This was another spot we tried last Sunday. We walked by this place and the line was out the door! We came back around some time later and the line was better. I can see why it's so popular. The ice cream is very creamy and rich.... not overly sweet. I had a chocolate vegan option and my boyfriend had the pistacho. We sat down to enjoy our dessert, so yummy! The server was very patient and helpful. The establishment is very colorful. They have a small seating area inside. Definitely recommend trying this place!
Had unique flavors with their orange one being a fan fav. They offer a max of 3 flavor samples per person. Ended up picking heavenly honey flavor cuz it had a nice caramel/toffee like taste. Waffle cone is a $1.50 add on and a bit stale so prob a pass next time. Single scope was $6.50.
I stopped by Ojai Ice Cream on a whim whilst in town with my family! Since I had never been before, making a decision on which flavor to choose was naturally difficult. However, they had free tastings which made it easier! I ended up opting for the honeycomb crunch. As soon as we paid, my family and I walked around Ojai whilst enjoying the ice cream. It was soooo good. The ice cream was creamy and adorned with crunchy bits of honeycomb. It wasn't too sweet and was gone all too quickly. Overall, Ojai Ice Cream was a quick but delicious visit. It's right in the middle of town which makes for an easy stop whilst in Ojai. Definitely give it a go if you're in the mood for a sweet treat!

The shop was cute and charming with classic tiles flooring, white subway tile walls, and retro soda fountain pharmacy lighting. Although the line was 20 deep, it moved rather quickly. The staff was friendly. I sampled a few yummy flavors like the Valley Lavender and the Ojai Orange...but what I was really craving after dinner was an affogato. The freshly brewed double shot of espresso matched perfectly with the Raspberry Chocolate ice cream with yummy chunks of chocolate pieces. Looking forward to enjoying other flavors on my next visit.
Ojai Ice Cream is a charming little spot right in the heart of downtown Ojai -- the perfect place to stop after a meal or while strolling through town. We tried the toffee coconut and triple chocolate flavors, and both were exceptional -- rich and flavorful without being overly sweet or heavy. It totally hit the spot after some pizza nearby. A classic, old-school ice cream shop with great flavors and a relaxed, small-town feel. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Ojai.
Whooooooaaaa! My friend and I cannot stop raving about this place! From the great customer service to the delicious ice cream. We each got a cone and enjoyed it at Libbey Park. They're super busy with a line out the door but it moves fast. You can taste as many flavors as you want . Love that and they're so patient too , request after request ;) Cute decor. I loved the pop of orange.
The line was LONG when we came in! It took some time to be helped. Our kids really enjoyed the ice cream. I did see the side of the tub labeled "Thrifty" ice cream. I found this interesting. But they did have their specialty ice creams that they make there, and those are very yummy. Especially the peanut butter one!!
This place had such a variety of flavors, and they were patient with us sampling some flavors that we only saw there. We got the orange sorbet and the choco PB mash and it was an amazing combo! Almost like an orange/dark chocolate Lindt bar.
Food - Devine desert of Ice cream with unique flavors that knock your socks off! Let me tell ya, this concoction is on point! Probably the one of the best if not the best ice cream I've had in a while. So much so that I would make a trip to Ojai just to grab one and I am about 3 hours away! Lov the toffee Oreos and cherry ice cream. They also sell coffee and afogato. Wish they had this near where I live so I can totally get this! Service was good as well! Ambiance - it was a good and reminds me of a proper ice cream spot! Verdict - if it's not clear yet, you're a putz!
This was literally the best stop we made on mother's Day we were in town and we decided to try Ojai ice cream a try it was delicious the line was long but it went by pretty fast I highly recommend the tangerine sorbet it is so fresh and so cold and nice on a hot day also the chocolate was amazing and they have toppings as well highly recommend they have merchandise to you can buy the service was great and the staff were very friendly highly recommend

After a fun morning at Foster Park in Ventura with friends, we decided to keep the fun going and head over to Ojai for an afternoon adventure. Of course it was lunch time so after walking down Ojai Ave. and grabbing lunch at Ojai Pizza Company (be sure to check out my review), what's the best thing to do after lunch, on a beautiful spring day..... Well, Ice Cream of course!!! You really think my kids are gonna say no to Ice Cream?? Yeah, what kid would. Well after walking in to this quaint little ice cream shop, I immediately realized we weren't the only ones that's got them memo. There were multiple sets of parents alongside their own kids, all standing in line for an ice cold, sweet treat. Of course, like any ice cream shop you might find yourself in, they are going to have the classic, signature flavors that we all know. The Vanilla... The Chocolate... The Strawberry... The Rocky Road... The Cookies & Cream... And of course a Rainbow Sherbet. But when you come to a one-off, we'll call it specialty Ice Cream shop, there is always the hope that you wil come across a fun, new, maybe never thought of or imagined flavor.... Well Ojai Ice Cream.... Congrats, you did it!!! A few of the fun flavors that caught my eye.... Orange Honey Comb Espresso Oreo Rum Raisin Heavenly Honey Crunch Ojai Orange (hence their official orange monster mascot) Just to name a few. For those of you with allergies or dietary restrictions.... Many of the flavors are GF or Vegan and some are even made with Soy. Ojai Ice Cream has been doing their thing since 1979, that's 47 years!! And I know cause I counted on my fingers like a 5 year old...haha, so it's no wonder they have this sweet treat thing down pat. Ojai Ice Cream is the perfect way to end a hot day walking around the town! Good AC and a clean, well-kept kitchen. There is some indoor seating but there's plenty of seating outside (I enjoyed mine in Libbey Park!). The staff are super helpful in picking/testing flavors. Speaking of which, there are a TON of different flavors and cool drinks to try. I chose a double-scoop of Honey Lavender flavor, while my friend got a single-scoop of Bubblegum. 10/10 recommend!!! read more

