Dave from Bartlett Tree Service came out and looked at our tree and also some smaller trees that needed pruning. He explained the process and had a crew out the next week to do the pruning. They saved our tree and did a great job pruning the canopy as well as the other smaller trees on our property. We are having them come back out to spray as well. I would highly recommend them. Laura was great about setting up the appointments and communicating with us. The crew that came out were very professional and made sure they cleaned everything up. I wish we had gotten them out sooner!

There were dead branches here and there, and one branch was touching the roof, resulting in much noise inside during wind events. I requested trimming estimates from three companies. One was a ubiquitous tree service whose trucks are seen all over town. They said they could send someone out to give an estimate in two weeks, which seemed like kind of a long delay to me. A second company provided no response. (A one-line email came from them later, after the job was already done.) The third company was Bartlett. What a difference! Expert arborist Brian Moody came out a day or two after my I made my request and gave the trees a thorough examination, providing many comments about the strengths and weaknesses he observed. He was extremely friendly and forthcoming about the project. He got the job! A couple of guys came out on the appointed day (a week or two later) and worked on the trees for five solid hours with barely a break. They did a great job! The cleanup was complete and left no visible sign that they had been there. Even the billing process was professional and timely, and the price was pretty much exactly what I had expected it to be, and well worth the expenditure. If you need tree work, you can save yourself some trouble and time and just go with Bartlett. It is hard to imagine being disappointed by Brian and his associates.

Watching this company remove the tree was one of the most professional things I've ever watched. These guys are as skilled as it gets. Knowledgeable, safe, and efficient! You seriously could've set a China cabinet beneath this tree while they cut it down, and it would've been unharmed. Not to mention, we are in Clintonville, where space is extremely limited to get large equipment maneuvered, but these guys did it without missing a beat.

While their actual tree take-down and stump grinding was done well, the removal crew arrived early morning the night after a torrential downpour. When they arrived, they should have seen the wet conditions and left immediately and called to reschedule. Instead, they put down heavy, rubber lawn "protectors" which only served to damage property. Yes, there is a clause in the contract stating they aren't responsible for lawn damage, but this was negligent damage. Something completely different. They also trespassed on my neighbor's lawn - which they didn't have the authority to do and most of the damage was to his lawn. I don't know what happened to my flowerbed edging. It looks like they dragged the tree trunk through it, completely demolishing it. On a positive note, Charleston, who did the stump grinding, was a delight. After the fiasco damage from the last crew, he carefully followed my instructions on where to drive and place the grinder. He even took extra time to remove more of the pine chunks after I asked him to do so. I did ask for and received a discount on the invoice, but the main point is the damage should not have occurred to begin with had the tree removal crew noted the wet yard conditions and rescheduled. So, if you hire this company, be sure you are home when they arrive so they don't trespass on your neighbor's property. And if conditions are not ideal for the work they are contracted to do, that you intercept them so they don't damage property as much as they did with me.

They also offered fertilizing for my two Spruce trees at no charge to compensate for my time. The crew came and cut the invasive tree to spec, removed my 3 bushes, cleaned up and were very polite. The following week the moth man returned to spray my trees and as I write this the fertilizer fella is here doing as promised. Thank you for great service. I keep the last star ;} I cannot review Davies Tree Service work, I can only review their customer service or lack there of. They did not show up for me. I called to make an appointment for an appraisal in the very beginning of March this year. I had to wait 2 weeks for the appraiser but when he came I explained to him the urgency of the matter. I have a large linden tree growing directly into one of my twin Blue Spruce trees in my front yard, which is slowly killing it and I needed the branches remove before the tree leaves out. I was told they were two weeks out on appointments and that it would be taken care of in plenty of time. Here it is April 17th and the tree has leaves! No one from Davey has been here yet, no one's called me to make an appointment! I've called the company 7 times, SEVEN, and have received two apologizes with promises of appointment and return calls with actual appointment date. James Herrick is the man whom was to set that up but I'm still calling. I called one last time this morning and had to leave a voicemail since no one was there to answer the phone. I asked for a supervisor to return my call but we shall see. Immediately hung up, called another tree service and got an appointment for tonight. Same day. I cannot recommend this company to anyone and as a small business owner here in Columbus, I am beyond disappointed in the lack of customer service and care.

Called to find out why- apparently was never placed on the calendar and old address still in the system. Rescheduled service and corrected address for 2nd time. An hour into my second appt window called to make sure I was still on the calendar for the day- still had wrong address . Tried to correct the service address for the third time and the woman would not let me talk to correct her on the address again, continuously speaking over me. Asked to speak to the manager who would not pick up the call. Cancelled the appt and will never use their service again.

I happened to see an ad on Near East Neighborhood for a new landscaping business Columbus Landworks. I contacted Marshall on Friday. He came to give me an estimate on Saturday and spent five hours on Sunday cleaning up our entire garden. He came back to edge and mulch the garden, front and side yards. Now he returns weekly to keep things neat and trim. Reasonably priced and he's a nice guy who does excellent work.
