who needs online workouts? just come use this stair climber! This is awesome! The family took what was desert style cliffs and made their own garden of Eden. you really have to experience it to understand. the views are exceptional. the details, the water ponds, the stones that were hand laid to form over a mile of trails... truly inspirational! Plan on at least 1-2 hours. if you want bring a book and find one of many spots to sit and read. this is like a sanctuary, with majestic views and tranquil settings.

During our family vacation to Lake Chelan, my husband just happened on Ohme Gardens as a nearby visit. It is about an hour away from Chelan, WA (depending where you're coming from) and 2.5 hours from Seattle. It is breathtakingly stunning where you'll see ponds, waterfalls, koi fish, several flowers/vegetation, pine trees and more. I absolutely LOVE those attractions where everywhere you turn offers a unique a beautiful view. It costs $7 for adults and even cheaper for children making it budget-friendly and entirely worth it. I was shocked to see many "unimpressed views" which I found interesting. I'm from Chicago and live in Arizona, so definitely gives an impressive view that I'm used to seeing BUT I have been to several different gardens, botanical gardens, etc in different parts of the world and still felt this was impressive - it was built as the Ohme's backyard and was never meant to be a tourist attraction, so I'm not sure if the negative reviews were factoring that in. Also neat fact that the stone pathways were brought in and laid down by hand! We went in June 2022 and it was not crowded at all. BE PREPARED: Good shoes for tricky footing/steps, umbrella and/or raincoat (Washington weather was tough to predict), I would grab the walking sticks they offer if you occasionally need them, and be sure you dress for a hike! Also, any items you'd like to relax with: good book, headphones, etc TIME: I would budget 1-2 hours here with two main factors involved: mobility level of you and your group and how much you and your group stops to take photos or enjoy the view. There are SEVERAL spots to sit throughout the garden, had I known I honestly would have budgeted time to bring my book and just sit here for a little bit MOBILITY LEVEL: This DEFINITELY has tricky footing. We knew nothing about Ohme Gardens when we got there, but it's built into the side of the hill so the pathways are steps (sometimes semi-steep with no railings), uphill/downhill and some paths can be pretty narrow. There are railings in certain areas, but not everywhere. If you cannot go that far there are some spots that can still be an easier walk that would still offer fantastic views, so I would ask at the front or have someone in your group run ahead and see what is negotiable. BATHROOMS: There are fully functional bathrooms right behind the admissions/gift shop area. These are your only bathrooms throughout the entire gardens, so plan accordingly :-) KID-FRIENDLY: We saw several families with kids here and it looked like the kids were interacting with the map to find their way around the gardens which was great! Just keep in mind there are some areas where it's an easy misstep into a pond or down the hill, but overall, it's safe to bring kids GIFT SHOP: It's small but they have unique items! Definitely stop in here. They also had some bottled drinks for sale and a coffee dispenser inside. NEARBY: We enjoyed going to Pybus Public Market for lunch (there are several options) walking around their cute shops (olive oil shop, gelato, sandwiches, pizza, Mexican food and more). Leavenworth is about 30 minutes away and their Reindeer Farm and seeing this cute Bavarian town is a MUST do!

Highly recommend taking the family and enjoy this garden over looking the laid back Wenatchee City and Columbia River. Very detailed well maintained garden with a variety of flowers, trees and landscape designs is very relaxing and calming. Garden paths are easy to navigate providing plenty of places of prospect and refuge that is very restorative to your mental health. Breathe taking views and very friendly trails to enjoy with the family. A must garden if in Wenatchee!

Ohme Gardens is a gorgeous place! Apparently coming here in the spring is the best time because there are lots of flowers here to see along the paths. We went here in August. Although no flowers were here the gardens were still gorgeous! We got a great view of Wenatchee despite some smoke from wild fires in the mountains. There are lots of different paths all over of varying grade. The gardens are kind of on the side of a big hill so much of the paths require going uphill. They have useful maps for you to get an idea as to which paths are easier and which paths are steeper. They have walking sticks at the front of the entrance if you feel like that you need one. There are several pools that are very beautiful here as you meander on the paths. Also there is a wishing well which is a lot of fun. Lots of couples come here to get wedding pictures taken and apparently actual weddings are held here as well since when we were here there were two going on here. The folks are super nice and accommodating with balancing these special events and letting the general public come in to sight see. The rates are very reasonable, only $8. Definitely a place to go see if you are visiting Wenatchee!

