What a great family friendly campground. Water and electric hookups only, but the onsite bathrooms and showers were nice and well kept. They are located in a remote area, so there is no cell service, and wifi is only available right by the office, but they do have a great selection of loaner DVDs, which kept my hubby . They have a gathering space with movies and popcorn, an onsite store. They even had a great DJ on Saturday night. read more

Admittedly, we have not done a lot of camping at campgrounds like this one, in fact we haven't done a lot of camping at all. That said, this is the sort of place that we want to go camping all the time now! We're definitely not go out in the woods and sleep on a camping pad under the stars type people. We're more camp where we can see the car and have a bathroom around type people. This definitely trends towards the latter. This little campground is about 17 miles past Bron Yr Aur in Naches and is an absolute gem of a spot. Upon checking in, you find they have a small store with plenty of food and beverage options. They have spots for tent camping, cabins with beds, and plenty of RV parking. We went up here for a friends birthday weekend and opted for one of the small cabins. It was named "mamas place "and was lovely. The cabins are newly renovated and have small kitchenette's, a nice TV, And most importantly were warm! The two that we saw in so I did not have bathrooms, but there is a shared central bathroom and shower house that's close to everything, and is also heated! On the grounds, they have a small beach area where the kids could go throw rocks in the River and during the summertime everyone is able to get into the water to cool off. They have tons of play equipment for kids to run around and play on, some awesome area for people to ride 4 x 4's if they brought them, and they even have a meadow type area where they hold weddings. It's incredibly picturesque with the river in the background and the cliffs behind it. Go out there at night and check out what they called the fire flies - a bunch of lights set up in the meadow the dance on the trees. It's pretty awesome! You are just close enough to be able to run into town for something you forgot, but also far enough away that your cell phone isn't going off all the time because the reception is bad. This is actually about as close to perfect spot as we've been, and we're really excited to go back! read more

Elkridge Campground was fun and relaxing...whenever we wanted however we wanted. I napped by the swift wide river...wondered at the sunrise shadows on the cliffs while my pups enjoyed smelling last nights critter tracks. Saturday night we enjoyed each others shared stories around the campfire while toasting smores with professional s'mores extra long roasters...huge firepit to stay warm all year. It was April which was the only reason I was able to get a weekend tent spot only a month or two in advance as this is a booked May through October wedding in the woods venue on the Naches River 30 min. west (and ten degrees cooler) than Yakima Washington in always sunny central WA. Friendly and nice and slow paced feel wonderful for a weekend getaway. Three hours and 15 min. from NE King County via I-90 to S. 82 to W. WA state route 410 and it's on your left clearly marked. Fire pits have covers to help with ash. The cliffs on the river are stunning, perhaps lava rock as there are a bunch of bubble pocked black rock around as well as those gorgeous huge round and flat stones you long for when out in the 'rockies' and in this case...'the Cascades.' No snow there at the campground in April and it was warmer than the average high of 45 but bundled up good overnight and morning. Some cheap mittens will do you in April. If you're shy or weary but would like the option to socialize this is a perfect match because the owners are friendly and outgoing. We enjoyed a great action movie inside a log and tin roof lined room with deer heads on a humongous screen/projected...from comfy Ikea lounger chairs...ahhh...wish we could have a do-over...tomorrow...and I just got back...today! (We hope to open a farmstay single cabin bed and breakfast that is also dog friendly...where who knows). I really appreciated that there was no maximum on dogs. This 3rd weekend of April we were the only campers since it's a chilly time and it was sunny and wonderful all weekend. If there were a sauna teepee Tim I'd be camping there perhaps all year? Gather some of that onsite lava rock maybe and give it a try? Really fun conversations amongst cabin dwellers too...kind of makes for a family like atmosphere even when getting to know some new folk. You'll feel welcomed and supported in your choice of relaxing or action packed getaway. We had planned to return and walk the Cowiche Canyon park which is just south of I-410 on Naches (Rd.) after it changes names...honestly google led us to cul de sac where 'Frank' simply let us park in his drive and walked us up to the Cowiche trail we'd hiked from the Wilrdige Winery side last time. Our 14 yr old really enjoyed it, played lawn games like R.N. golf and horse shoes...he's dreaming of a cabin stay...he also wants a Tesla...:) Private one room bathrooms are a nice touch...same with the showers and my hubby said the shower was nice and hot and he was able to enjoy it. The campground was quite and peaceful with the roar of the river lulling us to sleep...at night the fireflies are amazing...and the walk to the most private campsite is actually only 7 min. max from the main fire pit and shared regular plumbing bathrooms... Rustic small cabins with varying ammenities. Heard the main lodge is stunning nice shiny wood inside...with a bunk room for eight for example. Sounds a lot like the house I'd like to design and live in at our farmstay single cabin rentals someday. I only regret not stopping to see the goats, I guess they were behind the main lodge/building...I'm a goat lover and could sit a folding chair and just enjoy...or get in there and trim some hooves someday. Couldn't have asked for a more 'just right' stay...always had privacy at our site...yet always found Tim or Julie right there at the main shared bathroom/fire pits/lawn game area whenever we visited. Thank you two for the wonderful reward for our hard work here on the rainy side of the same mountains...we look foward to seeing you for the 4th of July...we totally forgot we'd already booked. There is a shared kitchen we didn't use or take a look at but felt good knowing we could skip our fire and cast irons if needed...enjoyed what family said was their best pancake ever at Drift Inn down the street in Naches also...$4 side of hash browns, my kind of authentic diner 'grandma': friendly but with an edge...then friendlier...yummy egg over medium....$6 meal can choose 1 egg and toast and a side of either hash browns or 'short stacks' Pancakes. Great budget rustic cabins...wonderful fancy lodge for special occassions I hear and some of the most scenic campsites I've ever seen...yet close to our beloved El Rey/The King taco truck next to Fiesta market in Yakima. At Fiesta we bought preseasoned beef for $7 for three to cook fireside...only to learn later they have a $20 bundle of 4.5 lbs of three different seasoned Mexican raw meats and 12 enchiladas. Fiesta is a cultural experience in itself and just 4 miles away. read more

