Ohms breakfast with a homemade sausage patty.
    Richard A.

As far as old authentic greasy spoon diners go, this is the real deal. Founded in the 50s and resilient through the years according to the various pictures and articles hanging in the diner. As a diner, you'd expect good homemade food and the specials of the week included creamed chicken, cabbage rolls, and a tater tot hotdish. But they have plenty of other options as well. I ordered the standard Ohms Breakfast with 2 scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, toast and a side of hand pattied sausage - see picture. The food was delicious, the waitstaff was attentive and quick to refresh our coffee and the prices were incredibly reasonable. Tough to ask for much more. 5 stars!

This is exactly the type of cafe you want to find on a cross country road trip. Great service, delicious food, and small town charm.

Despite living in Mandan for 18 years of my life, I've never been to Ohm's. So, when my brother and I were trying to pick a place to go to breakfast with my dad, this seemed like the perfect spot. It's a small cafe located at the end of main. It's so far West that it doesn't really feel like main anymore. We found a place to park on the street right out front and walked in. It's not very big inside. There are booths on the walls and some tables in the middle. We grabbed a booth and waited to order. I ordered tea with a mushroom and swiss omelette. My dad and brother ordered breakfast plates with eggs, hash browns, toast, and a choice of meat. I was happy with my omelette. The mushrooms in it didn't taste canned, which was nice. However, all of our toast was burned. It still tasted good if you put jelly on it though. To top it off, I got two carmel rolls on my way out. I am still amazed that you can't get carmel rolls in other parts of the country. This basically fits the mold for a small town cafe. It's a place where you can expect to find groups of regulars who get together for coffee. However, the prices were a bit higher than I expected. I would come back for breakfast again when I'm in town. While we were there, my dad told me that he would walk over to Ohm's at 9pm when he was a kid because they had a special (5 hamburgers for a dollar). That alone made me want to come back. There's history here.

Always fast service and home cooked food. Seating is limited so arrive at non busy times or know you will have a wait.

Great food and service. Eggs Benedict is the best I've ever seen. Soups are very good. Caramel Rolls are great.

The workers were helpful and happy to recommend what to drink/eat, and they seemed to be enjoying their jobs. I ordered the reishi cacao , which is basically a hot chocolate for adults, with adaptogenic mushrooms instead of marshmallows (I didn't feel anything out of the ordinary after drinking it). It was lovely! My parents enjoyed their latte and drip coffee. The prices are great, especially when I don't have to spend $8 on a latte. The only thing I did not appreciate was they didn't post what the prices were in the pastry case (the labels only had what it was, not the price too). All in all, a great experience and a great variety to choose from. I'd like to go back to try their breakfast sandwiches. From here I took home bag of lightly roasted Ethiopian beans and made delicious pourovers for a month. I've had many pourovers at this point but these made some of the most memorable cups. During my visit I picked up a medium cold brew (excellent!) and avocado toast (avocado, tomato, sprouts, hemp seeds, chia seeds on multigrain bread, $6.00). The toast was splendid. I found no browning of the avocado and the tomatoes were fresh. I do think the bread could have been toasted longer. The service was a little awkward. I waited at the counter for a solid three minutes before I finally waved down a couple baristas chatting away. This is fine, I'm a pretty patient person and I will always support building healthy relationships with coworkers. The awkward part was the blank, unresponsive stare I received from one of the girls. Like I was breaking something up. I'll be using the drive-thru if I ever find myself here again.