Important tips: 1. Do not come here expecting an ornate Victorian garden. In fact, the fewer expectations you have - the better. 2. This is not good for those who struggle with steps - there are a lot of them. 3. The story behind it adds a lot The Ohme gardens were the private garden of a Wenatche resident, way back when. They expanded quite a bit and the gardens provide a solid hour of green hillside, reflecting ponds, and views of the valley. The price of $7 is fair. Any more and you would feel a bit taken. They really don't have a vision, they just plant and let it grow. Price:quality - you could argue a 4/5 quality - a solid 3

Legendary manifestation of Garden God, Herman Ohme. His ingenius definition of a garden has challenged and elevated the garden game. A vertigo-inducing, hot-spot seeking, tree-shielded beauty, Ohme's most prized invention is an adventure quest one must do in Sunnyslopes. The depth-sensors of my camera, was unable to match the epic scenery, but rather collected sample-epics carefully cinematized and in my failures still could not capture Herman's brilliance. In truth, this five star does very little justice. It scores easily in the third standard deviation which many statistician would define as, impossible.

I love Ohme Gardens. There is plenty to see and its a really fun thing to do any time that its open. My boyfriend and I went during the fall, and we used a coupon that gave us one free entry. We had fun exploring. There was a light rain but it just lit up the garden. It was gorgeous and green and the orange flowers were lovely. The ponds were all very gorgeous. The colors were brilliant. The view is not very pretty, its just a bunch of flat land and ugly buildings and campers and semis, but the garden itself is where the beauty is at. Definitely worth a visit, but do expect more trees than flowers and watch out for small snakes. I saw one race across a pathway once during my Uncle's spring wedding.

Everyone recommended these gardens so much that we started our wenatchee trip with this. The whole loop is about 1 mile and entry fee is $7/person. The garden was cute and landscaped well, but strangely, nothing about it made me go "ahh!" The view of the mountains is hampered by the industrial area and the freeways closeby. The ponds are serene and a nice place to read a book, but I really wonder how it is a must see place. Probably it is better in the night, with the lighting and all, I don't know. I liked the nearby confluence state park a lot better. I guess it's one of those touristy things that you have do to prove you really were in Wenatchee. To be fair, I think the park should be experienced more than seen. There are many serene spots in there that make for good meditation spots. So if you go there, go with time on your hands rather than just a camera.

Beautiful little botanical garden. Easy access. Take water. Its a bit of a vertical hike in places and quite hot in the summer months. I highly recommend taking a stroll through the beautiful park. Weddings too, in fact the day we were there

Love the combination of the natural rock with all the plants and trees.

Ohme Gardens in Wenatchee Washington is a "must-see". If you've never been there before -- you should go! Walking around the terraced gardens will transport you to another world. A world of nature, beauty, relaxation, exploration, and peacefulness. A perfect way to unwind.

My friend and I had some time before a concert at the Gorge so we drove an hour up here. It was completely worth it. This place is gorgeous. Very green with beautiful scenic views. There is plenty of parking. They hand you a map when you first enter and it takes about an hour or so to hike around the entire area. There are many spots with waterfalls and ponds. It's just gorgeous. If you have the chance to come up here, please do. You will thank yourself.

Amazing story to this place, a couple built it over several decades, largely by hand. Great views of the area and lovely plantings.

(almost 4-hrs). My work office is driving a city bus with a million dollar view of the Cascades, Mt Rainier, the Olympics and Space Needle. Dale flies his awesome office with equally, ok sometimes better, more spectacular views. And much less traffic! Takeoffs and landings were so smooth, Dale knows the history and people in the area and always made sure we were comfortable during the flight. We were less than a minute away from our RV at Kamei Campground and took off toward toward north Lake Chelan, the mountain vistas and smaller inland lakes and trails. We landed at the Stehekin State Airport then visited Stehekin Pastry Company, Rainbow Falls and the original Stehekin School. We took off then flew over to Stehekin Valley Ranch for dinner, met some of the nice staff and guests there, then we took off for the final flight back to Manson, admiring the sights and enjoying the personal and actual history of the area from Dale. Everything was memorable - the flight, sights and stories, the people we met, the food and the unique experience of flying, taking off and landing 3 times in a helicopter. There is a 3-passenger and 500-lb max for the flight. You're given headphones to muffle the engine noise and provide communications during the flight. No reports of motion sickness from the family, ventilation was good and even a light rain was fascinating as it beaded off the bubble canopy on the return flight. Bring a camera that can take photos and videos but remember to put it down every now and then to truly admire the smoothness of the flight and in-your-face natural beauty of the area. You'll also appreciate the history that Dale tells you with pride about growing up to work, raise a family and enjoy his home space on land and in the air. A mile of road takes you a mile, a helipad can take you anywhere and generate so many smiles! We highly recommend Lake Chelan Helicopters for a truly memorable experience from Chelan to Stehekin.