Stayed 2 days and 1 night. Tim took us to our campsites and would routinely drive by to check on things. We had plenty of porta potties with water to wash our hands by our campsite!! Porta potties were well stocked with TP and paper towels! Plus there is a nice building within walking distance for showers and nice clean bathrooms. Kids loved the playground, giant chess game, the pony (yes! I said pony!) and getting snacks at the little store (although a little pricey, of course). The "firefly show" was beautiful (not real fireflies! Lol) and the kids enjoyed a free movie and popcorn in the "theater". It was an amazing time and will definitely go again!! read more

I have been here a few times and it gets better each time. Tim and Julie run a beautiful campground that can accommodate anyone and their camping preference (cabin, RV, tent) A quick drive the Boulder Cave (when its open so check before you go due to state restrictions) and also not far from Rimrock Lake if you want water play for the day. The campground is homey and lit up beautifully throughout. Pet friendly as well. Give them a call and make a reservation to see what it is all about. read more

We spent one night here as part of a trip to mount rainier. Had I known how much I would love this place I would have planned to stay more than 1 night. We rented one of the cabins ("granny's pad" with good proximity to bathroom/showers) but I know they also have RV spots and a meadow for tent camping. You can tell the owners truly care and have a lot invested in the happiness of their guests. This was as comfortable of a cabin experience as one can get. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness/quality of the restroom and shower facilities- way better and more comfortable than other campgrounds we have stayed at. They also have lots of games: corn hole, ladders, horseshoes, board games in the cabin. Kids and adults alike would definitely be entertained. There is a little mini grocery on site so you can get firewood for the fire pit and marshmallows for roasting, or just stock up on beer. On our way out the one of the owners (Tim) gave us a hand written map for finding our way around rainier and restaurant reco for the drive back to Seattle. Great people! We stayed there this weekend with a group of friends. This campground is worth visiting if only to meet the owners, Tim and Julie. They were fabulous! Tim was very helpful getting parked at my site. I'm a rank beginner when it comes to trailer parking, and I'd consider all the sites here to be advanced. Tim directed me with such finesse I was parked before I could get stressed. The kids had a great time zipping around on the golf cart for hours each evening with Tim driving like a loony at the wheel. He also gave them rides on his 1958 tractor. There's movies in the barn in the evenings, and "fireflies" in the trees. The campground is right on the river and we spent many hours out there relaxing with our feet soaking in the water. They playground and games were nice, and there was a complete outdoor kitchen set up as well. A few friends stayed in the cabins, all of which have a background story and are nicely appointed and quite cute. I am not giving 5 stars due to the 2 following things: 1. There is only 1 bathhouse with 2 toilets and 2 showers. With over 100 people camping there over the weekend, there was usually a line for both throughout the day. 2. They have a strange policy of charging PER tent, even if you've already paid for an RV site. I'm sure the policy was designed to limit the number of campers at a site, but I would much prefer a policy that actually does that. Limit the site to 6 people, or charge extra after 4 people, or charge for extra cars, not per tent. The currently policy rather unfairly discriminates against those of us who own small trailers (or small tents), when many larger RV's easily sleep 8-10 and they would not be charged extra. Luckily my friends paid for the tent this time, but if we go camping without friends, we will need to look elsewhere as I can't afford to pay for a tent and an RV site, and I'm not about to camp without my kids bringing a friend (which still only puts us at 6 people). read more

