I woke up this morning and thought, "You gotta change the oil in the mom car!" And like a modern mom miracle the check engine light went on as I drove to the office. I knew exactly what to do -- and headed straight to the Oil Changers on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley. Not only did DeVonte and Jimmy change the oil, but they swapped out the wiper blades, topped up all the fluids, AND helped me troubleshoot and solve the check engine issue. And seriously -- they even got all of my jokes and offered up a couple of their own. Five stars! read more

It's Like I told the guys while they were working on my car: this place is a well-oiled machine. Teehee. But seriously, great experience! A group of nice guys, hard-working, no bullshit, will getcha in and out in no time. You stay in your car while they work. They check your headlights, high beams, signal lights, reverse lights, brake lights, and wash your windows. The atmosphere is fun but focused. They're joshing around with each other but taking care of business. Makes me want to come back and spend my money here, which I will. read more

Despite all outward appearances of being a competent adult, I tend to resist getting an oil change until it's practically dangerous to be driving my reliable civic back and forth across the bay. I know, it's pathetic. So it was one of those days when I knew I was going on 6 months since my last oil change/transmission fluid change/oh the hood of the car opens? what?? and so I stopped here and got the most efficient and friendly oil change. While I was waiting I read all these bad yelp reviews (yikes!) but everything was fine. Decent price, no disasters, and my car seemed to run smoother afterwards (probably because it had oil & transmission fluid). And then I felt like this: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-is-why-ill-never-be-adult.html (change all the oil!) read more

These guys are awesome!!! Super quick and fast and check everything and free top offs!

The oil change technicians at this oil changers are super helpful and knowledgeable. The timing is pretty quick and they check all the fluids in the car to let you know what needs to be changed. Tire pressure check and the general window clean is nice. I would definitely recommend this oil changers station and I would definitely come back here! read more

I work throughout the work week by appts abd deadlines. This is perfect for me because I can drive up and enjoy the comfort of my car and have oil changed and my windows washed. Their prices are above average however I haven't had to ever wait longer than 10 minutes to pull my car in for service. I have been a few times and I haven't always been asked to spend more on misc services. At times they make recommendations but not forceful. If you check in right before you receive service you can get a cool $5 off coupon. Not sure If it depends on location. read more

Love these Guys! They do a quick oil change and they don't try to up-sell you a million things. Anytime they have recommended a new part they give me an explanation in layman's terms. I've actually learned a lot about my car that way. Also, did I mention they are open on Sundays. Can't beat that! read more

Excellent service from Shawn, Alton and ... Ah, I can't remember the name of the main guy helping me, but he was "the rookie" there, almost 90 days I heard, also very good. These guys run a tight and professional crew, always friendly. Prices seem reasonable, they offer the usual banter about air filters but they really don't pressure. I gotta say, on a side note, I hope the management knows how good Shawn is as a crew leader. I train teachers as part of my job, and I recognize that he is a natural at developing his people. True leadership, fun to watch. read more

I've been coming to these guys for over 2 years now. The people who work here are great, professional and thorough. Between oil changes I stop in and get free top offs and tire pressure checks. Treat yourself to a quality thorough oil change and great service that will have you coming back for more! read more

Quick service, nice guys, they didn't try to talk me into buying anything extra. I'll be back for my next oil change!

Great customer service. So quick I felt like I was never there at all. Rikki helped me he was so nice. I don't know how to change oil or check to see if it was done at all but I'm just going to have to trust them read more

So this seems weird to write about an oil change, but this was an oil change experience unlike any other. This was my first time getting my oil change here. Unlike other places I've had my oil changed in the past, you stay in your car the entire time. My very friendly mechanic showed me my current oil level, how dirty my air filter was is in case I wanted to replace it, and the leak on the bottom my skid plate from the last mechanic who did it wrong and stripped the screw (no extra charge for the fix). You can see what oil is going in, and chat with the actual service person looking at your car, not some guy at a front desk. This place exceeded my all my expectations for an oil change. read more

They was very fast and so priciest and very humors and cool place to get your oil change great prices as well

I've been going to corporate spots most of my driving career. Decided to give this place a shot when I realized I needed an oil change. So efficient, easy and friendly. In and out in less than 15 minutes. read more

Got some fab customer service from Roberto, got a $5 yelp coupon and he honored it. Our truck requires synthetic so it's rather expensive but after the oil change-i was happy with the service. Kudos to Roberto. read more

Pretty good for a Sunday morning. I expected it to be busy on a weekend morning. Pulled up at 11. They only have two bays, so bring a book. Waited 30 min. Got into a bay at 11:30. Paid up and pulling out at 11:42. Since my oil change only took 10 minutes, I don't know why I had to wait 30, but maybe the car in front of me had other services done? Nice guys, no upsell. Use the yelp coupon for 5 bucks off. Full price oil change is $41.99. With the coupon it's $36.99 plus the$3 oil surcharge. Bam. read more

Alten is super chill - fast, easy, got the job done, gave me options for pricing and such. I'll be back!

