I didn't catch the technicians name but she was young and very gentle. Even though I was just getting a basic pedicure, she still used a sugar scrub to exfoliate my calves and massaged my feet. I can only imagine how much more pampering their other pedicures are. I also appreciated the fact that the cutting tools were all in a sterile pack. My manicure was done at a table by Lily. I got solar nails for the first time, and she recommended getting the gel polish with them. Even though part of the process uses a dremel, she was very gentle and proficient. She also made sure I was happy with the nail length and shape every step of the way. It took 3 tries to get a color I was happy with, and she was perfectly patient with me. I wanted to get pretty nails before celebrating my 50th birthday this week, and thanks to Joe's Nails, I have them.

It wasn't well-painted, some of the nails showed, and it chipped easily. I liked the location and how clean it was, so I gave it another try. (Can't say I minded the free glass of wine, either!) The second time, I was greeted by a very smiley, happy, nice greeter (maybe the owner/boss). When I said I wanted a basic spa pedi, she joyfully tried to upsell me to a higher priced pedicure. When I declined, her face went straight from smiling to frowning, and she pointed to the colors, and grumpily said to choose a color, then ditched me. I was not impressed with her fakey fakiness. I am a paying customer, so don't be rude if I don't let you upsell me. UCK! The pedicurist was better that time, but it still didn't last as long as at other places. I felt like there was a lot of stress /anxiety among the workers, too. Poorly managed, didn't feel ethical.

The staff is always friendly and welcoming. However, the star of the show, for me, is Phong. I've been going to him for 5 years now, and he's a master of his craft. I've included some of my favorite sets he's done on me. Everything he does is hand-painted, done with patience and attention to every small detail. He always knows what I want and works with the ideas I bring in. Parking can be a bit difficult at times due to nearby businesses (a children's play center and a Thai restaurant), so plan for that, as weekends tend to be busier. One last amazing thing: you can text to schedule another appointment. It's so convenient. Golden Nail is the best!

The lady at the front desk told me I'd be good to come back in an hour. So, I did. When I came back, it turns out I wasn't even put on the books, but the other lady at the front desk recognized me so I thought we were all good. I was sat down where I waited about 15 minutes. It made sense, since it looked like every tech was busy with a client, but I was somewhat treated like I had an appointment so I was a bit confused as to why I was even told to come back in an hour if no one would be available to serve me. Eventually, the young lady at the front desk actually jumped in and started the process of removing my old acrylics. I'm not even sure if she's trained for that, but I feel bad that she was doing something that was probably not in her job description. After she worked a little on my nails, a nail tech ended up finishing the job for her. Unfortunately, the job done was pretty poor. My fingers and nails had turned white from soaking in acetone for so long, and I could tell that the nail tech left behind acrylic polymer on my nails (which I literally just peeled off myself). My nails were also cut and left with sharp edges that I had to fix myself. Not to be cheap, but the end result was definitely not worth $15. Luckily, I only went here to make my nails go back to looking grubby, and not to have them done for a special occasion. I slightly fear what the outcome would've been had they actually done my nails. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.