Our experience with her and the agency has been extremely disappointing. Norma Jean's primary concern appears to be securing commissions; she received commissions not only for our booking but also for our friends'. To begin, she provided us with an incorrect itinerary, and it seems unlikely she even recognized it was not ours. Furthermore, we inquired multiple times about the weather and appropriate clothing for the cruise, and she suggested a light windbreaker would be adequate. Given that we traveled during the winter months to Germany and Prague, where the average daily temperature, even when it wasn't snowing, was below 30 degrees, a light windbreaker was wholly inadequate. We also inquired about the Christmas markets, as we were eager to visit them. She repeatedly confirmed that the Christmas markets in both Germany and Prague would be open during our trip, which was entirely false. Considering her claims of extensive international travel and having taken the same cruise the previous year, one would expect her to be knowledgeable about the status of the Christmas markets. However, they were closed. This was on top of all the other issues we encountered. To begin, our flight from Boise to Salt Lake City was canceled. I contacted her to determine the best course of action, as the cancellation occurred just two days before our departure. Instead of offering assistance, she "passed the buck," which has become a recurring pattern, and instructed me to contact Viking to make alternative arrangements. However, as our travel agent, shouldn't she be responsible for such matters, especially since she was compensated for our booking? Subsequently, our connecting flight from Salt Lake City to Paris was canceled due to mechanical problems. We were rebooked on a different flight, but she provided no assistance and initially refused to provide a letter confirming the cancellation. It took several text messages and emails before she reluctantly provided it. She claimed she was occupied traveling with her husband, who had recently retired, and suggested I handle the situation myself. Throughout our trip, we faced other delays and challenges that demanded the support of a "travel agent," but she consistently refused to help. Upon our return, we submitted an insurance claim to recover the 1.5 days we lost due to the flight disruptions. We requested a simple letter from her outlining the reasons for the delays, but she denied our request. We then reached out to her supervisor and the agency owner, Sandy, who also refused to assist us. The letter was intended as supporting documentation for our travel insurance claim to validate our trip interruption. Instead of offering assistance, Norma Jean and Sandy directed us to file a claim with the airline, even though we booked the entire package, including the flights, through them and Viking. It's illogical to expect the airline to compensate us for lost days when they simply rebooked our flights. When I called to request a simple letter supporting our insurance claim, Norma Jean hung up on me. This has been the worst experience with a travel agency I have ever had. My husband and I travel frequently and have never encountered such appalling service and a negative attitude. If I could rate them zero stars, I would. DON'T USE THIS AGENCY, NORMA JEAN, OR SANDY!!! They are completely unprofessional and have no customer service skills.

Our experience with her and this agency has been horrible. The only thing Norma Jean cares about is receiving a commission. She not only received a commission from our booking, but she also received one from our friend's booking. To start things off, she sent us the wrong itinerary, and I don't even thing she realized that she sent us someone else's itinerary. Second, we asked her several times about the weather and the type of clothing we should take on the cruise, and she told me a light wind breaker would be sufficient. Considering we took the cruise in the middle of winter to Germany and Prague and the average daily temperature when it was not snowing was sub 30 degrees. Really, a light windbreaker? Is she crazy? We also asked her about the Christmas markets as we really wanted to see these during the time we were there. She confirmed several times that the Christmas markets in both Germany & Prague would be open to explore during our trip. This could NOT be further from the truth! From someone who bragged repeatedly about traveling the world and claimed she had taken this exact cruise the year before, you would have thought she would have known if the Christmas markets were open during this time. However, they were not. This was over & above everything else that happened. Initially, our flight from Boise to Salt Lake City was canceled. I called her to ask what we should do as this was two days before we left. She "passed the buck" which seems to be very typical for her, and told me to call Viking to reschedule. But wait, aren't you our travel agent and shouldn't you take care of things like this since you received a commission and all??? Next, our flight in Salt Lake to Paris was canceled due to mechanical issues, and we had to be rebooked on another flight of which she gave no assistance and wouldn't even provide me a letter stating the reason for cancelation until I texted and emailed her two or three times. She said she was busy traveling with her husband as he had recently retired, and I needed to take care of this myself. During the course of our trip we had other delays and situations that required support from someone who calls themself a "travel agent", but she was unwilling to help. When we returned from our trip, we filed an insurance claim to recoup 1 and 1/2 days that we lost due to the flight delays. We requested her to send us simple letter stating what happened to cause us to lose 1.5 days, and she refused to do this. We contacted her boss and he owner of the agency Sandy, and she also refused to help us. We wanted the letter as backup to submit to our travel insurance company to help corroborate our trip interruption claim. Instead of helping us, both Norma Jean and Sandy stated that we needed to file a claim with the airline. We didn't book the airfare through the airline. We booked it through her and Viking as a package deal. Why would the airline compensate us for lost days when they rebooked us on another flight? Then I called her to discuss my simple request of her providing us with a letter and she hung up on me. This has been the worst experience with a travel agency EVER. My husband and I have traveled a lot and never received such poor service and such a bad attitude! If I could give her zero stars I would. DON'T USE THIS AGENCY, NORMA JEAN, OR SANDY!!! They are completely unprofessional and have no customer service skills. Once they receive their commissions, they are done with you! The only thing both of them know how to do is lecture you on how many years they have been doing this and of course, they know everything, which couldn't be further from the truth! They don't even deserve 1 star.