Getting the oil changed is a tedious chore no one wants to have to deal with... usually. I really like the staff at the Berkeley Oil Changers. They're straightforward about what's going on with your car, they don't try to up-sell, and they genuinely seem to care about the maintenance of my ancient, crappy car. & they never fail to make me smile. Thanks guys! See you again next time I'm 3000 miles overdue read more

Just got back from having my oil level checked at my favorite place to keep my car lubed. Shawn and his crew made sure my husband's car was ready for his big drive south tonight. In addition, they filled the tires. If that wasn't enough, I asked about a tip on where to get our car check out for a smog certification. They sent me two doors north to 7 Days a Week Smog. With that great referral, I received a $20 discount. Home run boys. Faithful Customer for 15 Years, Vivien read more

I love this place. Going to come here from now on in future. No line nd they changed my oil quickly and even let me slap my music while they worked on my car. We were all turnin up at the auto repair shop lol i even let dude take a few hits of my wax out my bong as a generous tip afterwards. wonderful place. Look forward to returning. read more

This is only a review for how Alton treated us when we had a flat tire and the diagnosis. We did not get an oil change here. My car had a very flat tire and since they were one of the only places open on a Sunday and they offered to fill my air for free, I ended up here. Alton was really nice and checked all 4 tires. He also knew immediately what was wrong with the flat (there nuzzle was broken). They could not fix the particular problem there, but he recommended another place that could fix it right up for cheap. I'm so glad Alton was working that day!! read more

Today I received the best service I can remember receiving at a quick change service place. It was my first time at this location and I will definitely be back. Alton Mclemore made sure my car received exactly what it needed. He also provided quality advice I will take to a more detailed mechanic. This was my best Oil Changers experience. So, this location is my new home. Thank you Alton and team! read more

Went for a oil change and the service was quick and the workers were very friendly. Will definitely go again.

Speedy and good work for a reasonable price in Berkeley. Could've explained that conventional means Synthetic Blend. Otherwise, they're a decent place. read more

These guys are the best. Genuine customer service (a lost art at most places) and even excluded the usual extra charges for complicated cars, saying: "I didn't want to embarrass you in front of your girlfriend, since you brought her here to make her safe!" I have also purchased a mutli-oil change card from them and tell everyone I know, make a trip to see these specific guys they are the real deal and will make you feel happy about your day, your car and about finding the perfect shop. He also remembered what car I drove even though I showed up with my gf's car - amazing, and genuine concern for their customers. read more

It's kind of funny (but true) to say that I actually *enjoy* getting my oil changed here. I've been going here for 5+ years and the service is consistently efficient, thorough, and friendly. I'm usually in and out within 30 minutes even if there is a line. They always mention an upsale service, but it never feels pushy. Also, I just recently called them to ask for a record of service (requested by my insurance company) and the gentleman on the phone was extremely helpful and patient while we got the situation figured out. He went above and beyond to make sure I got the everythingI needed. Thanks Berkeley Oil Changers! read more

The guys at the Oil Changers in Berkeley on San Pablo were all awesome. I originally came for a oil change on my truck a 2021 and the manager said he couldn't do it, come to find out because the oil cap was missing. Car dealer sold me the car with no oil cap on it SMDH ‍.... Luckily the manager was so awesome and saw I was a mom with kids and didn't want me to drive around like that. He informed me it was dangerous and not only that it would cause further damage to the car. I needed to get back home but he suggested I don't even drive like that. In the meantime he and his co-workers offered to locate the cap for me and at the nearest auto zone they needed up finding one for me. Took it upon himself to drive and pick it up for me!!! Unbelievable, talk about going above and beyond with customer service. I felt it was meant for me to go to this particular location because no one would have done that for me and sent me on my way. I'm grateful and feel blessed that they were extremely helpful and kind and not only cared about the safety of my family and I. You don't come across ppl like that these days. What a great team of young men who are dedicated workers and know how to give excellent customer service. I've worked in customer service for years and I can say that they exceeded my expectations. All were wonderful, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you NiaNasir read more