Tim and Julie are the new owners of Elk Ridge Campground, and to say they are amazing is an understatement. They have made this place fun, welcoming, and clean! They didn't only welcome us with open arms, but spent their checking up on all campers there, and getting to know us. They have an amazing story and dream for this place. Julie does massages on the campground in her spa, and knows exactly what she's doing! One of the best massages I have ever received, for a reasonable cost! Tim is a vey fun, outgoing, and caring guy. He took the time to show us cabins, introduced us to his friends (who happened to be staying next to us), brought us games to play, and chatted with us by the fire! I forgot to mention they have a community fire pit, and games for all to share in the center of the campground. Our friends stayed in a cabin near our camp spot which was beautifully decorated. We booked the campground for our office Christmas party. We wanted folks to eat drink and be merry but.... have a place to stay as to stay off the roads after a night of partying. So we booked Elk Ridge. What we got was far different than we bargained for. Let me say we were blown away. It was awesome. Tim and Julie were great hosts they had it decorated beautifully both inside and out. Warm and cozy in the gathering place with a fire burning and two raging bonfires outside in the snow. Sled runs for the kids, music playing and colorful lights. Tim even made a huge pot of homemade hot chocolate for all the kids. They arranged Santa and Mrs Claus to come by too. Absolutely awesome place to host a party. read more

This was another great long weekend our group had at Elkridge. This year we had three lots for those with campers and four cabins for those without. The cabins are always so clean and comfy to stay in. Tim is such a great host as well. We always have such a great time talking to him and seeing what he comes up with next. This year he drove all the kids around on his golf cart which they loved. They kept running around saying that they were going to meet up with Tim for a golf cart ride. They were also very excited about the goats he keeps and allowed they the feed while he was working. He has such energy that allowed us adults to relax a bit. (Although they probably didn't make his job any easier following him around.) This year Tim had firefly lights in a clearing he owns that he had turned on once it got dark enough. They were awesome. They were the green lights that many houses used during Christmas this year, but the way he used them weren't tacky like all those houses you passed this year. He had maybe around twelve placed around the clearing and it was just amazing to see. Another great thing about this campground is the fact that they have so many options for the people visiting. You can camp in a tent is that is what you like, but after years of using tents, my family was done with the tent experience. And unlike some of our friends that have campers and the campground has lots for those, they also have cottages for those that want the camping experience but without the whole tent set up. They have stoves, refrigerator, bed, couch, and every spot has a fire pit to relax around. Overall, you will never be bored. This is a great location for families/friends to attend. read more

We stayed at Elk Ridge Campground this weekend. This place is on SR 410 just north of Nile, WA. Has all the pluses of a private family campground: river access, games/play structure, nice clean bathrooms, showers, and great friendly owners. The current owners have been there less than 1 year, and seem excited about making it a great place to stay - for families as well as for hunters during hunting season. The tent sites are in a nice meadow along the river which are separate from the RV sites and there is also a great group of cabins. Looks like a great place for a wedding or family reunion, etc... It isn't necessarily silent in the evening - lots of kids and folks having fun - so if that's what you are looking for - this is a great place. We left a few things behind accidentally - and they were great enough to say they will mail them to us. Great folks. read more

Attended a wedding here and you won't find a more magical location. The owner is amazing he makes you feel more than welcome, he makes sure every person is happy and comfortable. My Daughter Lyndsey had her Wedding here from Fri. - Sun. May 3rd - 5th 2019. I have to admit I was skeptical about the Place her and Wesley had chosen to have their Wedding. Upon arriving to our Cabin and Grounds i was very pleased with the Beauty & Cleanliness. The Owners Tim & Julie were beyond " Amazing " to every Detail and Courtesy. The grounds and all accommodations were Very Clean, Comfortable & Welcoming. Tim worked very hard to make sure every detail for the Wedding was Top Notch !! Tim extended his Courtesy, Friendship and Love to all Family & Friends the entire weekend. The Kids Absolutely Loved " Uncle Tim " as they called him. For putting on the Movies/Popcorn in the barn and the Speed Racing Atv Rides he gave them through the grounds. Keeping the rounds coming for the late night Bonfire for the Adults. We had the most enjoyable stay here! Our daughter had the Peaches Ridge bull tag and we had no idea where to stay. We drove by this resort and decided to pull in and see if they had a cabin available. Tim and his mother were the friendliest and most hospitable people!