First time trying this ice cream and went with their most famous flavor, Ojai orange. I had a sample and surprisingly did not taste like a sorbet at all. It definitely had a unique taste that I've never had before. Perfect balance of orange, cream and sweetness. Had it in a waffle cone with a scoop of cookies and cream as well. If you are in Ojai, definitely stop by and try their Ojai orange ice cream. It is worth trying. read more

Pretty good ice cream. I think it's popular amongst folks that visit Ojai as well. Interesting flavors but also has some classics as well as a lot of gluten free flavors. I guiltily got the coffee and oreo one which I didn't think it would taste that good, but it beat my expectations. Kinda just tasted like cookies n cream, but instead of vanilla, it's coffee. So it imparts some type of bitterness. Overall super sweet, but good texture and taste. read more

Finally made it into Ojai Ice Cream when visiting friends who live in nearby Oak View. The shop itself has a beautiful aesthetic and there were many interesting flavors to try. The portions were generous and they were also happy to provide samples of any flavors I wanted to try. I really enjoyed the topa topa toffee with coconut and the mango raspberry sugar cookie flavors! read more

Took a walk in Ojai after stopping in for dinner on our way home from the coast. Stumbling upon ojai ice cream shop and couldn't resist. Pretty busy for a Sunday night and settled for chocolate and cookie dough ice cream. Enjoyed our ice cream for the remainder of our walk and it was good ice cream, nothing too crazy exciting just simple homemade ice cream. A tad expensive. Service was quick but not much engagement. I'd give 3.5 stars. read more
Probably the best ice cream in Ojai (better than the one behind the Arcade whose name I forgot.) My matcha shake was so light and refreshing! My friend also loved her ice cream. Good to see the new owner continue the old ice cream shop's winning recipe. read more

It's your typical ice creamery, but ice cream never misses. Ojai Ice Cream has a cute vibrant interior with bright orange colors, but the only seating is a few benches along the window. However, this is not a problem because you can just take your ice cream across the street to enjoy a little picnic at Libbey Park. They have an extensive menu, but the workers are very friendly, so don't be afraid to ask for samples if you're feeling indecisive. If you come here, definitely try the Ojai Orange flavor. It tastes like an orange creamsicle, but better. So refreshing! I also returned later that day to try the Heavenly Honey Crunch, which definitely lives up to its name. The crunchy bits of caramel (?) in the sticky sweet ice cream was heavenly. The vanilla notes paired well with the waffle cone. This flavor might be too sweet for some though. read more

If you're tired of shopping or walking, why don't you stop by this ice cream shop? This cute ice cream shop is located in Downtown Ojai, they make their ice cream on-site using a traditional Italian ice cream machine. Inside shop is small but they have many selections of ice cream, and also they are serving coffee drinks. The shop also sells original goods such as t-shirts, and I bought a sweatshirt. There is no place to eat inside the store, but there are some benches outside the store. I think this is an ice cream shop that everyone from children to adults can enjoy. read more

Delicious handmade ice cream! You can ask for free samples. I love the espresso oreo ice cream, it had chunks of crushed oreo cookies mixed with coffee ice cream. My husband is lactose intolerant so he got the blood orange sorbet. It had an icy texture with fresh fruit flavor. They have stools & benches inside and outside their shop. read more
Stopped by for some ice cream after lunch and it was packed! Even though they were busy, the staff still took the time to explain flavors and give out samples. I ended up getting a single scoop of the Valley Honey Lavender. They're pretty generous with their portions! read more
Stopped by for a late night sweet treat and it was a perfect experience. There was no wait at all on a Saturday night and the employees were patient while I was tasting a few samples. I ended up ordering a Kids' Scoop of the Espresso Oreo flavor and it was so yummy. There's a very small seating area and no tables, but we were able to sit down. There's a park across the street that is super cute to sit down at if the seating is limited. Even though it's on the main strip in town, parking is still easy to find on any neighboring streets a quick walk away. read more

Stopped by with a craving for something sweet. The employee immediately paused her Halloween decorating to assist me. I tried two flavors and was happy to find out they do half flavors! I was a little disappointed that I wasn't asked cone or cup, especially since the cones looked so good. I paid $6 for 1 scoop, half butter pecan and the other half strawberry. They have many ice cream flavors and even free stickers that say Ojai Ice Cream. I'd come back just to try it in a cone. read more
Such a cute ice cream shop! I got one scoop of the Honey Lavender and it was very creamy and soft. It was sweet but not too sweet. The wonderful lady who was serving was super helpful and friendly! She herself created a good environment for all. The interior is nicely decorated and definitely good for social media photos. The music choice creates a happier climate too! read more
