Curious little St Louis County Park. And I don't know exactly how to rate it...what are you looking for in a park? There's not much to the playground, but does have some ADA accessible equipment. Nature path is cool. Gaga Ball Pit here, if you know what that is and/or care. Giving it 3-stars for the Yelp-described "A-Ok." That's accurate...this park is A-Ok, but nothing to get too excited about.
Playground: Used to take my kids there to play, but they replaced the playground here four-ish years ago with equipment that's new and cool-lookin, but sparse and boring. I don't totally understand it. I know this park received money from the Emergency Communication Commission that has a recently built a command center there. And while they made it look more modern certainly, they also might have made it less interesting or fun. There's really not much here to play with. A few swings, a Spiderman web-looking climbing arch, and some saddle spinners - all which my kids quickly tire of. They also have some ADA-accessible equipment, which is wonderful, but there's still not much here. ADA equipment: multi-use circular swing, accessible drinking fountain (also a dog drinking fountain,) and a rubberized playground surface. There's no indoor structure here, so you've got an accessible Porta-Potty for all. Oh, and you'll have the place to yourself.
Walking Trails: Now the walking trails are great. There's a mile-ish, woodchip nature trail through the woods. A bit hilly. Fun with the kids or for a quiet hike in the middle of suburbia. They also have exercise equipment along the path, if you wanna do pull-ups and stairmaster-type exercise in the woods. I don't know, do you??
GaGa Ball Pit: The octagonal pit required to play this "kinder, gentler dodgeball" game was built here in the past 2 years. If you're not familiar, this game feels like combo dodgeball/foursquare to me. I know a lot of kids and adults who really groove on this game. Since this special pit is required to play, it's nice to know that one does exist here.
Commuter Lot: This place is also a Metro Bus stop. There's a small parking lot (that's never too full) if you'd ever want to park and ride. read more
