). On top of that they RIPPED THE VELCRO HALF OFF on the hood. Like this jacket came in mildly dirty but in excellent crisp condition and came back like it was in a boxing match (that it lost, badly). I literally can't believe it. I've never in my life has this bad of an experience with a dry cleaner. I know the store sends it out to a factory but they are responsible for the vendors they choose to work with and trust with your items. Needless to say I will never come back here. If you need to get your dry cleaning done I would suggest tossing in the east river and then fishing it out a week later before coming to this place, it certainly will be cheaper and likely have less damage. read more

You'll notice that most of the positive reviews are over a year old. The previous owner was great and we had no problems for over 9 years. Now it's under new ownership and we have had several issues in the last few months. Clothes not coming back clean and having to be redone, tailoring jobs coming back with shoddy work. The most egregious issue is that we dropped off a tie to be dry cleaned and it came back misshapen, with holes and still had the stain! I spoke with the owner several times over 2 months and she kept saying she had to talk to the factory where they did the work to see what happened and would call me back. After my 8th visit, she still hadn't talked to the factory so I asked for a credit for future drycleaning. She offered $20 for a $340 Prada tie -wtf??!!! She claimed we dropped off an old tie that was already in bad shape. She also claimed she told us that they didn't think the stain would come out when we dropped off the tie. That's impossible because we use the pick up and drop off service so we don't have to go in person so when would they have told us this?! No one called to tell me either. The new owner is really dishonest and didn't do anything to fix the issue that her business caused. After 10+ years I will be changing cleaners. read more

Excellent neighborhood laundry, dry cleaning, and alterations. Outstanding price, clothes always come back perfectly folded (and when you both travel a lot, bring able to drop fresh pre-folded laundry into a suitcase is awesome). Dry cleaning and pressing on shirts and specialty items is inexpensive and well done. In by 9, ready by 5 every time. And even with the excellent service and pricing, the owner won our business permanently when he saw my fiancé walking down the street with laundry by herself one day, and came down the street to meet her and carry it himself. Got brown permanent hair color out of my white shirt. This is normally an impossible feat. I couldn't believe it, they are the best! Just updating this review, because they are still the best!!! I took on a project that I didn't have time for, (which included making/sewing fabric banners) and I took it to them a day before I needed it done in desperation. They handled this weird request perfectly, and didn't charge me and arm and a leg for it. Also it's wonderful to just have your card on file and just be able to drop off and pick up with ease. Prices are pretty decent here, and other dry-cleaners in the area really can't deliver the same quality - I have yet to find any remaining stains or crinkles after picking up my clothes. read more

This is by far the best dry cleaner I've seen in the city! My shirts come back crisp, bright and well starched. But what makes this place very special and precious is the person who performs the alterations - extremely talented and precise. She fixes my suits, shirts and even old jeans to perfection! I send my laundry here and like the detergent they use, it's not too strong and just smells clean and fresh. The price is reasonable (@ $1 per lb) the staff is friendly and my daughter loves going b/c they give her a dum dum lollipop. read more

I'm definitely not the type to write a review for a dry cleaner, but this place is ridiculous. Ridiculously fast, that is - I sometimes imagine that I am their only customer. I'll drop a bag of clothes off and it will be back at my apartment in 3-4 hours...not always, sometimes it will be the next day, but often enough. Prices are the same as any other dry cleaner, not paying extra for expedited service. And the one time I had an issue with a shirt, they re-did it, no questions asked. Due to the good reviews of its kind in the neighborhood, I've been using its dry cleaning services sparingly for the last several months ever since I moved in to town. However, I've come to realize again that the finish isn't so good. Suits don't come back crisp clean. At times, there is still lint, dirt, or some kind of remnant. They don't smell clean either. I also noticed a price increase ever since the last time I used its services without any notice. Like another dry cleaner in the neighborhood, it's relatively priced high. On the flip side-- they are usually quick, and they do have delivery service. I usually don't write reviews, but seeing the high average reviews- I was prompted to do one as it didn't seem accurate. It makes me realize the dry cleaners in my old neighborhood weren't that bad after all where the clothing was cleaner and the prices were cheaper. read more

Have been using OK for almost a year. They've ruined a handful of shirts, but because of convenience we didn't leave. This week, they tore a hole in my husbands shirt and CHARGED US for cleaning the shirt. When my husband went in to confront them, he was told that the shirt arrived torn (false) and that they didn't charge us (also false). After proving that they did, in fact, charge us, he refunded us the $2 begrudgingly. Needless to say, we will be finding another cleaner in the area. read more

Incredibly fast, reliable and efficient service. I gave this place $1000 worth of dry cleaning and laundry because of a terrible bug infestation in the apartment. They came to my door minutes after I made the call for pick up and dry cleaned and laundered all of the items within 48 hours! Daniel also was kind enough to extend a 20% discount on all items (though I am not a new customer) and did not charge extra for any sequined items. He additionally darned all the holes in my sweaters, fixed my missing buttons and broken zippers for free. Best seamstress and dry cleaner in LIC. I have a dry cleaning service in my building, but I walk my laundry to OK cleaners instead. Their seamstress has done everything from my suit jackets and pants to silk blouses, and consistently does a wonderful job. Prices are very reasonable. read more
