I called the Apple store 25 miles away to make an appointment, but the phone was never answered. Hallelujah, a big box store here in town could do it, and I made an appointment on-line for the next day. I was welcomed at the appointed time but then learned I'd have to leave the phone for 24-48 hours and would be called when the phone was ready for pick up. Three, now four, hours ago a friend told me about Experimac and her intent to visit the store regarding her Mac laptop. Experimac, "an Apple product specialist, buys, sells, trades, repairs and upgrades all Apple devices from iPhones and iPads to MacBooks and MacBook Pros." I called and was told Experimac could replace the iPhone battery, would not require an appointment, would take about 20 minutes and could be done today.
