for the very first time I step inside this place I had an unpleasant experience. I waited for more than 20 minutes till I ask to be seated while I wait. The front desk girl is clueless. the place smell like mold and old furniture, it looks old and dark like you walk into a thrift store. I'm sharing this review to be transparent for future clients. I left a pair of sunglasses at the spa and informed them that I would return to pick them up after I had recurve a call or text that I had left them behind. As I was traveling for a few weeks. When I finally had a chance to stop by I was face with disregard, then I finally called since I didn't hear from the owner about a month later, I was told they had been discarded. Unfortunately, there was no notice given, and the conversation felt more argumentative than understanding. These sunglasses were sentimental to me, and while I understand that businesses may have policies, I was disappointed by the lack of care and communication around a client's personal belongings. This experience affected my trust and overall impression of customer care. A month is not enough to trow customer belongings away without calling them first and assuring that they'll stop by to pick them up and assume that they'll just be forgotten. This is not so much about the sentimental value of the sunglasses but about being respected and treated with dignity. I hate to have to leave a bad review for them as is sometimes I almost never like to do but given her mannerism and demeanor I cat let this happen to another person and to our community. read more

I have been coming to have lash extensions on my wimpy lashes for several months now. Plenty of time has passed to give a honest review. My lashes look great!!! They Easily last three weeks+! I have had several lash artists at Ojai+Fox Spa including Summer. All have been amazing and listen to what i want plus they cater the lashes to my personal eye shape. Having the lash extensions make me feel better about myself while also cut down on my makeup time. In fact, i can run out without any makeup if i choose to! I also love not having to try and find a mascara that works well to enhance my lashes and doesn't run down my face if i exercise and sweat. It is also very relaxing even though you wouldn't think so. Girls quick getaway weekend! It was my sisters bday and wanted to treat her to her first massage ever. Could not be more happy with Ojai + Fox. During the reservation process, they had to rearrange things so we could all get appointments together. Their communication was great! I wanted and was ready to like this place! I saw all the glowing reviews, and although Patricia wasn't available, who many of the glowing reviews are about, I sought out another masseuse who was available and people seemed to like. At the start, i got kind of weird vibes from the woman who took me to the back (like sort of a "what are you doing here" vibe) but it was fine, no problem. She says I can have some tea...but I don't see any cups? And to be honest, the mugs I do see look like they're being sold the way they were laid out, so I skipped the tea. My masseuse was super nice, asked if I had any issues. I let her know and we started the massage. And it was pretty light? But she never once asked if the pressure was good so. I also felt weird asking her to do more: I don't know, maybe this is just how her massage is? I just felt like I got slightly squeezed but didn't have a feeling of "woah that was a good massage". She also mentioned she would do a face/scalp massage which never happened. It just wasn't a massage I felt better after, so probably would go somewhere else next time, or with Patricia maybe. read more

Do not give these people your credit card number! They will charge you for no reason. This is called stealing! They claimed I made an appointment when I did not! Then when I missed this fake appointment (which they sent no reminders for) they charged me with out a phone call or any attempt to contact me whatsoever. They literally set me up. I talked to a receptionist who said they owner would call me, she never did. My credit card information was stored and used without my authorization. Yes I entered my credit card information for my daughters first appointment but I did not expect them to hold onto it and use it without any notification what so ever. I don't ordinarily write bad reviews for people but I am in shock that this is suppose to be a place of healing and relaxation. I feel so mistreated and disrespected. I came in for halotherapy. It wasn't what I expected as it's a tiny chamber with barely any salt coming out and it wasn't helping me feel better at all as I was having a rough day health wise. It was unlike what I have experienced at Sauna Studio in Ventura which is wonderful and feels like a full experience of cleansing and receiving minerals. I was in there for 10 minutes out of 20, (in Ventura it's 45 minutes), and requested to either do cryotherapy instead or receive a refund. I walked up to the front desk and was very kind with my request. Two woman were standing there. I was met with an aggressive energy and was told I definitely cannot have a refund or receive another service I'm happier with. I was escorted back to the salt chamber and somewhat forced to go back in and finish, and was told that it works fine. I sat there sad and crying, felt incredibly unsafe, and ended up paying because I was scared. I later left a message that wasn't the kindest but it also wasn't mean. I simply mentioned my need for a refund or I'll need to say something here. It's not my usual way of handling things but what I experienced was so unkind. No one called me back. I took space for about 3 months and let go of the situation. I use to see Carissa regularly for my brows (who I have a great relationship with) so I did wonder if this relationship would end because of this situation. After some time I thought maybe they would be open to resolving things. I was told that I cannot have access to Carissa anymore and I need to find another business to go to. So that's the vibe of this place. They are not about the customer, mature conflict resolution, or about having empathy or understanding. I'm one of the kindest people and my request was minimal. I hope that anyone else who has a feeling or need in there isn't mistreated like I was. Sorry Carissa, love to you and I think you should work elsewhere as you're so talented and your clients should be supported. read more

This review is LONG over due. I was granted an amazing trip to Ojai for young adult caner patients. I took a friend with me who never gets pampered and would totally appreciate the trip. One of the gifts was given to us was for Summer Dawns 60 min full body massage. Now I have had massages before and honestly I could never fully relax or enjoy it like most can. I feel trapped and uncomfortable and almost excited when its over. However here OMG best massage ever. My friend who is the same as me, she can't fully relax with massages and never gets them. She was seem by the owner and I forget the girl that helped me but she was a younger girl. She made me feel totally comfortable. I've had services like this before with younger people and honestly I typically prefer someone my age or older. Young people can kinda be jerks sometimes hahaha but she was not at all. She made me feel super comfy and best massage ever. Oh wait I already said that. But instead of me looking forward to the strangers hands all in my fat, I was shocked when the time was up. It went by so fast. We both left feeling soooooo relaxed and almost high lol Oh and to top it off the owners daughter was there and the cutest damn thing. She was her little sales girl. It was just a very warm and comfortable healing environment. I pick up on energy as I am an energy worker and I felt so at peace here. If I ever come back down south Im making an appointment.
