Don't put your car into their hands. We have two cars and live close to the San Pablo Ave location. We've been taking both cars to this store to get oil changes. No more. The last time my oil was changed, within 15 min. of driving on the freeway, this acrid, black smoke started to come out through the vents. I had to pull over to the shoulder, because I couldn't breathe. Luckily, my husband picked me up and drove the car home, breathing through cloth. The smoking has stopped, but the vents give off a buzzing noise whenever the car is started and the clock on the dashboard stopped. My husband took the car to the Oil Change location to get it inspected. The manager listened nicely and promised to file a claim. He said we would get a call back within three to four business days. It's now been TWO WEEKS and we haven't heard back. I called the corporate office, talked to one sympathetic woman named Sue who worked for Accounts Receivable. Unfortunately, she's not customer service. I've left repeated voicemails for the customer service representative, Tony Campbell, to no avail. The receipt from Oil Changers says on the back that I void any claim of their responsibility for my car if I take it to a shop for inspection, without their prior approval. I'm stuck right now. I'm afraid to drive to car. Yet, I can't take it to a garage. I sit in limbo, waiting for someone from Oil Changers to call me back. I will never bring my car back here. read more

Got here at around 9 am on a sunny Wednesday morning. Both car ports were occupied, but I only waited a few minutes for the two men working there to finish up with one of them. After telling one of the men, Jason, that I had been to Oil Changers before (their West Grand location), and that I would like a full service oil change, I sat back while he got to work. I will say that that's one of the things I love about Oil Changers - there is no need to leave your car! I'd just tell them that I'd have my mechanic check it out, but I sure had to repeat it over and over like a mantra. The worrisome...after using Oil Changers i went to the dealer for the next oil change and the oil was seriously overfilled. I have been to oil changers many times and always had a fine experience but this review is about my most recent experience. Upon arriving there was an empty bay and an employee waived at me to go in and said he would be right with me. He then walked away to talk with a friend. At this point I had pulled into the bay. A different employee came up to me and starting yelling at me and telling me that I shouldn't have pulled in. If I misunderstood the first employee, I accept that but the second employee went on to reprimand me 14 times (yes I counted because it was that excessive). The last time he told me to roll up my window and then came over and knocked on it to yet again reprimand me. The whole experience was extremely uncomfortable and the response felt excessive. 2 stars because they did do their job of changing the oil despite the overactive and unnecessarily repetitive employee. read more

I work throughout the work week by appts abd deadlines. This is perfect for me because I can drive up and enjoy the comfort of my car and have oil changed and my windows washed. Their prices are above average however I haven't had to ever wait longer than 10 minutes to pull my car in for service. I have been a few times and I haven't always been asked to spend more on misc services. At times they make recommendations but not forceful. If you check in right before you receive service you can get a cool $5 off coupon. Not sure If it depends on location. read more

These guys run a tight and professional crew, always friendly. Prices seem reasonable, they offer the usual banter about air filters but they really don't pressure. I gotta say, on a side note, I hope the management knows how good Shawn is as a crew leader. I train teachers as part of my job, and I recognize that he is a natural at developing his people. The guys at the Oil Changers in Berkeley on San Pablo were all awesome. I originally came for a oil change on my truck a 2021 and the manager said he couldn't do it, come to find out because the oil cap was missing. Car dealer sold me the car with no oil cap on it SMDH ‍.... Luckily the manager was so awesome and saw I was a mom with kids and didn't want me to drive around like that. He informed me it was dangerous and not only that it would cause further damage to the car. I needed to get back home but he suggested I don't even drive like that. In the meantime he and his co-workers offered to locate the cap for me and at the nearest auto zone they needed up finding one for me. Took it upon himself to drive and pick it up for me!!! Unbelievable, talk about going above and beyond with customer service. I felt it was meant for me to go to this particular location because no one would have done that for me and sent me on my way. I'm grateful and feel blessed that they were extremely helpful and kind and not only cared about the safety of my family and I. You don't come across ppl like that these days. So this seems weird to write about an oil change, but this was an oil change experience unlike any other. This was my first time getting my oil change here. Unlike other places I've had my oil changed in the past, you stay in your car the entire time. My very friendly mechanic showed me my current oil level, how dirty my air filter was is in case I wanted to replace it, and the leak on the bottom my skid plate from the last mechanic who did it wrong and stripped the screw (no extra charge for the fix). You can see what oil is going in, and chat with the actual service person looking at your car, not some guy at a front desk. This place exceeded my all my expectations for an oil change. read more

Went on a Sunday morning and there was no line. As advertised, I was in and out in 15 minutes. Service technicians all wore masks, and I didnt need to exit my car. They performed the oil change, topped off all the fluids, checked the lights, added air to all my tires, (and replaced my air filter for an additional fee). Paid up and pulling out at 11:42. Since my oil change only took 10 minutes, I don't know why I had to wait 30, but maybe the car in front of me had other services done? Nice guys, no upsell.
