It has only had its oil changes at Valvoline. They tend to use impact tools to open and close the air filter and they stripped the bolts so over the years it has leaked dust into the intake and this dust slowly killed the engines compression. It came to me because it had a miss and Judy wanted to change the plugs. I removed the intake ductwork and chunks of packed dust fell in the throttle body that was entirely caked. I sprayed out the ductwork to see what comes out and it was a nasty muck. The engine lost cyl 7 by 30 pounds compared to the others. The others are way below average of other of the same engines available forsale from recycling yards by 20-50 pounds. Hers are 150-177 and used with the comparable miles are 190-230. Yet after I dealt Austin the manager at the last Valvoline Judy had her oil changed he said they would not fix because it had been low a few times when it has come in for it regular synthetic oil changed. Humm anyone ever take apart an engine that has sucked in dust. It destroys the oil control rings as well as the rings. It is really bad that I have to write this but I am happy my son no longer works there. I will be calling corporate again.

After paying Costco Tires $56 to install and program a new set of TPMS sensors in my 2009 Kia…read moreBorregeo, the TPMS warning light was still on. They told me I needed to drive the car for 15 minutes or more at 30mph or more in order to "reset" the TPMS error lights. So, I drove it on the freeway to Coeur d' Alene and back (40 miles each way) and the TPMS warning lights didn't reset. So, after a little research, I downloaded and printed the TPMS reset procedure from Kia, and took it back to Costco Tire. The procedure I downloaded said to scan the TPMS sensors and then connect the scanner to the OBDII port to upload the sensor ID's to the car's computer. The Costco "technician" brought out a scan tool and scanned all 4 of the new TPMS sensors. I looked at tool they were using, which didn't have an OBDII cable to connect it to the car's computer. I asked the "technician" how he was going to upload the new TPMS sensors RFID's to the car's computer and he gave me a blank "deer in the headlights" look. I explained that scanning the RFID's of the new sensors was only the first step in the process, and that in order for the car's computer to recognize the scanned RFID's for the new sensors, he had to somehow upload the scanned RFID's of the new sensors to the car's computer. I asked him how he was going to accomplish that if his scanner couldn't be connected to the car's computer. Again, I got a blank look and he said "I don't know... our scanner works with the brand of TPMS sensors we sell, and we program the sensors before we install them in the tires." FWIW, that answer makes NO sense. The scanner has to connect with the computer in the car SOMEHOW to upload the RFID's of the sensors, or the car's computer ISN'T going to recognize the signals it receives from the new sensors. I tried to explain this concept to the Costco Tire "technician" a couple of different ways, but he just wasn't "getting it". So, at that point I gave up on trying to educate the Costco Tire "technicians" on how TPMS system technology works. I decided it was a waste of time and I left Costco. On my way home I decided to stop by the Tire O Rama on Sprague. When I walked in, I asked Josh, the guy at the counter "Do you have a TPMS scanner that can connect to the OBDII port of my car to upload the scanned RFID's of a new set of TPMS sensors?" His reply was "we sure do". I explained the issue I had with Costco Tire and he said "hang on, let me grab my scanner". After he retrieved the TPMS scan tool, Josh and I walked out to my Borrego, and he scanned all 4 TPMS sensors in under 2 minutes, and then he connected the scan tool to the OBDII port of my car. He pushed a couple of buttons on the scan tool, and within about 3 - 4 minutes he had uploaded the RFID's of the new TPMS sensors to the car's computer and also cleared the TPMS error codes to make the TPMS warning lights go out. I was VERY impressed. Josh obviously understood how a TPMS system works and what it takes to fix TPMS error codes. When I asked Josh "what do I owe you?" he said, "nothing, don't worry about it". What an INCREDIBLE customer service experience! Josh was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Give that young man a raise! I can guarantee you that I will NEVER go back to Costco Tire. From now on Tire O Rama will be my "go to" for tires or tire-related work or repairs!

I have a F350 7.3L diesel truck that was having a slow crank issue, like the batteries were dead, I…read morereplaced both batteries and was still experiencing weak starting. After research I believed the issue was my starter, I stopped into the Bowdish location where I was recommended to go into the Sullivan location because they have the tool to have our starter tested. Once there we asked the service guy if that was a test they were able to perform. He said he was able to and pulled us into the bay, he let the rest of the workers know he was doing a starter test and grabbed the battery checker from the wall, my Fiancé reminded them that he didn't need the batteries checked just the starter, he continued to check the batteries. After checking both the batteries and the test coming back 100%, the guy tells us that it must be the alternator, and that we are only pulling from the batteries to start the truck. we asked how we have 100% charge if we drove it 6 miles and are only running off battery power. He never answered the question, but he advised us that they could do that alternator, we asked how much that was and he told us he was going inside to get the estimate from the printer. 5 or more minutes later he returns on the phone, and starts asking us questions about last oil change, last fuel filter change, everything except testing the starter as asked before we pulled in. After several calls to someone (we were told the owner/manager) we were told it is absolutely not the starter or the alternator, but that it would need fuel injectors and a new fuel pump. Over $1000 in repairs. We had already ordered the new starter; they were advising to return it. We installed the new starter today; the problem is fixed. The truck has no hesitation to start. These guys were trying to upsell me and weren't even looking at what I pulled into the shop for. They didn't run the test I needed. the person on the phone never heard the truck start. I will be returning to the shop tomorrow to see what they have to say. How can people trust you when you won't perform the test you say you are, and they try to repair stuff that isn't broken or even acting like a problem.
